After the war and after being free from her eternal hell of immortality, Kanya still had misgivings about getting too close to any one lover. True, she would 'technically' grow older with them until their death, but her timeline of aging was incredibly slow compared to anyone else due to her dragon blood. Sometimes she would be lost in thoughts of her future without them and she'd lose track of the present. She would need to be dragged back into the moment by her lover. There was a cheetah she fancied in the years following the events surrounding Taylor Renee Wolford and she stayed with him to the end of his days, but she struggled to be there for him emotionally. She knew he didn't deserve her distance and required her to focus on him whenever she could. A little moment of pause as he stopped his advance to let her work through her inner turmoil usually was enough - nibbling patiently until she felt ready to continue their passionate embrace, now fully committed to enjoying that moment with him.
