Not all of the game is that intense, but the entire playthrough was enthralling. Very challenging, but enthralling!

Agreed, the challenges are just about right I think... how about that water tree? Climbing that was "fun". XD

the end part of the Ginso tree was definitely one of the most challenging parts in the game.

17 minutes it took me (as measured by the time I got the achievement at the start to the one at the end)... I didn't feel THAT bad for taking that long though.

You play with controller or mouse and keyboard?

I finished it in under 5 minutes thanks to my laggy PC. Low frame rate gives you more time to think and plan. Some would say it's cheating.

It was also the best. That music and the general rushy feeling was beyond epic. It's also one of the rare times in gaming where doing a good deed will get you killed!

I agree. My only complaint was that in full screen mode I could still click out of the game and into one of my other monitors which caused the game to lock up. So I used window mode where clicking outside the window didn't lock it up... but it still meant I missed a click!

It's certainly a sad yet beautiful game. Fairly standard progression (and unlocks), but very enjoyable.

Dust: An Elysian Tale and Ori and the Blind Forest are definitely two of my favourite games ever <3

yeah part of what makes it so good is the fact that so many other games lack these simple elements.

I believe they are simple elements to understand, but hard to implement with creativity and uniqueness, not every developers is a writer and a lot of platformers today are developed by indie companies. There is no game that compares to the beauty, fluidity, animation, and creative world design of Ori and the Blind Forest. The difficulty in game development is to create their own unique design that isn't covered or overshadowed by other or better elements in other titles. I believe many platformers focus too much on challenge to where you need to execute a particular puzzle perfectly to the millisecond in order to beat it, while Ori gives a lot of room for error. Game developers may want to cater to hardcore fans that enjoy that level of challenge, but I don't think the majority of gamers want to spend hours on a simple puzzle or platformer because they can't execute a particular puzzle perfectly. The enjoyment I found of Ori is that my mistakes were obvious and it felt that I could realistically improve in a reasonable time frame to perform the said challenge, the game even allows for errors as well (If you hit a spike you're not necessarily dead until you run out of life, at least in most areas of the game)

To give credit to Ori's amazing design, their development team was sizable.

I'm just making a small point, I wish a lot of games were able to do what Ori does so well, even if just a little. Soooo much shovelware out there. Plus yes I couldn't have said it better myself :P

Indeed, I hope more developers look towards these masterpieces for inspiration :)

The best way I can sum it up is that the game was an absolute joy to play.
