Lion of an Alternate Path

I should have known you were still out there somewhere 

The lion of a different path 

I guess seeing you again was something of which I should have expected more

After all I could have been you even if I don't think that's possible anymore 

And that's not a bad thing, you just happen to no longer be me 

Life just took me in a different direction but it's good you're out there somewhere being free 

Being you helped me along the way to where I am now 

You were fearsome, you were powerful, you were confident and strong 

But I've found my own new ways to be those things and more when needed 

Still I'm glad you've got your own life somewhere out there 

You were once a part of me after all who helped me a lot and I still care

Still it shocked me when I saw you again 

I didn't expect that or how quickly our encounter would suddenly end 

Somehow though I think I'll manage to find and see you again 

Whenever that may be I hope you're doing better than you were before you split from me 

Balancing yourself out better to hide less behind a facade and surviving more easily
