Khoumad became one of my absolute favourite characters to write as this regretful hitman. It was really fun to make him both a cruel professional murderer, but also a surprisingly cool guy outside of his work, the weird duality of being an assassin.

did a phenomenal job redesigning Kumonga, I love how this turned out. I made him Burmese because I recalled a south-east Asian name adjacent to "Khoumad", but also I wanted to add more non-Japanese characters to the Yakuza world because, as an alternate universe, perhaps their Japan is less homogenous with a more mixed populace. Turns out, it made his plight a lot more interesting, as another immigrant being taken advantage of to do terrible things.
