The Wages of Envy

A story trade for Volken Fox
Keith ran as hard as he could down the sidewalk, panting as he rushed for the bus stop a block away. He could see the bus just pulling in and if he pushed himself he might just be able to make it. The young man ran with every ounce of strength, spinning around someone in the middle of the sidewalk and charging up to the bus stop... just as the bus was pulling away.
"Damn it," he gasped out as he came to a stop, gasping for air, his sides aching from the exertion. This was the last thing he needed, missing the bus meant he would be late for a work, and that would be the end of that. No job, no paycheck, no apartment.
It was his fault in the end, he had stayed up the night before playing one of his dumb games. He knew he shouldn't, that he should get to bed and a decent time, but he never did. Every time it seemed like he had managed to force himself off one of the games he found a new one. It just never seemed to end.
As he finally caught his breath he started the long walk back home, not bothering to rush anymore. He just shoved his hands in his pockets and mopped as he headed down the sidewalk. This was his third lost job in the last year and he didn't know how he was going to get another one at this point. Maybe he could find a job at the coffee place down the street, then he wouldn't have to take the bus anymore.
"It's not fair. None of my friends have to work this hard," he growled as he walked, ignoring the fact that all of his friends went to bed hours before he did, or kept their jobs longer than three months, or had finished collage, all things the young man had never done.
Above him the sky started to grow darker, heavy black clouds started to roll in bringing with it a cold win that rolled over his skin. It was the perfect thing to fit Keith's current mood. He only paused to glare up at the sky and wrap his arms around himself, the cool air making him shiver. "I wish I had it as easy as they did," he said softly.
Without warning the air seemed to ripple, a charged feeling like lightning washing down over him and making the small hairs on his arms stand on end. Moments later more hair started to join in, his body becoming thicker as the skin started to vanish under the black and grey fur that was quickly growing over him.
He didn't notice it, in fact all he noticed was a slight itching at the base of his spine. He reached down and scratched at it, his fingernails turning to black claws. The scratching helped with the itch as the fur grew thicker and his spine started to grow into a full tail.
Pulling his hand away he rubbed the back of his paw over his face, his muzzle pushing out around his fingers. He flicked back his ears as a loud car drove pass, the base thumping loud enough to make the street shake. The raccoon glared at it as it went passed, cursing the dumb wolf behind the wheel.
Kevin sighed and shook out his short hair as he walked along, heading back home. He hated missing the bus, he knew his boss would understand, but it still wasn't fair. Here he was, working his ass off and still over sleeping. He knew it was a risk when he took the dayshift, he was never good during day, but some were worse than others.
He rubbed his sight belly through his shirt, his large tail flicking behind him. The new job wasn't very good for his weight, the free food at the restaurant insuring he had put on a number of pounds over the last few months. It showed in his belly and the way his pants would bind up at his hips and around the snap over his tail.
There was a roll of thunder above him, causing him to look up at the thick black clouds that filled the sky. It wasn't raining yet, but he doubted that would last much longer, and hopped he could get back home before he got soaked. Wet fur was not fun at all.
"It's not fair," he said with a grunt. All he wanted was a nice job and a car, but he could only manage one of those, and even the job wasn't that nice. A car would be a big improvement and insure he didn't have to catch the bus, and without the bus he could get a night job.
Another crack of thunder filled the air, forcing him to press his ears firmly down against his head. He looked back up to the sky, the clouds pressing down closer to him. "I wish I had a car," he said as lightening streaked across the sky.
The young man let out a grunt, shivering again and jolting between his ears. His hair started to grow longer, dancing over his shoulders as the softness in his belly filled out, his pants and shirt growing a few sizes as he quickly gained a hundred pounds. It made his cheeks full and gave him a second chin as his gut pressing out under his shirt.
Kevin slowed down, the new weight making it harder to rush even with the threat of rain. He pulled his jacket tighter around his large body, lumbering from the bus stop towards the apartment, the long day starting to weight down on him. He was glad it was only a couple of more blocks to the auto shop, he hated being without a car, even for a day. At 260 pounds the mile walk to the bus stop was a killer.
At least he found a job that let him work nights, that was always a nice perk. He hated having to get up early in the morning, even if he had to work at all night restaurant, but it was worth it to sleep through the day. The only downside was the fact that he couldn't play his games with his friends anymore, but that wasn't too much of a loss.
Kevin cross the street and walked up to the auto shop where his car was parked. It wasn't much of a car, an old beater he had picked up for a song, but it ran... well it ran most of the time, even if it didn't look very nice. That was an understatement, the car looked like it had already been crashed a couple of times, but it was all he could afford.
Next to the other cars in the lot it looked even uglier, like it was waiting to be taken to the junk yard instead of being driven off the lot. It made the raccoon sigh and shake his head. "It's not fair."
He walked up to the counter, the bull behind it smiling at him. "Hey Kevin," he said, setting the keys on the counter.
Taking the keys he shoved them into his pocket. "How's the beast running?"
"Well enough, just don't push it to hard or you'll be back in here again," he replied, his eyes looking down over the raccoon's around body.
He sighed and tried to ignore it, the buff bull was hot for him, he knew that, but he wasn't into guys. Still, it was nice to have someone want him. Too bad he only saw him during his regular visits to the shop.
Kevin signed the paperwork and paid the bill for the car repairs. "Thanks."
