The Green Fairy (by MoodyFerret)
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
He glanced at the queue as his chauffeur brought the vehicle around the block. "What an odd bunch of birds," he thought himself, unable to keep from staring at the costumes for a moment as the driver nestled the vehicle up along the curb and came around to open the door. As he did, the sound of even rhythmic pounding bass, the tempo of feet pounding pavement in flight, could be felt in the sidewalk as he placed his hoof upon it. A few heads turned his way, seeing who it was, and not recognizing him, turned back to their conversations, some with looks of disgust at his expensive pin-striped suit. From the dress of the crowd, it was clearly a themed night at the club... some kind of neo-Victorian goth thing... with all the boys in tailed suits and kid gloves and all the girls in corsets and veils. It was an interesting effect, and probably would be even moreso inside played up with the neon lasers and fog of the show. Some didn't like that he had come dressed out-of-theme, but he wasn't here for pleasure. This was business.
More disgusted looks were thrown his way as he approached the front of the line, and the bouncer recognized him immediately and, with a nod, let him in before the line.
The atmosphere inside the club savaged his senses. Bass hit him in waves that made his undershirt pat back against his chest. Heavily distorted synths over the top swirling and morphing in impossible ways, and all backed by the thudding bass drums. The show was equally incredible - all perfectly choreographed. The dance floor pulsed and surged to the beat. Another bouncer just inside the door wordlessly indicated a door, which he unlocked and held open for the stallion. It lead up to the VIP section. The horse nodded his head in thanks and proceeded up the staircase. As he rounded the corner, his vision was met with an eerie green light, that permeated the room, which was otherwise dark aside from the occasional flashes of the blast-strobes on the dance floor coming up through the balcony window that lined one wall and gazed down on the patrons.
There was a bar here, and it was occupied by the single most dazzling creature he had ever seen - a beautiful and cold snow-white fennec boy, dressed as an absinthe fairy. He matched the room so completely, it was as if the green light came from him. He was alone, sipping an absinthe cocktail from a fancy crystal cocktail glass, and eying the stallion that was staring at him. He took a sip of the drink and then smiled. "Well you must be Khenteshi. I'm Etheras." the fennec said quite simply, standing and approaching the stallion, paw outstretched. But Khent couldn't help but keep staring. This was the terrible Etheras? The one everyone was afraid of? This tiny effeminate boy? Khent gathered himself enough to take the gloved paw, which he brought to his lips and kissed the back along the knuckles.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, Etheras" Khent choked out, gawking now as the fennec turned to go back to his barstool, giving the stallion a nice look at a pair of perfect white rumpcheeks hugged by skin-right fabric that left almost nothing to the imagination. "I hope its not inconvenient for you," Etheras continued. "I like this club for conducting business. Its a nice public place, good security, decent drinks, music, and atmosphere... if you're into that kinda thing.." the fennec turned back, taking a kiwi wedge from the edge of his glass and sucking on the side as he appraised the horse. "I think I could get into it," he said a little lamely before clearing his throat. "... and yes, I really do like the... atmosphere."
Etheras grinned, and trotted smartly back to Khent, stroking a finger down the front of his shirt... whether as a tease, or to wipe the kiwi juice from his finger wasn't clear, but the thought of either one made his sheath stir. "Ah-ah-ah!" Etheras tsked, "Business before pleasure, my good stallion. Now... I've heard that your firm is working on a new type of truth serum... "
