I gave those on the F-list two days to respond about whether or not they still wished to remain on the list. If you did not catch that post because you weren't on, just comment. But please read the following:

If you wish to be added to my journal -

1. Comment and tell me why

and

2. My LJ is, more often than not, profoundly personal. I use it as a tool to share the joys and sorrows of my life, and nine posts out of ten will include things that I am frustrated, sad or angry about. I don't do this to make people unhappy, or for any other reason than to vent. If you cannot handle that, do not ask to be added.

If you are here for my fanfiction, I have a fanfiction journal: oroz.livejournal.com and it's public to everyone.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh. Bad mood with bad, nasty, unjustified, irrational feelings.

Oooh I just hate people.

Time for a rant.

Shall I correct the above statement about hating people?

I hate guys.

Correction.

I hate Matt.

And... other people.

I hate crap. And stuff. And lotsa other things that I want to specify, but feel it would just be retarded to do so.

Matt has grown a whole freaking foot, made buddies with Stephanie again, and I hate it. I wish that stupid asshole hadn't made friends with me, and I wish I would have had the foresight not to make friends with him.

I hate that I'm his friend but he doesn't even notice me.

Not how I want him to.

I hate feeling sorry for myself because I feel that no one else will. Self pity then turns into self loathing for being so self centered and selfish. Self. Thats what I'm all about. Me me me. Can't even think about anyone else.

I hate how I'm treated sometimes. But I can't really expect any better if I don't treat people decently myself.

It's times like these where I wish I was somewhere else that would make me feel better. But honestly, I can't think of anywhere, which is scary, cuz it makes me think I'd be better off dead or sleeping. Or the people who have to deal with me would be better off anyway.

Wish I could be different, wish that I could have inside me what people want but never see in me because I lack it.

I want to be wanted by the people I want dammit. That truly is what I want.

I see people grow and slip away from me but really they're not any further than what the usual distance was because a scrub like me never had a chance to begin with.

AND I THINK PERSON "A" NEEDS TO STOP FILANDERING (yes i said filandering) WITH PERSON "B" OUT OF FUCKING CONSIDERATION OF PERSON "C'S" FEELINGS!!!

*sigh* I'm done for now.

In other news, I took Kerry to go see The Village and it was awesome. I had a great time, and I thank you Kerry for spending a part of your day with moi!

Morning Complaints Anyone?

Word of the Day for Sunday August 8, 2004

efface \ih-FAYS\, transitive verb:
1. To cause to disappear by rubbing out, striking out, etc.;
to erase; to render illegible or indiscernible.
2. To destroy, as a mental impression; to wipe out; to
eliminate completely.
3. To make (oneself) inconspicuous.

I almost had a nasty mood swing yesterday. I was trying to ward it off, but I'm not sure I did a good job.

Went to the drive in with Matt, Eric, Stephanie, and Matt's cousin Shane.

I was pissed because Matt didn't tell me *grits teeth* STEPHANIE was coming.

I don't think I can stand her.

Plus she smokes, and I tend to stay away from people my age who do that. I don't appreciate the act at all and it quite disgusts me. I have to deal with it at home, I don't want to deal with it around friends. -_-

Catwoman was the worst movie ever. I didn't even stay through all of Spiderman II because I was tired and had already seen it. And unlike the first one, the second one isn't really one you want to see twice, even though it was good. *yawns* I shouldn't have gone at all, I'd probably be better off right now if I hadn't.

And I'm sore, but I stretched it out like Lauren told me to, and I feel a bit better.

I burnt my tongue on my coffee. *sniffles*

So there are my complaints for the morning. Oh yes, I also got eaten alive by misquitoes at the Drive In. :|

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR.

I wish I could scream. I feel like I need to. Not out of anger or pent up frustration, but that I haven't done it in a long time. And it's fun.

I wanna go out in a field with a bunch of my friends and play baseball, make louds noises, swim in a creek, and get sunburnt.

*claws deeper into hermit-y cave* But I shan't, lest the sunlight burn me to death! Hisssssssssssssssssssss.

o.O Kung Fu was awesome. I definately want to start up. But I'm debating if I should drop college algebra for this year and just do it in college because my schedule is going to be.... very busy. I might just need first block to spend time on homework and other such things.

Plus when me and Kaylee were at the school, Mr. Christinat wanted to know if I would help him with yearbook this year. I was like, "Woah, I'll try but I can't promise nuthin." But then he gave me that "look" and I was like, "Alright Mr. Christinat, but you must realize that I would only do this for mah favorite teacher."

