And the lies continue

OK we're three weeks further with my floor. In the meantime I've contacted the contractor that built my house and yesterday they came to grond down my concrete floors. Oh my GOD what a mess does that make. They take a floorpolisher kindof machine with teeth underneath and literally grind of the top layer on concrete. I'm still coughing up dust.

Zo afterwards I call to make an appointment to get half of my floor put back, mind you I have to go to the whole proces once more for the other half of my appartment (IE move all furniture to living room, floors out, grinding concrete down and floors back in again)

The guy has the nerve to start talking about money, he's the guy that says he warned my (WHICH HE MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT) and wants me to try and get my contractor to pay for him putting back the floors in again. Well first I need the contractor to grind down my floors and afterwards I'll see if he is willing to pay me some recompensation. But for now I am not going to bring that up, since my major problem is the floor itself and he is fixing that problem free of charge.

So I told I would be willing to try that, but that he would need to put the floors in anyway. He got really mad and accused me of lieing to him. A*hole! it's totally the other way around. But in the end he agreed to put the floors back and told me not to get recompensation anymore, wel OK. so for now I'm OK. sigh, why can't things ever just go smoothly. no pun intended.

GRRRRRRRRR don't lie to me in my face people!!!

OK so my laminate flooring has gone bust. I called the guy who sold me the floor and who had placed it in my home about 1,5 years ago (Mind you my first complaint was over a year ago!)

So the plan was that they were going to replace my floor today and tomorrow. IE all my furniture is currently stacked in my bedroom (I can just reach my bed) and my living room is empty.

They pull out the old broken floor and start checking the concrete floor below it. It turns out that the concrete floor has a large bump in it. You can't really see it with the naked eye but if you place a board on it it is most definately a bump. OK bummer and I'm currently covered in concrete dust cause they didn't put the flooring back. First the concrete floor needs to be corrected.

So in my opinion they never should have laid the floor down in the first place, but now all of a sudden the guy who laid the floor: "Well yeah I did warn you about the bump".

OH NO YOU DID NOT. AS IF I AM TURNING MY HOUSE UPSIDE DOWN FOR FUN!!!

I can take it when people make mistakes, but damn! don't lie to me that I will not stand for. So now with an operation of my foot next week, I'm in deep shit with my home. No floor and crammed up in my bedroom.

I hate people who lie!

Instructions: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen fictional characters (television, films, plays, books) who've influenced you and that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.

OK in no particular order:

1. Lessa & F'lar (Dragonriders of Pern)
2. Superman
3. Jack O'Neill
4. Daniel Jackson
5. Johnny number 5 (Short Circuit)/ Wall-e (they sort of blend together a little)
6. Luke Skywalker
7. Indiana Jones
8. Horatio Hornblower (Ioan Gruffud's version)
9. Jack Harkness
10. T.C. McQueen (Spave Above and Beyond)
11. Merlin (In many different stories, movies and tv-series)
12. King Arthur (different stories, movies and tv-series)
13. Dr. Who (Tennant)
14. Robin Hood (again many different stories, movies and tv-series)
15. MacGyver

Other that just didn't make the short list:
Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Seabert, Smurfs, Hannibal Smith, Stringfellow Hawke, Micheal Knight (Just for sgtSiler *eg*), Fabeltjeskrant. etc. etc.

I hate stupid customers!!!!!!!!

So last week I had a court case. I told the person up front that he had absolutely nothing to go on and that he would be evicted. Our goal was to strike a deal so that the eviction wouldn't be immediately but not untill next year. That way he would get a chance to move himself and find another building to lease.

And we did strike a deal, even before we presented our case to the judge , the eviction wouldn't be untill next year as we had hoped. So that seems like a nice ending to a very problematic case. One that seemed absolutely impossible to win, I even checked with some colleagues if they had ideas or thought differently.

But no, it turns out that the customer isn't happy with the deal after all. He thinks he could have gotten more out of it. He wanted to know why I hadn't presented the case to the judge first and claiming that I had misrepresented him in getting him the deal.

