This morning I get to fly to Toronto for a conference and convention. I get back into town Sunday night. The CEO of the company is flying there all the way from Nottingham England to give us a presentation.

My flight is at 9:55am. I should probably get a full nights rest before going to the airport but I'll probably end up just sleeping in. Instead, I'm gonna stay up all night and sleep on the plane. The flight should be around 6 hours.

So I get to be in Toronto again for almost a week but I'm probably not going to have any time to actually do anything fun. The conference is all work and I gotta work the convention. An even bigger slap in the face is that I found out that TFcon, the largest Transformers convention in Canada is happening the SAME DAY in Toronto. Unfortunately I'm on the other side of town working the OTHER nerd convention. lol

I'd just gone to bed and just gotten comfortable when I heard a screeching and then a loud BANG outside.

'THAT, was a car accident.' I think to myself.

I quickly throw on some clothes and head out to check it out. At first I thought it was a head on collision. Turns out it was a parked car from my block that was hit. The Audi that hit the parked car was totaled. The parked car, was thrown half way down the block, up onto the sidewalk and knocked down a tree. It was trashed as well.

I saw a guy and two girls from the car and ask if they're alright. The guy tells me he's okay and I should mind my own business and go away. I smell alcohol in his breath. Uh oh.

I hear one of the girls crying in Vietnamese into her cell phone, not 911. A white Celica pulls up and picks up one of the girls from the Audi and speeds off.

I go down the block before calling 911 on my cell phone. The emergency crew shows up a few minutes later. The guy and other girl from the car had decided to ditch their car and bolt down the street and I point the cops in their direction. The cops come back to the scene with the guy and girl.

I get to go home and back to bed as the cops interview the witnesses who actually saw the accident happen. I can hear one of the cops interrogating the guy from the car from my room.

I sometimes park in that corner where the parked car was hit. Geeze, good thing I didn't park there tonight!

Every year my family usually goes out to some Chinese restaurant for X-mas dinner. This year we went to the Fortune restaurant in Oakridge mall. I was running late when I got there and I see two fire trucks and an ambulance parked outside with their emergency lights on. I find our table and it turns out someone in the restaurant had a heart attack and the EMS crew were there trying to resuscitate him right BESIDE our table.

My grandmother is raving about how this is bad luck and most of the rest of the family can't stop turning their heads to look at what's going on as my aunt is scolding everyone to mind their own business and try to ignore it. Eventually my aunt gets another table with my grandmother and comes back when the paramedics hook the guy up to portable life support and finally cart him out. The paramedics were probably working on the guy for about an hour before they finally got him out.

It's now what? Week 7 of the garbage strike? My bins outside are full and I've even filled the lawn trimmings bin with trash.

So thanks to the piling trash, my house is now infested with fruit flies. At first it was just a few hovering around the garbage can. But now they seem to be absolutely everywhere and their numbers increase exponentially every day. I set up a strip of fly paper and within 5 minutes I had caught about twenty of them. Half an hour later and there's too many to count. The latest bag of garbage is now double bagged and outside on the back porch. My biggest worry is that the local wildlife will get into them and spread the trash all over the yard. That'd be perfect... not.

Sheesh, I need a better way of getting rid of these flies.

Tacquito Adventure!!!

At 7-11 they have this tacquito that tastes exactly like a McDonalds cheeseburger. Only a ZILLION times better. I've only had it twice since it came out and I think it's the best thing in the world. Tonight I had an unnatural craving for the Cheeseburger Tacquito.

I drive up to my local 7-11 on the corner of Nanaimo and 1st Ave. They're all out. I have the Cheeseburger big bite hot dog instead hoping it would satisfy my craving. It doesn't. I drive up to the next closest 7-11 on Broadway and Nanaimo only to be disappointed once again. I muster up the courage to go to the sketchy 7-11 on Hastings and Lakewood in the other direction only to meet up with disappointment once again.

