Pleasantview: Round One, Kaylynn Langerak Edition

Kaylynn has moved into a tiny, madeover home in Downtown Pleasantview, away from the suburbs, hoping to make a fresh start.

She spends her days cooking, tinkering, playing music, exercising, and keeping a positive attitude.

She got out of the cleaning biz in pursuit of a more fulfilling career (and possibly because of her reputation as a "home-wrecker"), which of course means needing to make new network connections.

In doing so, she meets Clarence Phillipine.

She's far more keen on getting to know you than your friend, Clarence.

Clarence and Kaylynn really hit it off.

Even with her life as whole on the up and up, sometimes Kaylynn still stretches herself too far.

Clarence's favorite pastime is astronomy. He's fascinated by the stars and what else could be out there.

Before long, the two tie the knot. (Church by beatdoc16.)

And then comes time to expand their little family.

Life is pretty blissful for Kaylynn and Clarence.

Maxis Wall & Floor Recolors; Desert Chapel

I have found that I really enjoy making over desert lots, but that I did not really have enough colors of stucco that I really liked. So I have recolored my favorite "Shadow Grey" Stucco, as well as various other walls and floors. To showcase my recolors, I made a chapel for my desert residents to be married at (when I'm not feeling lazy).

I have used all 42 of curiousb's color actions on "Shadow Grey" Stucco and the Mecha Mural E from Cognition walls, and have included my own white recolor. As well, I have recolored the EZ Evac, Inc.'s Neutral Restroom Tile in select curiousb colors and made a matching tile wall. I have also created even more recolors of my favorite "Pro Shower Tile". You can find the previous recolors HERE (although I'm considering redoing them).

Usually I try to label my swatches, but I got lazy. For the first two downloads, the swatches are in alphabetical order just as the file names are. For the EZ Evac, Inc.'s, I have included curiousb's color action swatch for easy pickings. And there is no swatch for the pro shower tile. I took a screenshot, but it ended up angled in a way that I couldn't properly crop it. Anyway, enough rambling. Onto the downloads!

So it's finally here! I totally meant to get this up last week, but I started classes on the seventh and things just ran away from me. I have plunked Jasmine into my pixel_trade hood, Black Mesa (by HugeLunatic), spawned some more townies, and began playing.

My challenge for this generation:

Hate the Playa... Better have that gypsy's number on speed dial! Your heir must go on 3 dream dates and 3 horrible dates.

Now let's get this started.

Jasmine Greengrass and her furry companion Einstein.

The house is a bit sparse at the moment and lacking some doors, but has space for her future family.

Those are some rather mature features for a paper boy.

Jasmine greets Bennet Nova ( ferretsims ) just as he was attempting to steal the already-in-the-house newspaper.

Einstein: Unhand me now, Pink Terrestrial, or properly hold me with two hands. (Bennett's hand got stuck like that when he attempted to steal the newspaper.)

Andrew Castaway ( petchy_14 ) stops in front of the house to stretch.

Maha Almassy ( raemia ) just wants to see who's the new person in town.

What a social bunch they are. Too bad she has no chemistry with either guy.

Rhianna Octobre ( simsarenotfood ) looks less than pleased about this turn of events.

More townie greeting. This time Yu Kim.

Jasmine seems most social with the townie teens, Frida Snaps ( snapun ) and Fox Sellers ( sixamsims ).

Not being the nicest sim, Jasmine decides to annoy Rhianna ( simsarenotfood ).

Three gorgeous men, and the only one to have any chemistry with her is Brad. A pathetic one bolt of chemistry.

And we have another possible contender stop by, the adorable Greggie Harpton ( chalkmetal ).

After a long day of schmoozing and being neighborly, Jasmine eats dinner and takes a nice hot bath.

Seeing as Jasmine's an active sim, I believe the Athletic career will suit her fine.

Einstein amuses himself by watching Jasmine do calisthenics.

Jasmine: Only... one... more...

What a gorgeous, voluminous-haired teen!

She doesn't have much money, but her bills add up to only §50 at the moment.

It's no secret that I'm a crazy cat lady, and here for you I have three kitties that would love a good home in your game.

I restarted my Rikers legacy since I still had some of the packaged sims from when my computer crashed, and of course with a new legacy I must have a cat legacy. The Rikers' cats, Heidi and Tango, had three kittens, all of which had pretty unique markings for a second generation.

Playtime! - FP7 Bolero Dress Recolors

So I've previously tried my hand at recoloring clothing with horrid results, but I liked how these turned out and thought I'd share them.

