[ The feed cuts on to a perhaps familiar face. N looks tired, but otherwise in good health. ]

Ah, Vatheon -- well, first, I just want to say I'm sorry about that newest curse. I...hope I didn't upset anyone too badly, and that everyone's okay now.

[ He hesitates, chewing on his lip in a moment of nervousness, before continuing. ]

But, uh, on a different topic! In the Lower District I've renovated a warehouse and some of the land around it in order to be something of a Pokemon Center. For those that don't know what it is, it's kind of like a veterinary center for Pokemon! But I've made it so that I can help take care of normal animals, too.

I mean, I'm not a doctor, but I can speak to them and I know a lot about them anyway. And I do have medicines and things that can help a lot! I also have a lot of space if they need it.

I'd like to reiterate my offer, as well: I am willing to take care of any animals or beings that may be left behind in Vatheon if you disappear unexpectedly. Just let me know your name and the specifics of who you would like me to care for if you happen to return home.

[ Someone has been isolated for a quite a while now. However, when one lives with more animals than one has fingers, unexpected things happen like the SFC getting knocked off the table.

For a good half a minute, the video is nothing but flashes of fur and a spinning view of the ceiling.

Apparently, starfish make good toys.

When the cat gets bored, the video finally stabilizes. For a few more moments there is nothing, and then the sound of soft humming can be heard. N appears, apparently quite enjoying the music filtering through his headphones, and slowly moves from one side of the screen to the other, painting a dingy wall a bright white. ]

For all of his friends: Red went home.

[ A few minutes later, there comes another text. ]

It seems that the man named Setsuna has as well, for those who knew him.

[ That is all that is said. For his own part, N forces himself up from Red's bed, where he had spent most of his morning in tears as he listened to the boy's voicemail message over and over again.

He scoops up Red's now trainerless Zorua and ends up tucking him in a carrying bag; the baby is still weaker than his brothers. He has to move, both for his own sanity and because he made a promise.

A half-hour after the texts are sent it is possible to spot N walking home, a Zorua kit sticking his nose out of the shoulder bag he has and a round robot in his arms, 'ears' occasionally fluttering in a strangely sad manner. ]

[ The feed flickers on to N, obviously located in the park. If one is observant, they might notice a multitude of changes about the boy. Perhaps the easiest to spot is the gleaming crown on his head that makes him stand regal and tall, posture relaxed even as one hand rests on the hilt of a sword. The next is how his typical wardrobe has suddenly shifted; he is dressed nicely, fashionably even, as if someone with much more style sense than himself picked out his clothing (hint, someone did).

The coo that echoes out of the speakers comes from the large bird perched on his shoulder, eying the SFC with an intelligent gaze.

There are two things the most keen of eyes might take note of: the first is the tint of sadness to N's expression.

The second is the fact that the crown does not completely hide two very feline ears that twitch as N begins to speak.

Someone has taken too much interest in the hats. ]

For those who did not already know, Locke has left Vatheon. I am caring for Rachel.

[ The Starly coos again, this time in response to her name. ]

...Genrou has now left as well.

[ Pain flashes across N's face, but the nature given to him by the crown keeps his eyes dry. ]

I do not know if they will be back. However, Locke left a note to me...it seems this place only allows that when people have gone home for good.

[ He has to take a deep breath. ]

I apologize to any of their friends. ...I will miss them too.

[ The feed cuts. N places the SFC in his pocket, shoulders slumping ever so slightly now that his duty is done. He shifts to let Rachel take to the air, though he follows her closely, made too wary by the knowledge of the Pokemon thefts that had plagued the week.

As he walks, his newly-acquired tail sways behind him, long fur flicking this way and that as he tries to ignore the very-unkingly instincts that encourage him to pounce upon the Starly himself. ]

He shifts Purrloin, who is perched on his shoulders, to a more comfortable position, and swallows. ]

Hello. I just had an...announcement I wanted to make.

My name is N. I am from the world of Pokemon. I can speak to and understand animals and Pokemon both as much as I can people.

I've noticed when people leave Vatheon, sometimes their animal companions go with them, but other times they get left behind. There is no true wilderness in Vatheon, and many 'pets' cannot take care of themselves even if there were.

That is why I wanted to make an offer. As long as I am here, I would be willing to house any animals or other manner of creature who end up left behind. Or any that have already been left. That way you can be assured they will be taken care of.

If you wish me to look out for your disappearance or incapacitation, feel free to contact me. I can be found at the Welcoming Committee throughout the day today, or you can just call.

