These are not controlled experiments. They are merely reprocessing of existing cases with simplified data sources that happen to correlate with the outcomes.

Anyone can make a diagnosis, even without looking at a patient. Do it enough times, argue the failures were anomalies or unfair comparisons or just don't mention them, hype up the successes. Post on TikTok.

(and for the experts: always look at who is paying for a reasonable looking study, and list all the biases you can think of up front)

I did that too. Had the Samsung VR headset, enjoyed it regularly until it was discontinued, bought an Oculus on the assumption it was the same, only better hardware. Used it 3 times ever. After a year, I threw it in the trash.

Software quality matters, when Meta purchased Oculus, the balance moved into negative territory.

Israel was the instigator of this crisis. It is a theocracy with a veneer of democracy, that has been unable to live peacefully with its neighbours for 3 generations, mostly due to a Chosen People complex as big as the Orthodox population. As an experiment in relocation after WWII, they have been showing the world what not to do.

It's much, much worse than that. Amazon books since 2023 are often AI generated slop. Garbage through and through, maskerading as anything interesting. The company simply don't even do the simplest checks about what they accept in their inventory.

I never buy books post 2022 any more. The only exception is if I know the author. New authors? Sorry, you can blame the tech bros.

I do however still buy a lot of older books. I've seen the near future, and the information pollution is going to get worse before it gets better.
