SIZA is a subscription-based, non-profit organisation that streamlines ethical trade for South African suppliers by minimising costs, eliminating audit duplication, and offering a single, locally managed yet globally aligned standard for labour– and environmental compliance across all market destinations.

What does SIZA do for Suppliers?

The programme enables suppliers to gain recognition from local and international buyers by demonstrating compliance with sustainability standards, training & tools for continuous improvement. 

3rd Party Audits

Audits are conducted by accredited third-party auditing firms to ensure unbiased & credible assessments. They are aligned with global standards, benchmarked against international ethical & environmental standards, but customised for the unique challenges & realities of South African agriculture. 

What does SIZA do for Buyers?

SIZA provides buyers with verified information on supplier compliance, reducing reputational & operational risks.  The MySIZA platform promotes transparency & traceability by offering access to audit results, improvement plans & compliance statuses. 

Support and Capacity Building

SIZA empower suppliers, emerging suppliers & workers with training, practical toolkits & hands-on support to boost compliance, productivity & long-term wellbeing.

    Facts & Figures

    SIZA supports a diverse subscription with a total of 4,281 users registered on the MySIZA platform, including primary subscribers (producers and packhouses), secondary subscribers (exporters, importers, and retailers), and tertiary subscribers (audit personnel, consultants, GHG specialists). Currently, there are 2,306 active primary subscription profiles for the SIZA Social module and 1,327 for both the Social and Environmental modules. In addition, 869 sites are registered for SIZATrack360, with 44 having completed their carbon footprint calculation. Over the past four months, environmental audits grew by 260% and digital recordkeeping by 85% compared to the same period in 2023. SIZA trained 1,554 subscribers across South Africa, with 1,134 from the Western Cape, comprising 73% of all attendees.

    In this edition of the SIZA newsletter, we focus on strengthening confidence in South Africa’s agricultural supply chains through credible auditing, responsible management practices, and continuous improvement. From recognising best practices and enhancing audit oversight to reinforcing the importance of auditor independence, this issue highlights how strong assurance systems support transparency and trust across the sector.
