Barruk tried to reach upwards to keep his free arm from getting sucked under not unlike left arm which was now almost completely under the molasses like mud buried under the silty sand. For the moment his head was good but he could feel the quagmire slowly licking at his mouth and lower muzzle. His hope was someone would see him and maybe rescue him...
