(Fetch of course means to go and get something, but it is also a word for a small doll or action figure like idol that is used by a magician to cast spells on things that resemble whatever it is a model of. So one might raise a dead thing by using a fetch to animate it, moving the limbs of the doll to indicate by gesture that it should get up and rise from its grave. In some contexts the thing spelled or summoned thereby is also called a fetch, because it has been called and has answered, and has thus been fetched by the magician).