He takes a breath and speaks calmly: ]

It seems several people were given Eevee eggs to care for. I am glad to see that the little ones are hatching and seem to be doing well.

[ That much, at least, is true. ]

I was wondering how much of an introduction to Pokemon nature and care you were given? While they have many similarities with the animals I have met here, they require some special attention.

[ What he is trying not to come out directly and say is that he has no idea who any of you all are, if you can be trusted, and that he has no faith in Lyra. ]

If anyone has questions, or trouble, I'm willing to teach you about Pokemon. I can also speak directly to your Eevee, and translate any concerns.

But I can't be sorry for fighting Silver. I'll leave him alone now. He's got his choices, and I said what I wanted to say.

But I couldn't just let him go like that. Let him take Feraligatr back and think he had won, that everything was going to be okay the way it was. Maybe it's not important to anyone else, what a trainer does to his Pokemon. Maybe to everyone else the rights of a human is more important. But not to me.

Green's right. I don't deserve you. I'm not like other people and I'm never going to be. This just proves it.

They are his pack, his pride: those people he loves and respects more than anyone. Their presence means everything to him, and because of them he has changed more than he recognizes.

Red is everything that N never expected to find, and someone he is not sure he will ever manage to deserve. He is one of the few people who truly makes N feel special. From the first time he met him, N was struck by his kindness, and through the months in Vatheon Red has never proven himself anything other than a heroic heart. He was one of the very first people N learned how to trust, and the first he admitted his past to.

In time, Red surpassed the trust of a friend and became the first person N handed his heart to. Red's smiles and every affection leave N feeling fuzzy and warm, like nothing in the world could bring him down. He had never experienced romantic love before this, but now he knows how it feels.

It is hard to qualify just how important a figure Hilda is to N. His respect for her borders on something legendary. She is the reason his entire view on life changed, the reason he is an entirely different person than he was even a day before he came to Vatheon. Because of this, he sometimes has trouble seeing her as a girl his own age. To him, she is so much more, and it sometimes gives him trouble communicating with her. However, in the end, he will always think she is amazing, and encourage her to follow any dream she has.

These are those N considers close friends. He wants to make them happy, and would happily spend time with any of them given half a chance. He would trust them with most anything, and their presence always makes him smile.

[ N has never been properly introduced to the idea of birthdays, and most of the holidays he has heard of just confuse him. However, the idea of giving gifts to his friends pleases him plenty well, and now seems as good a time as any, to him: his pockets jingle with tokens from both the tournament and his (incredibly late) pay from being part of the Welcoming Committee.

Which is why a few of N's close friends might find a gift on their doorstep, neatly wrapped (though the paper choices may be questionable; it is hard to recognize themed paper when one does not know the holidays in question). ]

[ On Red's bed sits his present. There is a small, rectangular carrying case under the paper, black leather with metal clasps to keep it closed and a thin handle. It might be confusing at first when one opens it, for it seems to be a chess set -- except there is no opposing set to play against.

The chess pieces themselves will explain what is up: they are Wizarding Chess pieces! Of course there is not an opposing set. Every player brings their own set to the table. How else would you build a relationship with your pieces? ]

It had been two days since N had been home, and no one seemed quite sure where he was. His name was still on the SFC, and he had been spotted once or twice, but he missed any appointments he had made and did not contact any of his friends or housemates.

If one paid close attention, however, in the early morning hours, they might catch sight of Purrloin darting down the street, a stolen bagel in her mouth. She heads out of the plaza and far beyond the city limits, slipping into the forest.

In one of the forest clearings, there sits the missing boy, surrounded by his team and seemingly content. He reaches out and takes the bagel from Purrloin's mouth, giving her a fond stroke before he takes a bite.

[ Ever since he had heard of the carnival in town, N had wanted to go. He remembered the one in Nimbasa with fondness, the foul memories of Team Plasma aside. But he had not wanted to go alone.

Now, however, Hilda was here and was willing to come with him. The thought excited him even more just because it was Hilda -- perhaps this could be better than Nimbasa. If only in a small way, maybe he could make up for everything he had done.

He waited by the gate, eyes turned upwards towards the Ferris Wheel that was slowly turning, its blinking lights already on. ]

005 ♔ [Accidental Video]

I mean, people can change their name, I think. Like you can get your nickname changed.

