The little things that make the biggest difference
It’s often the little things that make the biggest difference. In times of sorrow, having someone who will simply listen and gently guide you can mean so much, allowing you to make the best decisions for yourself. I lost my father at the start of COVID, and Sky Casket delivered a beautiful wooden casket within 48 hours. When my mother recently passed, I chose Sky Casket again. This time, I selected an elegant casket that I know she would have loved—I can almost picture her smiling. Thank you for your kindness, your thoughtful conversations, and your guidance in helping me make the right choices during such difficult times.

Compassion and Support During a Difficult Time
During one of the hardest times for our family, Sky Caskets truly stepped up for us. We initially went through Titan Caskets and unfortunately did not have a good experience. The casket we received was not what we were expecting, which made an already painful situation even more stressful. When we contacted Sky Caskets, they went above and beyond to help us. He took the time to listen, showed genuine compassion, and reassured my mother that everything would be taken care of and that my brother’s casket would be perfect. That reassurance meant so much to our family during such a difficult time. Thank you to Sky Caskets for your kindness, professionalism, and for helping us honor my brother the way he deserved. We truly appreciate it.

Sky Caskets turned our funeral into a loving family memory
Sky Caskets turned our funeral into a loving family memory
It was very healing working with the sky casket staff. They felt like family. They kind of became family through the process. They were more than patient with us as they walked us through the process. When you lose a loved one you feel like you are walking around in a fog. We made mistakes and changes and they lovingly worked with us through everything. They were also able to rush our order as ours was a terrible unexpected loss.

The process very smooth and easy
No one should ever have to purchase a casket for their child but they made the process very smooth and easy as purchasing a custom casket could be. I wanted something special and as I was talking about it he was designing something I had in my mind. I shared the things my son loved from his favorite NFL team to his favorite musical group. And wow! I was impressed and excited at the same time. In my grief I had a sense of joy in what was being created for my boy.

Not sure I have ever had better service in my lifetime
Not sure I have ever had better service in my lifetime
Sky Caskets took care of my needs with compassion, empathy and patience. I called from Georgia to arrange for a casket for my father in Maryland less than 24 hours after his death. Mark and Colby, handled my order. It was not an easy task with emotions flowing, but they were great. Once I selected the casket and provided them with a delivery address, the casket was delivered within hours. The price was way better than going through the funeral home, even so, the customer service was spot on in the way they communicated with me and met my needs in a most horrific time. Thank you all at Sky Caskets.

Costco Casket did not arrive on time
I can’t rave enough about these gentlemen at Sky Caskets! What a blessing to run across their website. They were so kind and accommodating and Quick! Knowing our Mother’s life would soon end we were trying to prepare but the casket we ordered from Costco did not arrive as scheduled. We are so grateful for them and their loving service to our family.

Casket FAQs
Here is some information to assist you with selecting your casket.
The purpose of both a casket and a coffin is to provide a dignified way to house the deceased’s body. The difference between the two is primarily the design. A coffin has eight sides and is shaped somewhat like a body, whereas a casket is rectangular. While we don’t usually see coffins in North America today, this design is still typical in other parts of the world.
In practical terms, a casket is simply a container designed to hold the deceased’s remains. Caskets protect the deceased’s dignity and provide a beautiful way to have your loved one’s remains on display during a funeral or memorial service. The casket (or coffin) was primarily functional in the early days, but over time, the tradition of purchasing a casket based on design has grown to honor the person who the casket will protect. Check out our custom casket gallery for ideas on how family members have honored the lives of their loved ones with a personalized casket design.
Having a casket is not required by law. However, an alternative biodegradable container should be used for a loved one to ensure the transportation and burial or cremation is manageable and that the handling of the body is done respectfully.
We have standard metal caskets in what they call an 18-gauge thickness and a 20-gauge thickness. The 18- gauge is thicker and usually has nicer hardware, rounded corners, and upgraded interior material. Then we have a stainless steel option. We also have solid wood caskets, including poplar, walnut, mahogany, maple, cherry, cedar, pine, and ash. Lastly, our nicest caskets are made of all copper or all bronze material.
The cost of a casket is determined primarily by the materials used to make it. Pricing is not unlike that of fine furniture. For example, caskets made of rare hardwoods such as mahogany will be more expensive than those made of more common, readily available woods such as pine. The amount and type of ornamentation can also factor in the price. Funeral homes tend to have the highest markups, followed by retail showrooms.
Our most affordable caskets start as low as $1,000, and we often have a few caskets listed on our clearance page. Fortunately, there is a wide range of options in all price ranges with the most affordable caskets being made out of 20-gauge steel, and the more expensive caskets are made of bronze, mahogany, or oak. With SkyCaskets, you can easily find a beautiful casket to suit any taste and budget.
At a funeral home, you could spend anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 on a casket. With SkyCaskets, our caskets range from $1,000 to $5,000 for the same product you would get at your local funeral home.
We have caskets in a wide variety of colors, including gold, green, red, purple, blue, pink, white, brown, black, and silver, displayed on our website by color. Simply let us know what color you want, and we can find it for you. If we don’t have the casket color you are looking for, we can customize a casket for you and make it any color you want.
Yes, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires funeral homes to accept any casket purchased from an outside source. Read more about the FTC Funeral Rule on our “How Are Caskets Delivered to Funeral Homes”? blog post.
