Preply is an online platform and app where people can learn languages with private tutors. It provides live one-on-one classes through video chat. Students use the website to find teachers based on their goals and learning style. Preply uses artificial intelligence to recommend tutors and to give learning tools and materials.[1] [2]

Preply started in 2012 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and was created by Kirill Bigai, Dmytro Voloshyn, and Serge Lukyanov. At first, Preply was a small website with a few teachers. Over time, it became a large global marketplace.[3] Today, the platform has more than 100,000 tutors who teach more than 90 languages.
