I don't care about views much- I am just happy to put what I do onto a more permanent, digital platform.
We are looking at the Pokémon originally called 'Orphan' and whose Japanese name, Karakara, is the onomatopoeia for rattling bones. Can you really blame Cubone for being so sad? Poor fellow.
It's a good theory you have, but I don't think it actually happens in the game.
If you are bereaved you will already know what it feels like.
There are several debates to be had, such as whether Arceus is the equivalent of God? Are Lucario and Zoroark only made as furry bait? Does the Pokémon world have domestic animals in it such as hens? It's interesting stuff.
The feline Pokémon's 'dex entries suggest they're popular pets and some canines make good pets too. It's often the cute first or second forms that are kept as pets.
When it came to Arceus, they had the Shinto creation story in mind as there are four creation gods: Dialga (time), Palkia (space), Giratina (antimatter) and Arceus to shape the universe with its superfluous 1,000 arms. Mew's 'dex entry is illogical no matter how you look at it.
In fact, they now say dead people turn into ghost Pokémon; more specifically Yamask and the Dusknoir species are grim reapers that are called in through Houndoom howls.
I'm not sure whether Lucario and Zoroark was there to bait the furries in, but when it came to the games they were overrated and Illusion wasn't all it's cracked up to be.
