ATTENTION CAMPERS
Increased bear activity has been observed in our campgrounds. Store food securely and keep campsites clean. Do not approach or feed wildlife. Give mother bears and their cubs plenty of space, and never put yourself between them. For more information, see our Bear Safety Tips:
HARDIE POOL CLOSURE
Critical repairs and structural concerns have been identified at Hardie Park Pool during planned renovation work. To ensure public health and safety, the pool will remain closed while the County conducts additional engineering analysis and evaluates repair options. Please visit our Aquatics Programs page for more information.
ATTENTION BOATERS
Effective January 1, 2026, Lopez Lake and Santa Margarita Lake will require a 30-day quarantine for boats with internal ballasts or ballast bags (e.g., wakeboard and ski boats). Bleach decontamination will no longer be accepted.
All vessels must pass an initial inspection (CLEAN, DRAIN, & DRY) to receive a quarantine tag. The boat must then remain out of water for 30 days. After the quarantine period, and with a valid tag, the boat may launch. Before leaving the lake, visit the Ranger Station to receive a clear tag to bypass future quarantines. We appreciate your understanding. This is a critical step to protect our lakes from invasive mussels.
