Exploding whale

There are numerous cases of whales "exploding". This most commonly happens naturally due to gas building up inside of a dead whale. There are rare instances where people decide to destroy the whale carcass with explosives. ^[1]

Example of exploding whale

In Oregon, on November 12, 1979, people disassembled a sperm whale carcass using explosives. A member of the Oregon Highway Division decided it was a smart way to dispose of its rotting carcass.^[2]