These are recolors of fakepeeps7's CF bolero dress. I absolutely fell in love with this mesh when I saw it, but--per her usual--most of the colors were horrendous. I have made the shoes a bit whiter and the patterns of the boleros are from colorlovers. Files are compressed and named for easy pickings, swatch included.

Buzz decides it's time to get back into the dating game, and has found a kindred spirit in Camryn Lee.

Ripp's not too fond of seeing his father suck face with his girlfriend.

The boys are a little cold toward her when she first moves in, but she hopes in time they warm up to her.

Jill was in this update more than she was with her own household.

Exhaustion hits these two pretty solidly.

Well, this is an interesting development.

Guess who aged up?

Everyone's growing up! Tank's rather sad about still living at home for the moment, but he knows his father's gonna need some extra hands around the house soon.

This picture can be interpreted in several ways.

They're both making the face, but for very different reasons.

Camryn's got news for Buzz, and she's not sure how he's going to take it.

Buck loves to cook and barbeque.

Camryn: To have or to not have another bowl of chilli?

I'm thinking Camryn will help Buzz to lighten up.

Buzz is a little apprehensive about starting over with this whole parenting thing, but is ultimately excited. He just hopes the boys will embrace their new half-sibling.

NOTE: Yes, I realize halfway through this entry I stopped editing my pictures as much. I find it easier to get pics out if I go for something a bit simpler in terms of editing. I'll try and be more prompt about posting pictures, but I will be starting two new jobs here soon, so I'm gonna have to see how my time is split. I've played through Round 2 of Pleasantview. I just need to edit pictures.

By the way, I should mention my "uberhood" consists of Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Belladonna Cove. Universities will also be played when there are playables sent there.

I finally created a simblr. (I hate that word.) Feel free to follow. I know I’m totally behind on my updating, and I have a lot of pictures to edit, but I’m hoping to at least get something out this weekend. Life’s been busy, to say the least, and when it rains, it pours.

I figured having a tumblr with some future snippets to come could, at least, get a fire going under me. Also, there are so many wonderful sims tumblrs to follow that I wanted just a tumblr to sort through sims stuff without interference of the many other things I follow on my main tumblr.

I had him head out again after work to look for prospective partners, but it was a sausage-fest, so I let him fulfill his want for a massage.

Melody brought home Tank from school and are pretty good friends. They have one (two?) bolt(s).

So Stephen put a pan of toaster pastries in the oven, only to have to go to work several minutes later, leading to this:

Might I add that Melody was home the entire time? She overslept and missed the school bus. Lucky for her, she never bothered coming downstairs.

A big hell-to-the-no from me when Wanda still managed to get herself knocked up. Fine. You two want a baby so badly, you can suffer.

Atomical!

As I attempted to makeover the Curious house several days ago, I realized that I just did not have enough colors of the flooring I wanted to use, so I finally downloaded HomeCrafter and got my butt to work. Well, it turned into less of needing an interior for the Curious' and more of a recoloring spree.

First up, I recolored the Maxis Atomica tile in Aelia's retro colors.

And in deciding that wasn't enough, I made walls to match using the floor tile as a base.

I then made a half-tile version, mashing up my wall tile with Maxis' craftwork plastering.

Seeing as I could always use more tiled walls, I then took the tile half of the Maxis sage half-tile wall and mashed it up with craftwork plastering.

And if you think I'm finished there, I'm not. There is more.

In needing more flooring, I recolored my favorite Maxis carpets, "Hey Jute" and "Snow-White". "Hey Jute" comes in all 42 of Curious B's colors and all of Aelia's Jewel tones, whereas "Snow-White" only comes in Curious B's.

Goth Children Remade

I was asked by suaper in this post if I could upload my remake of Cassandra Goth. As I extracted Mortimer and Bella Goth in SimPE and then used CAS to recreate their children with the creat-a-baby feature. I then did some sim surgery and voilà, Goth children that look like their parents!

The pictures feature them with my default skins (Pooklet's Rehash) and eyes (nnnilou's 'Onomatopoeia' set). The only modification to the pictures is merely some brightening. The two do not have their glasses, so as not to obscure their facial structures. I also did have my default face templates in my downloads folder when I recreated them, so their faces do appear smoother, but I did not modify Mortimer or Bella whatsoever. (I use a combination of templates from sets and separates by Oepu, Pooklet, Katu, and FantasyRogue.)
