Sounds like you have a possible burnout situation. Try decreasing the friction needed to start drawing and increasing the friction to play games. For instance, I have Krita launch automatically when starting my computer, uninstalled Steam (I have a Deck so the computer doesn't need to be a gaming device now) and by default have my keyboard to the side and my drawing tablet front and center. I need to physically move the tablet out of the way to use the computer comfortably for anything else.

Commit yourself to drawing for 2-5 minutes. Only that much. The hardest thing is starting so once you do, usually you will keep going. But committing to a small amount makes it easier for your brain to get started. It can be tough but keep with it. Good luck.

some archiving services have slowly been removing any and all links from 8chan in order to preserve threads you must either Use services that wont ban 8chan archive links or possibly a mix between screencappping and even pdf files.

8chan seems to be slowly coming back online.though who knows whether that will last In either case we now know just how much of our content we risk losing and how vulnerable we are as a community. It's interesting you brought up these points as most of them were something I actively decided not to do (thicker outline, ruled backgrounds, colour palette). Not saying it was the right choice on my part, in fact I think the freehand backgrounds in particular were a huge mistake, but just to be clear I wasn't doing this as a direct style study. So the intent wasn't to look just like Mucha.

All your suggestions likely would have made the pieces look better though, minus the yellowing. As the other anon said, I'm guessing the originals were not that colour and it's an age thing. But who knows. I grabbed some random palette that was labeled art nouveau rather than dropping colour off a Mucha piece and was pretty happy with the way the colours turned out.

Next piece has ruled borders already at least. I'll experiment with line too.

I get it, but on the other hand there's so much yellow-ish works of his, and his art is not THAT old that I think it could've been intentional in a number of them. For comparison I searched other artist form that period or older and while many results showed degraded paper/canvas, I didn't get the consistent feeling of intentional "yellowness" from them. Some (like Van Gogh) return almost no yellowish results, while others (like Rembrandt) have everything yellowish, but its clear its just the age.

Now that I think about it, its also possible Mucha sometimes just used paper that was already a little yellow, I remember buying a few sketchbooks that didn't have perfect white paper, but ever so slightly yellow.

I see. Though with how similar they are I think its best to either go further into imitating his style, or clearly diverging from it, only leaving some parts.

I think Mucha-like lines also just work for poster art. (and I also just personally really like it)

Oof, crïnge. Generally a bad idea, but also (for me at least) making palettes and choosing colours from the color wheel is just fun. Deciding if a given color needs more yellow, or blue or whatever was just enjoyable for me. Picking colors from Mucha is also not a bad idea. Or picking from Mucha then deciding if you want to alter them.

Slow as /monster/ goes, I feel there is some merit in starting a new thread every now and then. I feel like I should post a lot of the new Fire Emblem shadows characters somewhere on the board for people who like the game series.

Also, I just want to ask people how laughably horrible my proposal last thread to monsterize the girls from class of 09 would be, no matter how much I stress it's in jest, and what monster species would be the most hilarious to turn Nicole and Jecka into. I feel there could be some comic potential there, but if the source material is going to be seen as hot garbage around here, you're free to ignore that.

Aside from that, it's business as normal.

Not exactly "old" but she isn't "young" either (though you reminded me of pic 1 related, which I found while I was browsing for big breasted tennis players, funnily enough). I figure she's followed the guy around since he was a kid as a simple breeze and then properly manifested once mamono mana came into the world. As an elemental, she's kind of a fey, and so I'm not quite sure where her actual mental age would be. I'd say that story wise the flow would be:

What's that pic from by the way? It's looks very familiar but I can't say if it's from a mythology animation or something from like a Dragonlance movie. I've gathered that Perun was the Slavic pantheon head, but that's only made my curiosity grow.

Newest chapter has the gang taking a trip to a water park, and all the hijinks that ensue. Suu's mom is introduced and, funnily enough, she's the most level-headed of the mothers we've met so far. I'd expect to see more of these 'Greater Species' in the future. Crabman was also nice enough to throw a couple colored pages in the beginning.

After almost ten years from it's original run Dungeon Meshi has ended. The group gets to enjoy nice meal together after saving the day and turning Falin into a monstergirl. Okay, read the first chapter, quite fun, but also really different from his previous work. In Tora Tsugumi he was much more restrained with faces from what I remember, here he goes all out quite often.

