Visual dispatch
Aesthetic treats for November
Ask any creative and they’ll tell you that collage is probably one of the best visual methodologies to invent and think through aesthetic ideas. I often use it as a tool to deal with contradictions, tell stories and create a system of knowledge that is beyond language and traditional theory.
I’m reminded of what Andy Warhol said in an interview: ‘I never read, I just look at pictures.’
While I identify with painting as my primary visual art practice, collage has been super foundational in shaping my composition skills and really thinking about how the language of figuration and abstraction meet each other. Working with found images is something I haven’t exclusively shared but my recent deep dive into my archives from 2019-20 brought up some really interesting works that I had completely forgotten about! Some images are excerpts from old zines I developed during Covid era (will write a piece on this separately), and some are loose explorations.
You may also discover the first inklings of my writing journey :))

Hope you enjoyed this visual dispatch, the first of many more to come!
Thank you for supporting my work! 😊