[ The reason for the SFC transmitting this video is immediately clear. A big, green feline eye peers out of the screen. Purrloin is once again messing with her favorite toy. The voice is N, who is apparently having a conversation with another of his Pokemon. ]

N isn't a real name. At least, not really. It is my name, but that is not the point. I don't have a last name any more, either. That just makes it worse.

[ Purrloin moves, apparently bored with the situation now, to reveal N standing at a whiteboard he has brought home from one of the shops. He's got a heavy book in his hands, and is writing down a problem for it on the board. ]

[ As soon as he is done he starts to solve it, working easily as he continues to talk. He has had a tumultuous few weeks, and now has retreated from the chaos that is human social life. This is relaxation for him, numbers and identities, puzzles where everything has a correct place and there is no subjectivity. Here, he is in his element. ]

I don't know what I'd change it to, though. I've never really thought about it. Maybe something that still starts with a N?

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? N is fairly tall, about 5'10". He might add a couple inches in his last few years as a teenager. He's very thin, though he's added a bit of weight since his diet is no longer controlled.

2. How old is he? Sixteen and a handful of months. He left Plasma Castle near his birthday.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
It depends on his mood. He tends to hold himself straight when he's happy or content, but slouches when he's upset. His emotions are always very visible in how he holds himself. If he is sad, it is not just on his face; his entire body is limp and wilted. If he's happy, he's grinning as well as motioning wildly with his whole body.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
N is fairly fit due to the fact that even when in his room, he had a skateboard and basketball hoop to play on, and did so a lot to stave off boredom. His food was also restricted, so he maintained a healthy, if bland diet. After leaving the castle, all the walking he did contributed to his physical fitness.

However, he grew up in a very germ free environment, so he has little resistance to germs and can easily become infected with something like the flu or common cold.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
N is strangely graceful. He moves without hesitation and with utter surety. This ties into 3.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
N is pretty good looking. He is somewhat feminine. He however, is completely unaware of his attractiveness to others, or himself. He does not look in the mirror often at all, and has little physical self-awareness.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
N is very pale. It is because he gets no sun.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
His hair is very long and seems to have a mind of its own. It is quite thick, but soft. It has a tendency to be very fluffy and stick out everywhere. N keeps it brushed, but doesn't bother to style it at all.

The green color is quite natural. Even his eyelashes have a hint of green to them.

9. What color are his eyes?
A tea green, a darker shade than his hair.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Not that I can think of.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Not sure what this question means. :\

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
N goes for neutrals most of the time, avoiding bright colors. His clothes are very mix-and-match -- different colors, but mostly the exact same style of outfit every time: button-up overshirt, undershirt, plain pants. The amount of clothing choices can overwhelm him, so he sticks to what is familiar.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
They're a little loose to be comfy. He seems perfectly content with lounging around in them.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
When he was playing "King" in front of Team Plasma he was dressed up very nicely, in archaic fashions. He was not nearly as comfortable in those clothes as his casual clothes, but he puts on a brave face in them.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Briefs.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
He's got an alto voice that never really lowered any farther. It's slightly musical; he'd have a good singing voice, if he ever thought to sing.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
When N really believes in what he is saying, he speaks evenly and easily. He seems to be able to give speeches at the drop of the hat. There is a light, airiness when he speaks this way, however, that makes it very obvious he is caught up in his own thoughts and emotions and is not really taking good note what is presently happening around him.

Once he grows uncomfortable, however, his eloquence fades, and a lot of halts and rewording comes into his speech patterns.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
N speaks with an intelligent vocabulary, and uses contractions fairly sparingly. His pronunciation of words is so novian standard it could be considered odd by those from the region. This is mainly due to his schooling being done via computer and learning a lot of his language from the computer's artificial voice.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
He speaks whatever they speak in Unova, and the language of the Pokemon! Okay no, he can just understand Pokemon.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
No.

It depends on his comfort level. If he is talking ideals or about Pokemon, he can go on for hours. If it is anything else, he grows more hesitant and unsure.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
N is actually fairly book-smart, though only about specific things:
He knows a lot about space, and he is good at math and physics.
He is also very good at puzzles.
He knows a fair amount about chemistry and Pokemon anatomy/biology.
He is also a surprisingly good tactician, when he knows his enemy and the nature of the battle, which is why he did so well in the Pokemon league. This also would show itself in a natural proficiency for games such as chess, though he has not had the opportunity to play them yet.

However, he has huge gaping holes of knowledge in things like anything to do with the study of humanity from biology to history to psychology, literature, poetry, music. These things fascinate and at the same time utterly confuse him.

