Sometimes old habits are hard to break. Being raised since birth to be merciless in your pursuit of whatever objective you've got your sights set to, any course of action is valid and correct if it achieves your mission. Over the course of time and being exposed to people like Taylor, Natalia and others who made Ari question her father's intentions for her life, and even her very existence, Ari has begun to slowly shift away from the attitudes and actions that would have painted her a villain. She is by no means pleasant to be around often times, but she at least isn't going to stab her current group in the back anytime soon... not at least, if it doesn't suit her ends. However, when given the opportunity to let loose and wreck havoc on some unsuspecting poor saps in service to her group's objectives, she's more than eager to resort back to simpler pleasures, like inflicting as much humiliating pain as possible on those that deserve it.
