CD ROM to Drive

This summer I'm living in an apt with a lot of people and space is limitied, so I've decided to use my computer as a CD player, this leaves a problem though some games I play require the cd to be in the tray when the game is running, esp Sim City 3k. I've tried straight copying the CD to the hard drive and it still asks for the CD. Is there anyway to get around this so I can just run it off the hard drive?