Most roadkill has more street-smarts than N does. He has little idea how the real world works, much less more complicated things such as relationships. He is feeling them out as he goes and making tons of mistakes on the way, because he has never had anyone teach him what is right or wrong, culturally or otherwise.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Depends on the situation. If he one such as a Pokemon battle, he thinks very quickly.

So much of the world is confusing for him, however, that he can easily be tripped up, desperately needing to find the answers to his questions before he can continue.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
N is very intuitive most of the time. He trusts his instincts and follows them, even when they lead him horribly astray. He does not have enough basic experience to be practical.

He is extremely idealistic, and does not understand why his ideals can physically not become reality. He struggles with this almost daily, pushing for his ideals against a world that cannot be molded to suit them.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Everything N ever learned as a child was very carefully censored. While he was allowed to pursue pure science and math as mentioned above to his heart's content, he was given a lot of misinformation about the world outside, much if it meant to frighten or horrify him.

Though he has learned a lot of his information is false at this point, and there is so much he simply had heard no mention of at all, he sometimes still struggles with the information he was given as a child and learned as fact instead of propaganda.

His education was all very hands off, mostly given through a computer program. He had very little contact with any human teacher once he was old toilet-trained. His guardian was normally an intelligent Pokemon.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Pokemon and math are his two areas of expertise. He knows Pokemon inside and out, from their biology to their psychology to battling with them.

Math is one big puzzle game to him. He does it just because he likes to do it; he very rarely uses it for anything practical.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Somewhere in between. He has no problem talking to new people and making new friends, and is very honest in his feelings, save when they have to do with his feelings about himself, and about his past. Then he clams up, not wanting to trust anyone with it.

He also tends to hide any of his depression, not outwardly lying about it but not being forthcoming with information, either.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
N can swing moods like a pendulum. He is often at the extremes of an emotion, either extremely happy or extremely sad. They are not random swings, however; he just over-reacts to everything like a child, easily made happy but easily made upset.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He is often very blunt and curious with new people. He does not follow very many cultural niceties, except for the ones he has begun to mimic from other people, such as saying "nice to meet you."

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
He is more likely to react, and overreact at that.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
It highly depends on the situation. N will often throw himself into a fight, but if he is targeted specifically (i.e. it's not a Pokemon battle), he becomes frightened and chooses flight much more easily.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Many jokes and puns go straight over N's head. Knock-knock jokes have to be explained to him. Most jokes and humor are culture-reliant, and N is just now trying to understand cultural context; he is not nearly experienced enough with it to find most jokes funny.

Physical humor is much more likely to get a laugh out of him.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
He does not. All of his abnormal psychology is due to his environment.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Warning, a list and lots of headcanon ahead.

-> When he was six or seven, he became more and more eager to visit the world outside of his room (and occasionally the small, walled-in courtyard he was allowed to explore). His Woobat was an instigator in this, encouraging him with tales of what it was like. Ghetsis responded by taking Woobat when N was asleep and putting the Pokemon down, telling N Woobat had run away.
A few days later he returned the corpse to N's room, giving it to the child and explaining it had been killed by trainers out in the real world N was so eager to see. This was a vital moment in cementing in N's mind that the humans outside of his castle were cruel and violent.

-> His crowning ceremony. To N this was his coming of age, and he felt extremely wise and sure of himself, unable to comprehend just how far he had been manipulated by Ghetsis.

-> The entire events of Pokemon Black/White were vital in changing his view on the world and the people in it, and all but destroyed everything N knew or thought about himself, leaving him a blank slate to rebuild upon.

14. What does he fear?
Despite finding out that most trainers were not cruel beings, N is still most frightened of his Pokemon being hurt or, worse, killed.

He is also afraid of people finding out his involvement with Team Plasma and thinking he is a terrible person. He feels deeply guilty for it, and doesn't see how others can't blame him for it. But he is very lonely, and the thought of losing the friendships he has started to make it horrifying to him.

The fact that the people around him might be lying is also something that scares N. Ghetsis' lies were so involved and hurt so much that he worries the same thing will happen again, and that no one is being sincere, even though he does not have the personality type to allow him to withdraw into apathy.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
N's hopes are very up in the air right now. He is very unsure of his future, and is attempting to rebuild dreams and goals.

