Boeing B-29 Superfortress - USAF Museum 04-18-2017
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
The B-29 was designed as an evolutionary replacement for the B-17 and B-24. It was used in the Pacific where it could reach the Japanese main islands from distant airfields in Guam, Saipan and elsewhere. This is the Bockscar, the plane that dropped the nuclear bomb on Nagasaki.

TRIVIA: The B-29 was the most expensive weapon developed in WW II. It even cost more than the Manhattan Project.
This ends my tour of the WW II gallery.

The Valkyrie was a much earlier experimental high altitude supersonic bomber.

Both are exceptional planes.
So you are in Erie. I have to get back to your zoo sometime. I live about two hours away in the Cleveland area.
Yeah, the Erie Zoo is pretty nice. They had some caracal kittens born back in the winter, and they should be out and about by now. =^.^=
I remember you saying you were in Cleveland once. I went over there last summer to visit the rock n roll museum. That was pretty fun, as I had been in a band once myself, and rock music has always been a big thing in my life.