-_- So that's another boat I've put myself in.

And I've yet to break it to my boss that I'm going to attend classes for Kung Fu on Saturday as well. I don't think he'd mind if I would just commit to coming in at 6:00 am every morning and working until 9:00 am. Which I could do I guess, but it wouldn't be fun. Just like it wasn't fun today.

And I have NO IDEA when I'm supposed to enroll for Japanese at WSU. I talked to Mr. Manion about it, but I don't have the money to pay for it now, so I wonder if they would let me do a payment plan? I hope they're as flexible as Friends Uni was about that. Then again, Friends Uni are bastards and I hate them.

I'm going to go sleep for a bit. I'm feelin a bit off weather due to certain female ailments that occur once a month.

But hey, at least I didn't PMS this time. :x

Word of the Day for Saturday August 7, 2004

nonpareil \non-puh-REL\, adjective:
Having no equal; peerless.

OMG I had to get up at like 5:00 am today XB *is dead* I hate coming in to work at 6:00. It surks. (That's mah new word, surks). I'm so tired. But I'm all happy cuz I get to leave work early. Woo hoo.

Mom came home yesterday. She's doing okay. Had to go fill a butt load of prescriptions for her.

Toby, sorry I had to get off so suddenly, but your computer had kicked you off and I had to leave immediately to get the prescriptions. ^^ *poke*

*sigh* Simon hasn't been online. I think I may have offended him, not being able to talk as much as usual and having to get off so suddenly all the time. ;___; I'm sorry, life has just gotten hectic alluva sudden and I don't seem to have much time anymore. Forgiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. *bows apologetically* GOMEN NASAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII. XD

*sniff*

Word of the Day for Friday August 6, 2004

sui generis \soo-eye-JEN-ur-us; soo-ee-\, adjective:
Being the only example of its kind; constituting a class of
its own; unique.

Mom's on her way home. YAY!

Gramma sent me twenty bucks today. I'm not really sure why. I'm worried about her sending me all this money. I'm not entirely sure if she can afford this. o.O

But I suppose I'll use that to go fill up the car, since I'm almost out of gas.

Went to clean the school today and I worked my ass off. It was just me and Kaylee, but Santana was there so we worked on mopping and dusting the stairwells as a trio. Wee hee! I'm tired. And dirty too. -_- But I met the knew assistant Principal and the new science teacher. The new assist. Principal's first name is Zeke, and he seems pretty cool. The new science teacher seems amiable enough.

So if I'm correct, Jessica is going in for a cut, and maybe a style/straightening. I could cover the style/straightening if you can't cover it now. With all your guys' hair cuts and all the goodies I get because I brought you in, my entire do will be close to free, so don't worry about that. -_-

Lauren is going in for a cut and style, correct? Hold off on the color for nows.

Young Master Tobles is going for a cut and style, yes?

I'm calling Audrey and I'll get estimates on price. But I'm pretty sure that cuts are fifteen, and styles are fifteen. And Audrey makes her money off of tips, and when I went in and got my hair cut, dyed, and styled, I paid $70 and tipped her $20 (cuz she worked on me for like four hours), so I think for a cut and style you could get away with 7-10 bucks for tip. I can give rides I'm pretty sure if you need one. Ashley is going too for a dye. You guys, she's dying it *gasp* brown! No more platinum blonde Ashley!! *cries* I think she wants to wangle Michael into doing something with his hair as well. XD

Weee, Kung Fu and work in the morning! *dies*

A long day it was

Phew. What a long day. Got lost on the way to the Kung Fu class, but it turns out that it's located in the old Wichita Fencing Academy. I came in late cuz I spent to much time driving in circles. So I need to sit in on another class, probably next Wednesday.

If I do take the Mon, Wed, and Sat class, that'd be awesome, but I'd have to rearrange my work schedule a bit.... I bet Michael would let me do it, but I don't think it'd be convenient for anyone. Oh well. We'll just have to see how it works out.

There was a fire downtown. I'm not sure where it was, but I could smell it from the academy. It must've been pretty big. All of Old Town was filled with smoke.

Well, the neighbors are being... white trash. Ugh. Everynyan wish me luck tomorrow morning for the driver's test of doom.

... I need to spend some time tomorrow doing my chores...