He does hope to learn a lot more about the world around him, and to fit more easily into society. He also wants to somehow make up for his actions while he was a part of Team Plasma.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
He doesn't want them to find out about Team Plasma, even though he wants to make up for it. He feels guilty and entirely stupid for his ignorance.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
N only has Ghetsis, and their relationship is nothing like Father-Son.

To N, Ghetsis was a wise mentor. Someone always to be listened to, for he was always right. He trusted Ghetsis immensely. However there was no love lost between them, familial and otherwise. They had little contact aside from that which was strictly "business." More often Ghetsis would leave N messages than come see him in person, and the contact was always impersonal.

There was no expectation of friendliness on either side.

However, N feared upsetting and letting Ghetsis down. Buried deep is actual fear of Ghetsis, even before his treachery was revealed. N had been on the receiving end of Ghetsis' anger before, and sought to avoid it at all costs. He never blamed Ghetsis for the punishments, however, manipulated instead into harboring guilt for angering the man in the first place.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
N/A

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
N/A

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
N considers his Pokemon to be his family, in the closest sense he has to understanding what family is. They above all others deserve his love and dedication, and he would do anything for them.

This is part of the reason he has such a hard time dealing with trainers that see Pokemon as pets or lesser beings, instead of close equals. N can never imagine himself to be more or better than his Pokemon. If anything, he thinks himself lesser than they are.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Purrloin! Purrloin has been with N since she was very young, and is the oldest of the Pokemon with him. She was brought from an abusive trainer to N, feral and mistrusting of the boy. It took many hours of coaxing and more than a few wounds before Purrloin would deign to be in his presence, much less allow him to touch her.

N fought extremely hard for her friendship, and has never forgotten it. Now she is his almost constant companion and confidant. He tells her all the little things he is afraid to even whisper to another human being. Even if she cannot understand his human concerns all the time, she comforts him when he is in need of it.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Aside from his Pokemon, N has no close friends. He is only now beginning to develop real, lasting friendships.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He actually is quite adept at making friends due to his nature, now that he has put aside his ideals as the king of Team Plasma. However, he is very much effected by first impressions. If the first impression is good, he often naively thinks the person will be a great friend, aside from his moments of paranoid fear when he wonders if everyone is lying to him. If the first impression is bad, he considers the person to be all by evil and has a hard time accepting that they might be fine people in reality.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
His Pokemon are still his most important connection, though now he is desperate to keep the budding friendships he has. They do not often come into conflict.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Very single.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
It is hard to define a crush for N. There is not yet a split between those he considers friends and those he actually would have a romantic attraction to. In a platonic way, Hilda is his first crush. She is the first person he got extremely interested and fascinated in, and later on the first he desperately wanted to like him.

Currently he also is feeling similar about Red.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
N has never considered looking for one.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
He has no children. The idea would frighten him at this point, as he has no idea what to do with adults, much less little kids.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Hilda was his rival at first, more because he forced her to be than anything. He thought this an extremely important to everyone involved, until she beat him.

His enemies list is more a people he misunderstands list: Stein, Kanda, and America. It is likely he will calm down around all of them, given time to understand and adjust.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
N is likely a 3. He does not differentiate between the sexes on a sexual level. Part of this is that he is less likely to care about sexual attractiveness (though he does note if people look good to him or not) than the person in pursuit of relationships.

The other is that he is simply not wired to care which way or the other.

He also does not have any inherent judgments on homosexuality vs. heterosexuality. He understands sex on a physical level and the requirements of having a female and a male to create a children, but he grew up surrounded by Pokemon; some species mated for life, others only for a season, and still others simply mated any old time they wanted to. Not all of them created female-male couples.

So he really is very accepting of all sorts of sexual couplings, and thus accepting of his own bisexuality, feeling no pressure to be one or the other.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
N has not yet formed an opinion on sex with others. It is likely he would enjoy it, but it is questionable how much he would attach romantic feelings to it, or if he would find it necessary to be monogamous.

He has masturbated (he is a teenager, here), but he has not developed fantasies, simply because he has had nothing to fantasize about. So masturbation is a very self-contained thing, physical pleasure without a lot of imagination involved.

He sleeps with his Pokemon piled around him. You might want to kick them out of the bedroom before you try anything.

Beliefs

N's compassionate tendencies were mostly geared towards Pokemon, but are slowly shifting to encompass humanity as well. He fits the dreamy, intuitive type, as well as being tender and impressionable. However, he will hurt people if he thinks it's for a good cause, or if it is in protection of those he loves. His tender-heartedness may make him empathetic, but it will not always make him stop.