"No worries, I'll see you again in a few weeks," he replied, pulling at his overalls.
"I hope not," he replied, not being mean with it, he couldn't afford to many visits to the shop. Sometimes he had to make do with the car running rough or backfiring, but it was better than having to take the bus.
He slipped out of the shop and looked up at the sky, the dark clouds seemed to be right over head, the smell of rain filling the air. He rubbed the back of his paw over his muzzle as he moved up to his car, fishing out his keys. He was about to step inside when he heard a loud engine roar down the street.
The raccoon looked up just in time to see a rather pretty looking mouse girl pull away from the stoplight in a bright red convertible. It was so bright that it nearly matched the color of her hair as it fluttered out behind her. He had no idea what sort of car it was, but it was fast and made her look even sexier.
"I wish I had a car like that," he said, pulling out his keys. He felt a jolt of power as he did so, shivering as the world shifted around him again. His hair grew even longer as his weight started to increase once more, pulling his clothing tight before they expanding to match his new form, but at the same time the clothing itself started to change. His pant legs merged together and started to ride up, turning into a knee high skirt, his flat t-shirt fluffed out and became a blouse, holding to the curve of his belly. The contents of his pockets moved into a purse that formed under his arms.
At the same time his body started to change, his hips and ass swelling out wider, pressing back under the skirt, pulling it tight. His belly started to shrink a bit before his chest began to grow, filling out with a pair of large breasts, a bra forming to hold them. His hands and feet slimed down as his thighs pressed together, his gender flowing as well, turning him into a woman.
Kelly opened the door to the car, then sank her four hundred pound ass down into the seat. It was almost too narrow for her, but she didn't care, the car made her look hot. She pulled the door closed, feeling it press up at her hips, then started the engine, teasing the gas as it roar to life under her touch.
"I love this car," she said, wiggling back in the seat, pressing the button to make the hard top fold up from the trunk and close in over her head. The last thing she wanted was rain soaking the leather seats.
She pulled the car out of the shop and onto the road, gunning it towards home. She was happy to have her car back, being on the bus was no place for a woman like her. She needed fast cars and a lot of room, and it made her look even hotter then she already was.
The car leapt down the street with just the touch of the gas, eager to go fast, faster than the cops would let her go. Still, she liked to try, as the number of tickets she had proved. She didn't like them, they were a bit more then she could afford, almost all of her money going into the payments for the car, but a woman had to look good at all times.
Kelly drove past her apartment, having too much fun to just simply pull in and stop no, instead she drove on, heading up the hill as it finally started to rain, fat drops pelting down on the windshield. She took the corners on the hill a bit slower then she would like, but with the rain an her weight she knew going to fast would be a problem. She knew she should do something about it, but really never had the willpower to stop eating, and some of the customers at the restaurant liked a larger waitress, they felt it reflected on the quality of the food. It also helped with the tips!
"It's not fair," she whispered, all of those men had someone already, leaving her home alone every night. It seemed like everyone else at the restaurant had managed to find someone, even the chief, and the big bear had to have been half a ton. Though it looked good on seven foot frame.
She turned her car onto a wide street lined with large houses. Each one cost so much that even a room would be out of her price range, but they were still wonderful houses. The sort of house that went with her car, the sort of house that came with a husband.
Letting out a sigh she shook her head. "I wish I had a life like that."
Outside thunder crashed, lighting striking half a mile away and making the sky glow purple. She brought her hand up, blocking her eyes from the flash of light, feeling oddly warm as it washed over her. Once again her body started to shift, swelling out even larger, his ass growing positively huge in the seat, forcing it to side back as her hips pressing against the door and gearshift. Her clothing changed to fit her large form, the two piece outfit turning into a long elegant dress that hugged every curve body.
Blinking her eyes clear she pulled off the road and up the driveway, the car bottoming out over the slight rise of the curb, and drove up towards one of the large houses, as she approached the garage door started to open, allowing her to slip inside out of the rain.
Kelly turned the car off and pushed the door open. She struggled to get her huge body out of the car, at 650 pounds it was just a bit too small for her, but it was worth being see, even if she had to wedge herself inside. With a gasp she pulled her pear-shaped body free of the car and slammed the door. Brushing her hands down her hips, she straightened out her dress and putted it down over the shelf her hips and ass made under her back.
Behind her she heard the inside door open, turning around she smiled when she saw John standing at the door. The tall raccoon was smiling at her, his well toned body outlined by his clothing. "Hello hon," he said.
She waddled over to him, her hips shaking up and down under her dress, her large belly swaying side to side and acting as a counter balance. As she reached him he wrapped his arms around her body, hugging her and giving her a deep kiss.
"How is the car?" he asked as they broke the kiss.
"Fixed, but they wolf at the shop said if I keep driving it the suspension will simply break it two."
John smirked. "Then I'll have to buy you a new one won't I?"
Kelly smiled a bit, then kissed him again. She loved him, she had even since meeting him at the restaurant, and then on their wedding day. He made her life perfect, and he loved her for exactly what she was, a fat sexy raccoon woman, and didn't object if she got bigger.
Slowly she broke the kiss. "That seems fair," she said, and it finally was.

The Wages of Envy
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
For Keith, everything he wanted seemed to be just out of reach, whether it was getting up on time or keeping a job he could quite never manage it. Life was just unfair to him, as he would be happy to tell you, but even the universe can only take so much whining.