Went to get my driver's license today. I actually got to take both tests, but seeing as though I failed the driving test (only gawd knows why) I have to return tomorrow to try again. -_-

Hopefully Dave will let me go sit in on that Kung Fu class after work. I really hope so.

I have to go to the school on Friday to help with a clean up because they laid off a bunch of janitors. I hope they didn't lay off Steve. He's awesome. Then I help with enrollment next week, Monday and Wednesday. Wee.

It was like two inches past shoulder length, and now it's hella short. o.O Omg.

He also put the fence up. Which rox. And another pleasant surprise is that when I turned on the computer, the CD burner worked. o.O I don't know if it will work AGAIN, but I was able to burn some songs I've been wanting burned.

Can't see mom in the hospital yet. She said she was in too much pain. I'm to go up there tomorrow before I go to *gulp* work. I don't want to go back to work.
A Review, As It Were

Word of the Day for Friday July 30, 2004

lapidary \LAP-uh-dair-ee\, adjective:
1. A migraine.
2. A fancy; a whim.
3. In the plural: lowness of spirits -- often with 'the'.

Word of the Day for Sunday August 1, 2004

apotheosis \uh-pah-thee-OH-sis; ap-uh-THEE-uh-sis\, noun
plural apotheoses \-seez\:
1. Elevation to divine rank or stature; deification.
2. An exalted or glorified example; a model of excellence or
perfection of a kind.

Word of the Day for Monday August 2, 2004

fructuous \FRUHK-choo-uhs\, adjective:
Fruitful; productive.

Here's my journal of events of the convention. I wrote it as we went along, so I don't think there's much missing.

Well, I didn't sleep very well Wednesday night, so I got up at 6:25 and stayed up all morning. Finished packing, then was off to the airport. Got there at 12:00 pm, checked in, and the rest of the crew, Toby, Lauren, Jessica, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith got there at 12:30. My first flight ever. Pretty cool. I got the window seat. The clouds were awesome. o.O Poor Toby had to practically undress when he went through security he was wearing so much metal jewelry. I had to take off my shoes.

The flight itself was pretty bumby but otherwise uneventful. We got to the Atlanta airport where it was HUGE and VERY crowded. Tons of people. We had an adventure trying to find this place in the airport that my mom said had the best cinnamon rolls EVER. It was called Cinnabon. Well, according to the map, there were two locations in which it could be found. It wasn't in the first location, and mind you, we had a mere thirty minutes to t4rack this place down. We had no idea about the Tran System, so we were running back and forth between these concorses trying to find this place with enough time to get something and be back before we were left behind. But remember, this place was HUGE AND PACKED WITH THOUSANDS PEOPLE. But, during the last minutes, we found the Tran System, were able to find Cinnabon, not enough time to get anything, but we remembered where it was so that we could stop by there in the way back, and finally got to our terminal on time. The next flight I got a little nauseous, but not too bad. It was a short flight from Atlanta to Baltimore. It took us a while to get to the convention center to get our pre-registration, but once we get there the wait wasn't all that long. Got a really cool badge.

The hotel was awesome. our suite had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room and a living room. There were three large tv's, a microwave, and a full fridge. Very posh. Though me, Lauren, and Jessica all shared a bed that was kind sized, I still ended up on the floor. It's just a personal space thing I guess. That or I didn't want my foot to end up in Lauren's ass. I might have had trouble getting it out, and it would have been a mite uncomfortable for her.

Next morning got up at the crack of 7:30 after Chinese food at 1:45 in the morning and Conan O'Brien, who, we decided, needed to be at Otakon. We also outlined our schedule for things we thought we might wanna do.

When we got to the actual convention center, the line wrapped around the entire two blocks, and spiraled in some places even. The doors were locked and they couldn't find the shmuck with the keys. But they finally sorted it out and we were some of the first ones in. XD We spent the first couple of hours taking pics ad had some breakefast at the Starbucks Vendor. We were scheduled to see the AMV contest at 9:00 and we were going to hold off on going to the dealer's room so that the crowd could thin a bit. Jess and Toby decided they didn't want to wait through the entire AMV contest, so I followed them as they took off to the dealer's room early.