He is not very artistic, however, perhaps merely because he had no chance to be.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
N is spiritual. He does not worship, but he does believe in things like destiny and spirits, and can even become superstitious at times.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
1. Pokemon are still more important to people to him. Harming animals makes you nothing short of evil.
- This came about due to how he was raised, with Pokemon being his only friends and most of them being abused or maltreated by human beings.

2. N does not lie. Honesty is very important to him, and he is horrified by liars.
- Ghetsis is a huge part of his aversion to lying. He still has a hard time believing the huge web of lies Ghetsis spun around him, and he is terrified of it happening again.

It may come to a point where it is necessary to lie, and that will be a huge struggle for N. It would have to be due to trying not to hurt someone -- or trying to save them.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
N has a hard time accepting different world views, especially about what he considers important or against his moral code. He's getting better, however; after his journey and last fight with Hilda, he began to accept that different views weren't exactly wrong.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He still holds a prejudice against people who hurt animals, or who merely don't like them. He's also oversensitive to this; if you slight your Pokemon or pets even a little bit, he will get upset with you.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
N has never truly considered money. He never had a chance to spend anything as a child, and once he was out into the world he was given the financial backing of Team Plasma, which got him whatever he wanted or needed for his journey. Then in Vatheon, there is no need for money at all. Money is of no concern or importance to him.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
N grew up taking orders, then was thrust into the role of "King." He was the fulcrum of what amounted to a cult. He went from a lonely child to getting a ton of attention and having a lot of people do whatever he wished. It was overwhelming for him, but he was soon punted out into his journey. He got arrogant, however, after getting the title of King, even though it was a shield for his insecurity.

That shield shattered after his fight with Hilda and Ghetsis' reveal. Now he is just learning how to be a normal person, which is difficult enough for him.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in the attic of the PokeCast house. It's nice and spacious so his Pokemon can spread out, but he actually has a tendency to avoid it. He keeps it in muted colors, avoiding anything bright, and he never closes his door or the windows.

Being in his room makes him claustrophobic, so he's normally only there to sleep.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Food and trinkets. N is easily fascinated by the small and shiny and will buy souvenirs happily. Being able to choose his own meals has also been something amazing to him, so he tries to try a bit of everything.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He hangs around and looks cute until someone takes care of him, at this point.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Right now he spends it trying to talk to more people. That or he spends it with his Pokemon, which is fairly normal. He also is interested in exploring, so he spends a lot of time running around and doing that, especially anywhere there might be new animals to see.

Once he settles, he'll likely fall back into his old hobbies of puzzles and skateboarding.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He tries a bit of everything, as long as it's vegan. He's very concerned with not eating Pokemon (or animal) products.

His metabolism is fast, but he's gained a bit of weight even then because he's so excited about all the different kinds of food available to him here. He'll eat pretty much anything put in front of him, as long as it follows his self-imposed dietary restrictions. If he finds he doesn't like it, to the Pokemon it goes.

[ There is the sound of fumbling coming across the SFC. N's fingers apparently brushed across it as he was groping for his Pokeballs. Why he is not so graceful is rather obvious when the video picks up the fact that he is sniffling, both due to tears and the fact his nose seems to have been bleeding.

He ignores the SFC, letting Purrloin out of her Pokeball. She was apparently sleeping, because she begins to yawn and stretch, but is quickly distracted by her trainer's distress, butting up against his chin. ]

Permissions and Character Notes

I realized I should do a permissions thing too, now that I've decided on the nature of N's Pokemon communication is.

N can understand and speak to any Pokemon or animal through a form of telepathy. If you don't mind him chatting up your animals and probably asking creepy stalker things like where you're from, if you still live in your mom's basement, what color underwear you have on today, please let me know.

Normally the way this works is that you voice for your character's pet, in italics or action tags, and N responds back.

N is unable to talk to humans, demons, etcetera through his telepathy unless they are significantly animalistic. Even then, it's entirely up to you whether or not N can communicate with them.

At this point in time, N does not recognize his ability as telepathy and has a hard time discerning between what is said out loud and what is said mentally. He always speaks out loud to his Pokemon and other animals, but it is possible he could learn to do so non-verbally.

His current range is probably not much farther than that of normal earshot.

