mIRC settings

I have been trying to set my mIRC to connect through a SOCKS, but my firewall keeps on blocking it. I checked out my firewall (Norton) but I can't find where I have to change the settings. I have found a list of applications, but a list of ports (1080 is the one I need). Where do I find it?

Does this also concern changing other settings (like NIC)?