It... was.... HUGE. GARGANTUAN. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I bought the following items that day :One Piece's Color Walk 1&2 (<3<3<3<3), a Kuro Neko pillow for Kaylee, a hanging knick knack holder (One Piece ), another Zoro pencil board (drool), Ashley's Sanji plushie, Simon's present *mysterious mysterious*, a Sanji coffee mug (a present for Ashley, I was half tempted to keep it myself), a Mechazawa mug <3<3<3<3<3(Cromartie high, my prize posession), Get Backers vol. 4, a study head band that says "Pass The Test" (I'll be needing that one this year), three new pins (a kodama, a One Piece flag, and the mouse from Spirited away), and a Megatokyo shirt for Michael. Thought he might have already have it but he doesn't.

After what seemed like many euphoric hours, our next event was the dreaded Para Para. Yous ee, I have no rhythm, and I wasn't really looking forward to making a fool; of myself. But it was a blast and it's something I'm looking forward to pursuing in the future. That was at 6:00 pm and we stayed at the convention until like 9:00. Went home, got some dinner and crashed.

Next day we went and spent some time taking pics and went to a webcomics panel. The creators of Mack Hall (sp?) and Apple Geeks were there. It was fairly interesting, even for one who doesn't read web comics. Lauren had a Full Metal Alchemist photo shoot cuz she was cosplaying Izumi, and Funimation was advertising the release of FMA by doing the photo shoot and giving out collectable cards and the likes. It was pretty cool. The giant statue of Alphonse was there again. XD Then we went down to the harbor which was right down the street. We ate lunch of a pavilion over looking the harbor (so cool) and then came back to the hotel so Lauren could change into more comfortable clothes for the Larc-en-ceil concert. I decided not to go, seeing as though A), I'm not particularly interested in J-Rock or J-Pop, and B), I had a nasty headache. I stayed at the hotel, took some tylenol, watched Antwone Fisher (very good movie, almost cried), then slept a bit. Got up and called Ashley, then met Jess, Toby, and Lauren back at the convention in line to watch THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME ZATOICHI!!! Best movie. Ever. I almost didn't get in though.

Jess and the rest of the crew had already been seated, and they were just squeezing people in by the time I got there. There supposedly wasn't enough room for me, but I know they had saved me a spot. I was pleading with the "Bouncer", who was about a foot shorter than me, to let me in because I knew they were saving me a spot.

"Well they're not SUPPOSED to be saving a spot for you, now are they?"

I snarled. Then Jess shows up at the door waving frantically at me. I point her out to the guy and say,

"See?"

"Well it still-" Began the jerk, when another staff member came out. He looked at me and saw Jess and said,

"I know her. Let her in."

I didn't know the guy from Bob. But wherever he is, I thank him.

But the movie was awesome. I must own it some day. After that we went to a rave and watched some people break dance. It was cool. We finished the evening at 1:45 am in the J-pop room watching music vids.

Next morning we slept til 10:00 and missed the showing of Hero, which was the only thing we had planned for that day. But I bought it in the dealer's room later that day anyway. We watched it on Lauren's comp at the hotel. It was another awesome movie. Very beautiful.

We ate at a cafe called the Peacock cafe and took pictures of the harbor. Twas fun. We actually went back to the dealer's room where I bought Kaylee some Psycho Le Cemu stickers, got another little something to add to Simon's stack of stuff, and bought a kick ass crab hat in the harbor. Went back to the hotel and screwed around for a while, then went to dinner at a Japanese place called "Shogun" where I tried Soba for the first time. I don't really have much to say about it either way.... It's not bad or anything. But I love tempura and that was awesome. I also ordered Oyaku-don, which was most yummy. Called mom that night so I could speak to her before her surgery the next morning and told me Ashley would be picking me up from the airport.

We went back to the hotel where Lauren's parent's crashed, and the rest of us stayed up and created a game called "Tofu Grappler", where basically three people wrestle to regain the stuffed Tofu we bought for Allie at Tofu Records. Poor Tofu. I was the Master of Ceremonies, btw, because I wasn't all that interested in wrestling anyone with acrylic nails and glasses. -_-

Next day was uneventful. Got sick on the second plane home. Finally got those damn Cinnabons. They were worth it though. Ashley was there to pick me up and I gave her and Michael their presents.

The End.

Summary: Best damn con ever. Thank you Lauren for giving me the opportunity.

*yawns* I'm tired! Perhaps I should sleep. I don't want to know how many pounds of laundry I've done in the last three days. *_*

Apparently Grandma is going to be wiring me some money. That's very kind of her. I don't know how she found out about my budget issues, but yeah. I should find some way to repay her.

And mum slipped me a hundred dollar bill today. o.O So I'm not as bad off as I thought. Though it's weird. It's not everday mum slips me 100 bucks.