	Alfred F. Jones/America 1776ftw	STRANGER DANGER! BAD TOUCHING!
	Bianca belleblanche	TBA.
	Mrs. Brisby courageofheart	N thinks Brisby is the coolest thing since sliced bread. He finds her absolutely amazing, from her little red cape to her ability to read. On top of that, she is polite and sweet. He has never met an animal that could do that, or talk like her, and it adds to what would already be him liking her. Basically, if Mrs. Brisby had a fanclub, N would be in it.
	Canada vimyridge	N met Canada after Canada made an announcement about treating the dinosaurs kindly, which meant N almost instantly liked him. That was re-enforced after Canada came to help him after dealing with Stein, and promised to go talk to him about it.
	Cheren typeadvantage	Cheren is a bit of a problem for N. He does not care enough about him to personally care if Cheren likes him or not. However, he understands that other people, who N desperately want to please, respect Cheren's opinion. So he finds himself very nervous about what Cheren thinks of him, because he has the power to mess up relationships N really cares about. He cannot read him well, which only adds to it. As for Cheren personally, he frowns at the other boy's willingness to try and capture strange beasts for 'study,' and remembers his quest for power. Both of those things displease N. But then Cheren does nice things like help decorate his room, which confuses N and keeps him from outright despising him. tl;dr: Cheren confuses the heck out of N and he can't figure out if he likes him or not.
	Effy Stonem effier	Effy likes Reshiram, so she gets a million brownie points right off the bat. That aside, initially Effy's mannerisms threw N off. He has a hard time with sarcasm and understanding her moods. However, after a while of talking to her, he is beginning to adjust and if not understand, deal with it better. He's come around to actually like her. He hopes they can be friends in the future, and he's very excited about getting to meet her kitten. She's not in his top standing yet, but he enjoys seeing her around.
-----	Dr. Franken Stein patchworkdoctor	N absolutely despises Stein due to Stein's treatment of the dinosaurs that appeared. He is also afraid of him. Stein was the first person to ever physically beat N up, and that makes him very frightening. N does not know what to do about him, except that he wants to avoid him as much as possible.
	Feferi Peixes witch_of_life	N is fascinated by Feferi, and likes her bubbly personality. She's nice enough he trusts her to teach him how to swim.
	Hilda whitesout	N respects Hilda perhaps more than any other person alive, because she is Zekrom's trainer and beat him and Reshiram. He views her as Unova's true hero, and sees her as sort of an ideal. This means he makes Hilda to be out a lot more than what she truly is, and has a hard time seeing her as a normal person. Due to this, he is extremely concerned as to what she thinks of him. He wants to make her happy, but also fears her becoming displeased with him. In absence of Team Plasma's constant reaffirmation of him, he replaces a lot of it with her opinion.
	Hilbert andyellow	N has come to believe Hilbert when he says he is from a world where he is in Hilda's place. However, he can much more easily see Hilbert's humanity than he can Hilda's, which leaves him confused. In some ways he wants to treat Hilbert with the same utter devotion and respect, for he can see how good Hilbert is with his Pokemon, and how nice he is to N. On the other, he just finds himself wanting to be a normal friend. Hilbert often leaves N feeling flustered and unsure, but he likes having him around.
	Kanda Yuu toomanypetals	Kanda chewed N out at a very bad time, and they got into an argument. After what Kanda said, N is certain that Kanda would make a horrible friend who abandons people, won't stand up for what's right if he can't win, and over all is a jerky jerk jerk jerk.
	Red pristinestar	N has attached super firmly to Red. Red was one of the first people to talk to him, to take him in, and just to show him plain, unconditional kindness. He protected him from America and introduced him to Pokemon he had never seen before. The fact that Red's Pokemon love him so deeply, and that Red loves Pokemon in return, got N to trust him where he might have not otherwise. After he got beaten up, all of this just got re-enforced. It changed Red from that "guy I like" to someone he really wants to make proud of him. Red is currently close to being on par with Hilda, (except he feels less awkward around Red) making him one of the two people that N seriously works at making like him. Basically, N adores Red and really wants Red to adore him back.
	Veralidaine Sarrasri badgerlet	N doesn't know Daine well yet, but he's fascinated by her. He has never met anyone else who can speak to animals like he can, and the fact that Daine can makes him want to know more about her. Sort of the desperation for someone who understands, since most people think he's a little nutty when he does it. She also instantly gets liked because his Pokemon like/trust her, which (aside from Reshiram) isn't normally such a quick thing. So in short, he's very curious about her and wants to know more, and she's got more brownie points upon meeting him than most people get in months.
	Xion replicatedaster	Xion is probably N's first normal beginning at a friendship. As he still doesn't know how this all quite works, he's kind of awkward around her. He's not super close to her yet, but he likes her and finds her to be extremely nice. He would totally hang out with her again at any point.

