Love YA lit? Love writing fic? Love writing fic for YA lit and wondering why there doesn’t seem to be very much for most books?

Join the YAlit100 challenge!

You MAY claim more than one table at a time.
You MAY do crossovers, fusions, and AU fic! If you intend to write crossovers and/or fusions, claim the table for the MAIN WORK (so, for example, if you want to write 100 godly-parent-fusion fics, your claim would be “Percy Jackson,” unless all 100 fics would star characters from Anna and the French Kiss or something. SOME ASPECT of all 100 fics must be constant for the book/table you choose!)
Fics can be ANY LENGTH. You may write 3-sentence fics, drabbles, one-shots, six-word-ficfests, whatever. The whole point is just to encourage more YA lit fic! :)

Oh my goodness, I'm so happy to have stumbled upon the URL for this community after so many years of going Whyyyyy does no one else on the internet appreciate the most brilliant YA series of the two thousands except for meee.

Anyways, the reason I'm posting is that for the longest time I've thought it a damn shame that the Jessica Darling series doesn't have its own TV Tropes page but was intimidated by the size of such an undertaking. Is anyone with me on this?

A few nights ago on E! Entertainment they had a countdown of most "Notorious Women" and Prom Mom (mentioned in Second Helpings when Jess was talking about how Pineville used to be fairly anonymous and only known for being a town over from the Prom Mom) was in the top five.

Sloppy Firsts came out 9 years ago today. How old were you, and how long did it take you to find out about it and read it?
I was 18, and a friend and I randomly found it in the bookstore and read it in about 2002 (when I was 19.)

Could anyone post or send me Chapter Twenty-Three from Perfect Fifths? The handwritten one. Either picture or text would be great.
I couldn't wait for it to come out here in Brasil, but the PDF I have is illegible. It was hard enough to read the Haikus, but Chapter Twenty-Three is really proving to be impossible even with a lot of Photoshopping.

Hello everyone! im quite new to this comm, and this is my first post. Im trying to make this notebook which is a compilation of some good quotes on the books ive read, and i need some quotes/lines from Sloppy firsts and Second Helpings since I havent listed the pages with the good quotes (i tried scanning and only have located the common ones - mostly w/ marcus haha. but i know there are a lot more nyc lines from jessica and i just dont have the time right now to read it page by page) So i'd be glad if you'd share some of your favorite quotes from the first two books of this series. thanks!

So my friend and I are going to be Jessica and Hope for Halloween...haha. We are going to a concert so we needed something easy and low-key.
The plan is that one of us will wear a "Me. Yes. Me." shirt and the other wear a white t-shirt with paint smeared all over it.
The books have kind of run together for me, and I'm having trouble finding in which book (and where in that book) it describes Hope's painting shirts. In the meantime while I'm still looking I thought I'd ask here if anyone knew off the top of their head.
And were there any other notable shirts Jessica wore? I can only think of the Me. Yes. Me one and Marcus' COMINGHOME shirt.
Any other ideas are cool too :) Thanks!

I just finished reading Second Helpings and in the back it says that Megan wrote Hope's side for twistedmagazine.com and of course I tried to go see if it was still there... six years after the book has been printed. Of course it wasn't there. Anyways, does anyone know if it actually made it to the internet, and if so... where can I find it?

real life perfect fifths moment

my boyfriend and i have been upset with each other for the past two hours or so for some reason or another. now that we're at the resolving phase, we're both trying to apologize, saying "no, it's my fault" "no, it's not, it's my fault." and in a very jessica-marcus like way that was funny to me because of a line in perfect fifths, my boyfriend just said to me:

"let's just blame it on barney."
those of you who have read the book will get the reference.

the reason why this is even funnier? he's never read the books.
