It’s a privilege to support a fellow expat I've never met but have gotten to know a little better through insightful and entertaining writing.
A friend gave me Shannon’s first book. When I re-found her on Instagram after I joined the platform, I wanted to learn more because she’s a friend of a friend. Her podcast, Instagram, and Substack are full of practical decluttering tips and reminders to give yourself grace when you aren’t perfect.
As a mother who has both held a job outside the home and taken a leave of absence, I value this Substack for its personal experience, further research to explore, and poignant words. Whether you're a mom of young kids or part of the support system for someone who is, you'll find something that resonates here.
Anna has an impressive ability to build a community that really cares and wants to support each other. I’ve found several other accounts through hers. She writes about limb differences and while that’s not something to which I can personally relate, I can relate to the desire to create a more inclusive world. When I shared a post I’d written on that topic and she read it and commented, I was so proud. Here’s that post: https://slrobbins210.substack.com/p/lets-talk-about-differences
I am impressed by Courtney’s ability to deliver “food for thought” that is often humorous and backed by cited research. The ideas are realistic and encourage us to reflect on what truly matters to ourselves, all in easy-to-read pieces.
I appreciate Chris’ efforts to build community within his Substack subscribers. He seems to truly want everyone to grow and it’s not performative. His writing about his special needs son is applicable to everyone, not just those with a child who has special needs; we are all part of a global community.
Bri’s writing is easy to read because it’s so relatable. Like me, she’s a mom of two boys and a dog. Also like me, she’s working to make her love of writing more of a priority. Hers has become one of my favorite Substacks.