Recently I've been reading Reiwa no Dara san. It's got a whole ONE (1(一つ)) monster girl, but I really like her. She's a six armed snake woman. The manga is a little similar to Otaku Elf, you have some ancient monster girl who plays with modern otaku stuff (Elf just likes it, Dara is pushed into it by the children of the priestess of the mountain she resides on) and occasionally she talks about the past from few hundred years ago. But unlike Otaku Elf, this manga is lewd and way weirder. Sometimes also cruel or sad. But generally its a comedy.

Disclaimer: one of the main characters is a trap (the blond freckled one). At the very least he likes monster girls and women with large breasts, so he's not a fag, despite dressing like one.

A plant girl was going around being a slasher villain to get back at some lowlives who messed with her. One of these people, a chubby anon type of guy, was actually her crush, because he was the only one who was honest and kind to her. She wanted to kill his brother, so he had to stop her. To do this, the chubby guy got in his truck, made some molotovs, and threw them at a car wash full of niggers. This somehow drove her off. After fleeing the scene and then coming back because of course he would do that a cop asks him if anyone shot at him. The guy then checks his own body, and sees a message from the plant girl: her phone number and the words "Call me, I love you."

Then the guy spent the rest of the dream in DMV Hell trying to get his truck registered.

Well, in terms of material to make mgs out of, there's Vampires, zombies with a bit more coordination and intelligence compared to landlubber equivalents, zombie ogres, some aquatic versions of Vampire Count units, the whacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-men from hell, various undead sea creatures, and a construct that's basically 50 zombies wearing a boat-trenchcoat.

Actually, you just gave me the idea to make the Altdorf Zoo’s Imperial Dragon-girl the lovechild of Sigmar and Miao Ying from that 2500 year-old tryst. Both Miao and the ID have “Cold and Aloof” described as prominent personality traits, so I had hoped to draw a connection between the two.

The Imperial Dragon Girl will be part of Karl Franz’s harem, and yes that will make Miao Franz’s Chinese mother-in-law

I am gonna have to find a way to justify Sigmar’s disappearance/ascension in a way that doesn’t make him look like a deadbeat though.

Konbanwa, my name is Bromont. I write dumb shitposts on imageboards and assorted storytimes for perverts and people who need a distraction from hard times. I enjoy it.

In recent years, I've been developing a visual novel/assorted media series called 'Crave for the Grave.' This thread is for the development of the visual novel, it's not a cyoa, that's a different thread. I'm making this thread because I enjoy recieving feedback from everyone. Whether that be 'what color hair should this character have' or 'how big should this lamia's boobies should be' or 'should I add this silly concept to this narrative?' I encourage anyone interested to participate and voice their opinion on whatever I make, or if you have something to add, go ahead. Do not feel shy or discouraged, I really do like hearing what other people think. Staring at words on a screen day in and day out scrambles the brain and sometimes I need an outside perspective/opinion to help me get my head out of my ass.

So Crave for the Grave is a homebrew setting, a sort of amalgamation of past concepts and the usual passion for monster girls. The setting itself is a blend of occultism and theology, dark fantasy/science fiction, my odd brand of comedy, lewdness, and most important of all, endearing romance. Vanilla romance, I'll specify. No futa. No NTR. No cuckshit. No furfaggotry. No regular faggotry. No degenerate fetishes involving unsanitary bodily functions. Just more or less the pursuit of mutual happiness between a human male character and a female character that isn't human or no longer considered human. Granted, bad things are bound to happen, and the entire point of one canon faction is moral degradation, but it will never involve anything that I've listed above in the exclusions. Things that I would consider heresy are not welcome, but sometimes, love can get carried away. Rough loving, you could call it.

To be clear, this is not a 1-to-1 Kenkou Cross Monster Girl Encyclopedia copy, I'm making my own MGE so it uses it's own logic, but there will be, of course, similarities. I don't want a hug-box but I also don't want a grimdark edgefest, so I'm aiming for a blend so certain routes about being a happy couple have obstacles to overcome and it's not purely mindless segs. Practicing a pseudo pixel-art style, mainly just aliased lines and an A.I. filter. Remade a snake I drew a few years ago, not relevant to C-Grave but I figured I'd post her since it took me awhile.

Well, I can run the whole thing through another filter and clean up a chunk of the noise, so that it does look more cohesive. May be just down to preference, though. I like having certain parts less jaggy, like the eyes, but I think I can see what you mean.