*sigh* I don't want to ride a plane. Humans weren't made to fly.

Just as they weren't made to clone themselves.

And there you have it.

*melts* Hot... guy... just... here... wearing chucks... sexy... *dies*

He was very attractive. And as soon as I took his order and ran to the back of the kitchen and hid again. -_- But he was really quite hot and very nice. So unfair. Sheesh.

Word of the Day for Tuesday July 27, 2004

roborant \ROB-uh-ruhnt\, adjective:
Strengthening; restoring vigor.
adjective:
A strengthening medicine; a tonic; a restorative.

Well, I'm leaving work at four today instead of seven. I still have a shit load to do before Thursday. ;___;

I have something in my eye, if you wanted to know. It's quite a nuisance.

I need to clean out the car. It's awful looking. And according to other sources, awful smelling as well. But I don't smell anything. o.0

I've decided that I'd like to fall in love. So any time now, whenever the Fates or God feel I can handle it, I'm ready. *waits expectantly*

I hope I make at least one friend at the kon. I'm going to try and be... more extroverted.

But you say, "Holly, you ARE extroverted."

And I say, "Yes, but I'm also aggressive because I feel vulnerable. I need to be extroverted and confident, with a side of friendly."

And you say, "Holly, I thought you were going to say a side of gravy."

And I say, "Your face."

So there you have it. ¬3¬

*runs away*

I miss Allie and her icon making goodness ;____; *pines*

Well, Ashley gets her car back on Wednesday, and she said she could drop me off at the airport, assuming we can get there in one piece.

I just realized something when I was talking to Hilary though. I was supposed to borrow Michael's digital camera for the con, but we forgot to make the arrangements before he left. So now I am without camera. ;___; And that's probably the only thing I'd be bringing back from the convention, considering I'm cutting it EXTREMELY close as far as budget. I might be living on lint by the end of it. -_- But that's my fault really so I can't complain. Oh well.

Since I didn't go to mom's surgery today since it didn't happen, I laid around and read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire all day. Just finished it a minute ago. I'm somewhat amazed that I can still read that fast. I just got it yesterday evening. Well, I suppose it's not all that impressive. I went for hours straight without interruption, so I suppose anyone could do it. Now I just need to spread out the fifth book so I'll have something to read on the plane ride.

A strange thought just entered my head, and I feel compelled to share it.

I might turn my back on God and faith if mom died.

Don't know why I just thought that. Maybe it's because mom told me in bed today when she was crying that she loved me, and wanted me to know that in case she didn't make it through whatever this is.

I'm trying not to get too emotional about it, because it only adds to the situation, and I'm sure mom is going to be fine. But there you have it.

My dad called today as well. He spoke to mom then asked to speak specifically to Kaylee. Then as they wrapped up their conversation, I prepared myself for the usual robotic, forced conversation we force ourselves through on the phone, when Kaylee hung up.

"He didn't ask to speak to me?"

"Uh... no. Sorry."

So. There you have that as well. Not that I was looking forward to the usual spiel, but to be passed over like that irks me a bit. But oh well. He doesn't care about me. I don't need to hear his hollow voice over the phone to tell me that. But it upset mom. She cried about it and said it was her fault. I told her that his actions weren't a by product of anything she'd done, and she had no control over the way he treated me. I told her not to feel bad about it, cuz I've got Dave anyway. And I told her thats better than a dad.

Though today you wouldn't know I felt that way. He was being an outright ogre. So to get revenge I ate his oreos.

Wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow. -_- I just don't want to deal with it. Oh well.

What I do wish is that I was playing Super Mario Brothers with Simon. Or Eccho with my brother. But I suppose I'll settle for Tetris, then budge off to bed.

Michael (the big cook Michael, not my brother or my boss) will be stuck here by himself for dinner, so I need to stay through three to make sure that he's alright. But we've got a whopping four patients, so I don't know if he'll be able to handle it. -_-

*does dance* My mood is good today. Mom's not feeling well today, and Ashley said I can't come over to visit her, so by all means I should be in a foul one, but that scrambled egg sandwich just did something for me, so I'm happy. XD Perhaps it's that I'm looking forward to going to Otakon immensely.

Mom's surgery is still on schedule for tomorrow if she's feeling alright.

I've had it

A lot of good things have happened to me today, but I still feel shitty.

I'm back from my appointment. Eyebrows no longer eating me alive, nails done woot.