N is a boy who grew up in a very narrow world. As a child he was isolated from humans and only allowed the company of Pokemon who had been abused and mistreated by their trainers. Thus he grew up to think that all trainers were using their Pokemon as tools, and that beyond the few human beings he was occasionally allowed to see, that the human race was by nature abusive and cruel.

It was not until he was sixteen that he was really let out into the world, and by that time his convictions were set in stone. He had been groomed to become the King of Team Plasma, continually fed the rhetoric that his experiences proved: trainers were dangerous, and needed to be separated from Pokemon. He went off on a Pokemon journey to become the Champion, thinking that by doing so he could order all trainers to release his Pokemon. He was encouraged in this by the Seven Sages of Team Plasma, especially their leader, Ghetsis.

His self-confidence, however, took another blow when Ghetsis, who was revealed to be his father, appeared and berated him for his failure, tearing him down. Ghetsis too lost to the trainer and was taken away, leaving behind the confused boy who had no idea where to go from here.

He made a decision, the only one he could think of: to leave Unova with Reshiram and find a new way of life. He was no longer a king, nor did he consider himself a hero. He knew he was leaving behind a better Champion than himself.

Now he is trying to make his way in the world with only himself and his Pokemon. He tries to be optimistic, but in reality he is struggling. He does not have much experience interacting with people, and often misses social cues. Things like jokes and flirting take him a while to get, if he gets them at all. Related to this is the fact that he unknowingly gives off the wrong cues on a regular basis. This includes things like standing too close to a person when he is talking to them, saying what he thinks even if it is not strictly polite, etcetera.

He also struggles with a two-fold guilt: one being that he has hurt so many people in pursuit of his ideal, which turned out to be a sham, and the other for failing at succeeding in the first place. This contributes to his confidence problems, which especially comes out around other people.

Despite all that, he is a very curious person, which is what drives him to continue trying to talk to other people, even if he fails or makings things awkward. He is also very compassionate, especially when it comes to Pokemon or animals. While before he was willing to override his compassionate nature in search of an ideal, now it is one of the few things that guides him. He can get to feeling very lost now that he does not have someone constantly telling him what he should do and believe.

Somewhere Ghetsis was not, nor any of Team Plasma. Nor any of their victims.

What he was going to do wherever he ended up, he did not know. Did it really matter? He had Reshiram, and the Poke balls he carried with him carried more of his friends. As long as he had them, he would be all right. He had barely seen Ghetsis, or even Anthea and Concordia, for long periods of time while growing up. Why would he need them now?

It is not long until he is laying along Reshiram's back, arms wrapped as far around him as he can get, hugging him tightly even as they flew through the air. Part of him wanted to tell Reshiram to go back, to find the Champion he had left behind, to find Zekrom, beg them to let him stay with them. To give him some direction, friendship, advice, a hug. Anything.

No. He had to keep going. He was a hero still, wasn't he? Maybe not. Maybe he was a sham of one, just like his ideals had been. But he would try. He would deal with this. For his friends. For himself.

He sat back up, looking forward into the distance. A new journey awaited.

WHAT THEY LOST: N will lose his ability to understand the speech of Pokemon. As someone who was isolated from human contact, the company of Pokemon is extremely important to him. He is more comfortable with Pokemon than other humans; they are his friends and confidants. To lose his ability to speak with them will cut N off from his closest friends.
He will still be very in tune with Pokemon, but he will not be able to carry on a conversation. Essentially, he will be regulated to a Pokemon whisperer instead of someone who can ask them what their favorite color is.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER:
N is a boy who grew up in a very narrow world. As a child he was isolated from humans and only allowed the company of Pokemon who had been abused and mistreated by their trainers. Thus he grew up to think that all trainers were using their Pokemon as tools, and that beyond the few human beings he was occasionally allowed to see, that the human race was by nature abusive and cruel.

It was not until he was sixteen that he was really let out into the world, and by that time his convictions were set in stone. He had been groomed to become the King of Team Plasma, continually fed the rhetoric that his experiences proved: trainers were dangerous, and needed to be separated from Pokemon. He went off on a Pokemon journey to become the Champion, thinking that by doing so he could order all trainers to release his Pokemon. He was encouraged in this by the Seven Sages of Team Plasma, especially their leader, Ghetsis.
