Nicholas x Sky: The First Night
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Back with me and Sky, thanks to figuring out how to shade I can create night scenes like this and I love it. Also Sky in this in the trees reminds me of a very nice kitty who sadly isn't around any more. But she loved with the house plants to put her face in between them like she was in a jungle. Also notice how Sky is beginning to think differently of me even if it's only slight.

Time of Ninjas
The Road Builder
Karui was waiting for Nicholas, Sky, and those that would be coming on this. With the Fennec fox leading them, there were four other ninja, two from both clans for a total of five in total. Nicholas was the first to arrive. “Right on time as always,” Karui said with a smile.
“I can’t let myself slack off with Sky,” the fosky replied, ready with the weapons the Russian Blue had first seen him in and a small pack that held other things for the journey ahead.
“Speak of the devil,” the Fennec then stated. “I think she and the others are here.”
The other three made it. From Sky’s clan was a domestic short hair by the name of Serena. The other from the fosky’s was a male lupine by the name of Kagetora. “Looks like Nicholas beat us first,” the second male said with a smile to Mei and Sky.
“Barely,” the fosky replied. “Point is we’re all here now.”
“And you’re all ready for this; good,” Karui stated. “We’ll head out and meet our person. He’ll help us get to our destination from there.”
The five then took off. Sky noticed Nicholas was going forward with a determined attitude. The kind that showed he wanted this mission to be a success. Then the feline caught herself with realizing she was staring at him and shook her head. “Gotta focus!” Sky thought in her head with a frown.
The group made it to a small settlement. It was the kind that travelers stopped at and to rest at night before continuing on their journey. “He should be in the main building here,” Karui stated.
They made their way inside. Since it was late morning, there weren’t many here other than those who ran this place and a few guests who hadn’t left yet. However, one of the guests stood out. It was a male Japanese Wolf. Yes, in this world of ninja, they weren’t extinct and never would be. The lupine seemed older than even Mei. The male looked up and grunted as he got up, wearing a grey top that exposed his arms, a white length of rope around his head that acted like some kind of head wear, had short grey hair, and yellow eyes. “So you came here at last,” the lupine grumbled. “I was beginning to think you weren’t going to show up.”
Sky’s eyebrows went up in surprise. She hadn’t expected that the client would be a grumpy old bastard. “Anyways, I should introduce myself. I am Kyouraku a master road builder. I’m building a road there that will change our world and I expect you to get me there safely, even if it means giving up your life.”
“A pleasure I suppose,” Karui replied. “Well then, shall we get going?”
They all left the settlement and began their journey with Kyouraku now wearing a Japanese straw hat. “So where exactly will we be going?” Sky asked the fennec fox.
“To a place near the sea,” the vixen answered.
“That actually sounds fun if it weren’t for the mission.”
“Hey, at least we’ll get to see and smell it,” Kagetora commented with a grin.
“I know you for one love the water Sky,” Serena added. Nicholas heard that comment but said nothing.
“Hey, why so silent Nicholas?” the second male ninja asked, going up and mock punching the fosky on the right arm as everyone walked. “You haven’t been to the ocean in years. And with your power over water, this should be like going to a second home.”
“You got me there,” the long-haired male replied. “I do love the water and to swim in it. It’s always been that way since I was little.”
For some reason Sky heard that comment but didn’t know what to make of that information. “So what is the place called though?” Serena asked. “You never said what.”
“The village called Mizui,” Kyouraku answered. “It’s part of a three chain system.”
“I’ve heard about this,” Nicholas said. “Some years back small villages started combining together to form chains. Other became even larger into towns and major living areas. A city I think they call it.”
“Heh,” the Japanese wolf said. “Seems you’re more knowledgeable than you look. Yes, what you said is true. It started 30 years ago. I remember when it was just one but then two more came forth and we joined forces. In the end it was the right decision.”
“And others are doing it as well,” Karui added. “It’s not just us ninja for our clans trying to come together, it seems that some of the people of this vast country are to.”
A few breaks happened but then the time came to set up camp for the night. Kagetora here helped set the fire since that was the element he could control. The wood was also dry from a lack of rain and soon the roar of warmth and light was here. Serena helped the leader of this group with preparing the food as did Sky. Nicholas did his part by gathering water and looking out for enemies and making sure Kyouraku was comfortable. “You know this isn’t bad so far,” the Japanese wolf stated as they dug into the food. “Reminds me of younger days when I’d be out like this. I guess being busy as a road builder has left me with less time due to this project. I’d forgotten what it was like to be with young people.”
Sky also had to admit that even though Nicholas was here on this mission, it wasn’t all that bad. True, she remembered the past and how he had picked on her even if it was the kind a young boy does to a girl he likes. But so far he had seem professional about this. But that was as far as the feline’s thoughts towards him stood for the time being. When the food was consumed, the shifts for watching were figured out. Sky went first and up in a nearby tree among the leaves of it. The night was peaceful and although the feline was good with keeping a watch out just in case, the Russian Blue had to admit things were peaceful right now. However it was when Karui came to relieve her that the fennec said something after telling that to Sky. “You know you seem to be alright with Nicholas despite how earlier you voiced your opinions of doing this mission with him,” the vixen stated.
The feline’s eye brows went up and she let out an amused laugh. “Oh I still don’t like that fosky,” Sky answered with her eyes closed. What the two didn’t know was that Nicholas was still up right now and able to hear the two due to haven gotten up to get some water while being close enough to hear the two ladies.
“All the same, maybe you should cut him some slack. He remembered you after all this time and that was one of the things he said he was really looking forward to was seeing you again when we were going to your village.” Sky said nothing in response. “Look, you’ll see how much he’s changed in more ways than one. Just really give him a chance, okay?”
The feline still said nothing but returned to her tent. Sky didn’t know Nicholas had heard all that and was back in his tent, just laying down and looking up. “So… she hates me huh?” the male asked softly. “I don’t blame her since I was a brat back then; a real one to her. I wish I could’ve been much nicer to her when I had the chance. Well I’m gonna show her I have. After all, she’s grown so beautiful. If anything I wish I could see her face fully…” The male then rolled over to his side and went to sleep until it was his turn to watch. With any luck this would be the beginning of forming that friendship and then maybe an eventual relationship of love with Sky. Only time would tell.