I was flabbergasted and right down pissed. He was the one that wanted a deal, cause all other options were not acceptable to him, he was the one that agreed to the deal and now he seemed to be angry at me for that. I didn't force his hand at all, he was completely free in choosing wheter or not to take the deal. I told him that not striking a deal would mean a risk of having a judge ruling against him, but that is never a 100% sure. and eventually it would be his choice wheter or not to agree to the deal.

So now getting him the deal wasn't good enough and he wants to sue my company??!?!!??!?!?!

Asshole!

I love Mini`s!!!!!!!!!!

OK I've always loved mini`s and now that my old (read: ancient) sturdy (read: ugly) Nissan Micra from 99 is ready for a replacement, at least I think it is, I went looking for a nice second hand car.

After much deliberation I went to a car dealer last weekend and test drove a mini cooper. My god they are nice and a very good ride. The dealer offered me a very nice mini but I was reluctant to say yes right away. You never know what`s hiding underneath the bonnet so to say. So I took the deal to my own garage and got my own mechanic's oppinion. Right now it seems to good to be true, looks like there's something shady going on, but he'll look into it.

Ughhhh just when I had myself pictured in a mini already. But then again, I can wait another few months if neccesary, my little micra isn't quite dead yet. I'm just a little tired of it.

Look how cute this is!

Weight, the eternal battle of women all around

OK I'm fed up with it. Finally some might say, but none the less it took me long enough. I've always big a big girl/woman, never slender and always overweight. I always told myself not to let myself be bothered by it, and most of the time that worked.

A couple of years ago I lost a significant amount of weight by doing the Atkins diet. But when I started working a fulltime officejob it was had to keep eating like that and eventually I let the diet go. That and the officejob didn't do much good to my figure I can tell you. That and the fact that I'm a stress-eater, IE I eat when I feel stressed or bad and so on. in about 2 years I'd gained over 25 kgs and the last two years abother 5-10. Awfull much if I look back on it now.

Last march I was doing my weekly tennislessons and I just found out that I just couldn't run fast enough to the other side of the tenniscourt to catch a ball. Mind you, I wasn't playing badly, just didn't have the stamina energy or whatever to make it in time to hit the second ball returning towards me.

Two days later I was in tears at my nutrional advisor, with who I've been having regular visit for nearly 2 years now without any results. I was fed up with my weight, not because I felt bad, but simply because it was hindering me in my sporting and other daily acitivities. Looking back, I had finally made the decision to start working on it and make it happen. Cause if your mind isn't in it, your not going to lose the weight.

Weighing in at 118 kg at a height of 1,67m it was none to soon either. My BMI had gone up to above 41, which is in the morbidly obese category, and I'm only 27. Morbidly obese means my health is in serious danger and I was well on my way on getting diabetis at a very young age since it runs in my family.

---------------

OK let's stop the whining. My nutritional advisor told me that I wasn't allowed to go on any diets, since well they don't have a lasting effect and can be unhealthy. I was given instructuions on what to eat and when so that I would get hungry but still would start losing weight. Simply said it's two pieces of dark brown bread with low fat stuff on it in the morning, 1 cup of soup and 3 pieces of bread for lunch, one piece of bread in the afternoon or a small snack/fruit, and then a averagely sized (small you think untill it's all gone) evening meal.

After about 5 weeks I'd lost 6 kgs and now 4 weeks further another 3, I'd hit a little plateau, but I'm on my way again. So in total I've currently lost 9 kgs. Maybe that doesn't look like much, but it does mean that I'm already out of the morbidly obese category and into the heavily obese category. It's been over 2 years since I've weight below a 110 kgs.

I'm intent on keeping this up, alltough I've got my moments at which I just want to eat eat eat, and it's all between my ears cause I'm not physically hungry. Even tonight I'd gone up to grab something but put it back at the last moment, those moments are little victories for me.

MY first goal was breaking the 110 kg limit in about 3 months, but it happened after only 2. Now I have to set a new goal. I'm going to do this in tens, so up towards a 100 kgs.