Mom said that she was taken care of for Thursday and Friday, so I have the go ahead for Otakon. *does dance* Yay.

And I would be happy too, if mom didn't hate my stinking guts right now. She doesn't hate me because I'm going. Quite the contrary, she's pissed that I wanted to make sure she was taken care of.

Then today she told me for the 15th time that she had gotten no sleep last night. Finally I had to roll my eyes. I'd heard it once, twice, a thousand times. I didn't need to hear it again. She got pissed, said I was disrespectful and didn't care at all about her condition, and told me that I had better make plans to go to Baltimore anyway, because she can't stand having me around.

Nice.

So I left for my appointment, and I'm still not feeling any better about things.

So, who was willing to cancel their trip to Baltimore? Who called in at work to rush her to the hospital? Who stayed up at the hospital for her kidney stone for hours at a time? Who has been worrying non stop making themselves sick about her?

Certainly not Kaylee. Definately not Dave.

Must've been the dog, Bruce, because the way she's acting you sure as hell wouldn't think it was me. You might get the impression that I'm the one that MADE her sick, or that I'm digging her grave in anticipation of her death. Or that I just don't give a damn.

Maybe she's just tired of being sick, or maybe she's not feeling well. Perhaps stress. I understand that. But don't fucking through it in the face of the person who cares the most.

Rent-A-Cat

JAPAN LITE

Rent-a-cats bring women love at first bite

By AMY CHAVEZ

It has long been said that for men, walking a dog is a good way to meet girls. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a cute dog too. Whenever I see a dog, especially a black Labrador retriever, I run over and pet it, hug it, kiss it and tell it how beautiful it is. So walking a dog is a good way to meet girls -- for the dog, anyway.
Now there is a service in Tokyo that lets you rent a dog for about 1,500 yen per hour and pretend to be a dog owner. For just over 10,000 yen, you can keep the dog overnight. Supposedly, the purpose of the service is for people to get an idea of the responsibilities involved in having a dog before they actually buy one.

This is a fine idea, but doesn't anyone else see something wrong with this? Of course you do: They've left out cats.

My attention-starved cat, Frank, has been begging me to start a rent-a-cat service. After all, most people have no idea what they are missing by not having a cat. Especially a cat like Frank. In addition, walking a cat would be a great way for women to meet men. Here's why.

In my Frank the World rent-a-beast service, I would rent out Frank along with a brush, a pair of sturdy gloves and some earplugs. Rules are you must brush your beast. Be sure to wear the gloves, because Frank has very sharp teeth and hates to be brushed. The earplugs are for when Frank screams bloody murder at the top of her lungs when you're brushing her. Don't worry, this will attract the attention of sympathetic men.

Frank the World service includes a set of shin guards and a roll of stretch bandages, but only because our insurance company requires it. Guards and bandages are required to protect you from random beastly bites to your shins and ankles.

Rental also includes a choice of hair dyes so you can give your beast stripes to make it look like either a baby Bengal tiger or royal white tiger. Give your feline a tough name such as Bobo, Montecore or just Killer. Men will flock to pet your baby tiger.

Brush often to get up the cat's ire and attract attention. Those gloves will really make it look authentic. In addition, we include a special belt for you to wear with a toy tranquilizer gun in it.

When that good-looking guy stops and reaches down to pet your tiger, Frank will respond by biting him. Don't worry -- that's why we send you off with a first aid kit, also attached to the belt. You have to understand that the beast is just hungry and prefers to eat flesh, as it would naturally out in the jungle. Begin bandaging up the wounds immediately and offer to take the man to the hospital. Have confidence -- by the time you pass our required courses in CPR, top tourniquet techniques and feline taste testing treatment, you'll have the confidence you need to get the man to the hospital as soon as possible.

Once out of the hospital, nurse the man him back to health at your home. At that point, you can either return Frank and consider it a job well done, or, for an extra 10,000 yen, you can keep her overnight and be awakened at 4 a.m. by yowling and running up and down the staircase at breakneck speeds.

If you do decide to return Frank, you can still pretend to be a cat owner by shopping in the Frank the World Boutique, which specializes in selling clothing with cat hair already on it.

If rent-a-cat hasn't worked for you, you might try my rent-a-cattle service. Each rental herd comes with lassos and two horses: one for you and one for a cowboy.

The Japan Times: July 24, 2004
(C) All rights reserved

I do love the Japan Times.
