This particular list includes an even mix of movies, books, comics, video games, and TV shows. A little somethin' for everyone. Aaaand go!

1. A nihilist tries to make a woman love him, but ultimately sets himself up for defeat.


2. Young man fights in the Second World War, goes home, gets married, is abducted by aliens, goes home, dies. Not necessarily in that order.


3. A convict on death row learns to read and speak a new language, one word at a time, and then solves the world's problems by yelling at them. "Skyrim" guessed by girl_undone.


4. Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles. It doesn't sound too bad. "The Princess Bride" guessed by silentstephi.


5. An enlightened old man, a young up-and-coming commander who refuses all promotions, an attractive female doctor, and an android go where no one has gone before. They usually would rather not. "Star Trek: TNG" guessed by isiscaughey.


6. Five teenagers have a spat with their parents and run away from home. "Runaways" guessed by fragilecat.


7. A man is let out of prison and is hired as chauffeur and bodyguard to a weird man who's conducting a secret war against another bunch of other weird people. The story is occasionally interrupted for history lessons or stories that are almost completely unrelated.

12. An austere northern aristocrat tries desperately to prevent his best friend's wife's family from screwing everyone over. He fails miserably. Meanwhile, a teenage girl has sex with a Genghis Khan expy, and decides to conquer the world. Her brother pouts about it, then has a bowl full of karma poured all over his head. 13. A unicorn has an identity crisis, gets turned into a human, falls in love with The Dude, and fights an energy drink mascot. There's also a talking cat. "The Last Unicorn" guessed by isiscaughey.


14. The (occasionally painfully long) adventures of a homeless man who lives in a box and claims to have a degree in medicine. "Doctor Who" guessed by fragilecat.