But most of all I'm already noticing a better amount of energy. Oh and I started dancing again, it sort of is like con dancing but than the advanced class, Will try to post an example later!

*gets of soapbox*

New Dr. Who, kudos Matt Smith!

I watched the second episode yesterday and today I watched the confidentials. But by God how fast can a guy grow on you.

Dr. Who started for me with ecclestone, but only one season was hardly enough to grow attached to him so for me my Doctor was David Tennant. But I have to say Matt Smith is doing quite a good job.

Drunken Giraffe and all.*g* But also Steven Moffat al season Hail to our new lord for he is our saviour. *eg* And I really hate the smilies!

HP7 OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished reading the last Harry Potter book. No don't worry I won't spoil anything for you who haven't read it yet. I just read part 6 too BTW. For some reason I stopped reading that when I was halfway through. So last week when I bought the new Potter I had to read part 6 first. Started over cause I couldn't really recall all that I'd read so far.

And now for part 7. OMG I loved it. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me cheer, it made me sad, it made me happy. And how did she managed to let so many different things of all the previous books, which had then seemed of no point at all, suddenly it all came together. It suddenly made sense.

In short I loved it 100%. I'm actually sad the story is over.....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

OK now I'm angry. Lately there have been a lot of criminals that go around copying your pincards (bankaccount cards) so they can steal your money. I believe they call it skimming here, sounds pretty international right? So last night I was in a shop and wanted to pay with my card. For some reason it refused the transaction.

I didn't quite get it so after my dad paid for my stuff (Thanks BTW!!) I went to a cash machine. And the |?&%$" thing ate my card. So I called my bank to tell them and request a new one. The guy on the phone told me: "We have reason to believe your card has been copied so we blocked it for you. We will get you a new card in a few days."

The only good thing is that no money had been taken from my account yet. Phew! Cause in my paying account there happened to be a lot of money, normally that would have gone to my savingsaccount already (from which they can't steal it with my card, at least not that easily). But hey I had that computer to pay for.

So now I'm helpless and without my PINcard. GRrrrrrr Those darn criminals!!

New computer!

I finally did it. I bought a new computer. Cause well I have to give the one I'm using back to dad one day, and the old one in my room was kind of dying on me. Not that weird considering it only had a 486 MHz CPU.*g* It's a miracle it could handle XP.

So now on me new PC I have Windows Vista. So far so good. Everything seems to work and games look incredible. I'm getting addicted to Roller Coaster Tyucoon all over again. Still love that game.

Bought a 22 inch widescreen to go along with my new PC and it is SCARY! I came from an 17 inch crt screen, which is soo much smaller. Each and every time I see my new screen it kind of surprises me. Love it anyway cause well, it makes watching movies and playing games that much more comfortable.

I'm baffled, flabbergasted and just don't get it.

Red Octane I bow before thee. *g*

OK I admit it, I'm addicted. My little brother bought Guitar Hero 2 last thursday for his Xbox360. I had already played GH1 on his playstation but now it really rocks. Especially the two player mode.

For those who don't know GH, you get a controller in the form of a guitar and the game sorta works like Dance Dance Revolution, but now you hit the right buttons in order with the tones and accords that roll by on the screen. Here's a screenshot.

I tried to start on the level hard, and well it went quite well until the song Jessica. It's also the themesong for TopGear ( A show I truly love), sheesh that's a difficult song on Hard. Ah well, made it on medium though. I'll practice some more, I absolutely want to play freebird, I've seen my brother play it and it's a great song. Now just hope I'll make it to that song (someday I will!!)-.

I didn't think the second GH game would be better than the first one but it actually is. Some great songs are added and they make for great rocking!!

Lemon girl joins the flock

OK I have to admit I'm just another sheep in the large flock of Dutchies and couldn't resist creating my own journal. I blame sgtsilerand alientjefor this. After having read their journal I found this could be the ultimate spot to share the weirdness on the net with others. I often run into things I really like, but never really gets to sending it to all my friends by e-mail. (always afraid I'll annoy some of them with my weird junk). Ah well all who will read this are willing victims. Hope you enjoy.