Feeling defeated I drive home. As I near my block I feel my insatiable craving for Cheeseburger Tacquito once again overcome me and I race past my block on my way to the next 7-11 I could think of. Kingsway and Joyce. I had the cheeseburger tacquito there once before and I'll have it again! I arrive at the 7-11 on Kingsway and Joyce to find every tacquito EXCEPT the cheeseburger tacquito. I tell the clerk the story of my quest and he tells me to keep on driving up Kingsway to the 7-11 on Kingsway and Royal Oak.

I arrive in front of the 7-11 at Kingsway and Royal Oak and before I could shut down my engine this woman in her 20's comes up to me and asks for a ride home. I'm caught a little bit off guard and don't really know what to say. She's drunk and reeks of booze and I can tell she's been bawling her eyes out. She tells me she's been stranded by her friends and can't get home. First I ask if I could call her a cab. She says she only has $3 on her and can't afford the cab. I ask if I could call anyone for her. She replies she doesn't remember anyone's number because it's all saved in her phone which she doesn't have on her person. She goes on her knees and begs me to drive her home and I finally agree. The weather tonight has been pretty awful after all. She tells me her name is Darcy. I drive Darcy back to her place near Edmunds Station where she thanks me and gives me the only $3 she has on herself as compensation. I still crave cheeseburger tacquitos.

I head back to the 7-11 on Kingsway and Royal Oak only to find out that the grill is closed for cleaning for the night. Damn. The clerk there tells me that tomorrow is the last day to get the Cheeseburger Tacquito. After tomorrow, they'll be promoting a new flavor. Great. I drive back down Kingsway towards home and remember there's a 7-11 not too far away on the other side of Metrotown on the corner of Imperial and Central. I swing around Metrotown to Imperial and Central to find that the 7-11 there has been closed down and replaced with a Town Pantry. Crap. They definitely won't have cheeseburger tacquitos there.

Then I remember the 7-11 I used to go to in my old neighborhood on the corner of 57th and Knight. They'll have it for sure! I head in that direction and on the way I come across another 7-11 I didn't know about on 54th and Victoria. I decide to check it out and their grill is closed for cleaning as well. Praying this wouldn't foreshadow the events to come I continue on my way to the 7-11 on 57th and Knight. I arrive and Hallelujah! They have a pair a Cheeseburger Tacquitos!!! I buy both of them and a slurpee and tell the clerk of all the trouble I went through tonight to look for Cheeseburger tacquitos. The clerk laughs and throws in a third random tacquito for free for all the troubles I went through tonight.

Mmmmmm..... and they were all delicious. ^_^

So tonight puddingpuff and I went down to check out the Richmond night market. We get off the Bridgeport exit to find that it's a bit backed up. I can see the reflection of emergency lights from around the corner so I'm guessing there's an accident up ahead slowing down traffic a bit.

Then this guy behind us who must be in some kind of hurry is honking at us like crazy and I'm thinking, com'on man, traffic's backed up, it's not our fault. Then he revs up and drives over the shoulder to pass us and the other cars to get ahead... only to come screeching to a halt in front of all these emergency vehicles cleaning up this accident.

The lane we're in is the only lane open and he's not in it. He's sitting there across the road waiting to get into the single lane which is open with this "I'm a dumbass/annoyed" look on his face.

I've got the top down on the car and puddingpuff and I are looking at him and laughing HYSTERICALLY as we pass him.

We're a block down the road when he finally catches up to us, rolls down the window and yells, "At least I'm not an ugly Chinaman!" and drives off while we laugh even HARDER!!!!

I couldn't believe he said that in RICHMOND of all places! I couldn't believe that was the only insult he could think of to throw back at me. We found it amusing that he just kept making a bigger and bigger douchebag out of himself. It seriously made my night. ^_^

I stopped by the Fido store downtown hoping I'd find a new battery for my five year old phone but unfortunately they don't carry batteries for that model anymore. In fact, the girl helping me out was surprised my phone was still working after all this time. She suggested I get a new phone and a new contract to get it for cheap. She showed me a variety of phones and I went with the Sony Ericsson Z550.
