Baccville Week 5 : Wacea Household

Last update of the 5th neighbourhood rotation !

Before we get to the new household, I should mention that we have a couple of new Unlocked Community Lots in the neighbourhood. One is basically a strip of sidewalk, a little square between lots in the Bellevue Business District, which I don't even have pictures of, the other one is (pictured above) this Research Base, inspired by a Castaway Stories lot.

With the idea of having (owned or not) community lots that are people's work places, this could be where scientists or sims in the army have to go sometimes. Down the street is all neighbourhood deco which could be turned into real lots if necessary.

Across the street is the military base (as seen from the Research Base's balcony), this building really is part of the military infrastructure of the neighbourhood.

And here are our last settlers for this week, which won't need to visit the Research Base as they're just your regular random young couple, premade Joseph and Kelly Wacea from Belladonna Cove.

And here's their little house, 318 Bay View Drive, also from Belladonna. It's a good starter and there's a strip of land between them and the Museum behind, it can later be added to their terrain when they need more room.

As any good Family sim, Kelly wants a baby, and to start learning about cooking and cleaning. She also wants to work at the Baccville Police Station (that is about to be built^^), while Joseph wants to become a Professional Slacker and his OTH is Gaming. He finds an opening as golf caddy on Wednesday.

Belladonna!Kelly has the Pregnancy modifier Token. I tried to give it to this Kelly too, via SimPE, I don't know whether I did it right, I just copied the token to Baccville!Kelly. The HoodChecker doesn't object, at any rate.

Thursday, Kelly has found a job in Law Enforcement, and she will even be able to go to work after she has her baby!

It's a giiiiiirl, Gwendolyn Wacea. I've been lucky with these premade ancestors that have moved to the BaCC neighbourhood, so far they have all of them had the same children they had in their original hoods. What were the odds!

Since Joseph and Kelly are first generation premades, they have straight DNA, but I gave them recessive genes for more diversity. Kelly has red hair and green eyes as recessive, Joseph blond hair and light blue eyes, and their daughter ended up picking all the recessive eye colours (expressed: light blue, recessive: green), yay! Gwendolyn also has her mother's brown hair, with her father's recessive blond gene (that I gave him).

Cake time ! Dad is there too, hidden behind the fridge.

She's all Kelly. Happy birthday, Gwendolyn, can we change you into normal clothes, now, please?

Oh, and that's it for this household, meaning the 5th week of the neighbourhood is officially over! With 60 playables (4 dead), the population is now 1020 (SM 17). The Uni Fund is 289.669§, we're getting there! I'll do a sticky post with all the stats and what's built and unlocked. I should also tidy a bit the old entries on the different journals and there's the issue with photobucket messing with all the old pictures, I should probably reupload them at some point, I do re-read my old entries every once in a while^^ If nothing else to remember whatever happened previously, since I play so many neighbourhoods.

Baccville Week 5 : Goth & Crumplebottom households

Baccville was just a few households away from reaching pop.1000, it would have been a shame not to do it before starting the next rotation of the neighbourhood. It will unlock the still forbidden careers of Medical, Politics, and Journalism. That's just three new couples, and here are the first two: the premade Pleasantview ancestors of the Goth and Crumplebottom families.

As Base Game sims, they didn't have pre-established Lifetime Wants, I picked them myself for once: Gretle wants to celebrate her Golden Anniversary one day, and Victor wants to earn 100.000§. Right now, Gretle wants to learn to cook, to clean, and have a baby. What a perfect wife!

The Crumplebottoms immediately come to visit their first neighbours the Goths. Simon and Prudence are both knowledge sims, and want to master all seven skills.

Now, now, dear Crumplebottoms, what would Miss Crumplebottom say to such a shameless PDA?

Hum, Victor, the other one is your wife. Also you have negative chemistry with that one. Must you be such a Goth already?

Gretle ! That is not your husband !

The Crumplebottoms were not behaving much better, telling dirty joke after dirty joke to each other.

And hating it. Please don't autonomously divorce before I even play your first day?

-Well thank you for the tour, Victor, Prudence and I will be going home now, before we ruin our marriage.

-Trully, it would be a shame to scare love away with dirty jokes.

Having trouble sleeping, Gretle ?

Would a bowl of night cereal help? Oh but look at that missing woman, Bella Goth, hum, sounds familiar?

Gretle: -*Plops!*

Victor: -*+1.250*

Claude, Baccville's postman, greets the newly arrived family.

He assures Gretle that it is a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood where they can happily raise their future children.

He also warns her that there are bills on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 5% of their lot value has to be paid every Sunday evening to the College Fund. Hopefully Gretle's children can go to College someday.

Speaking of children...

Little Gunther Goth joins the family Thursday afternoon.

He has brown eyes, black hair and is S1 like his parents. I had not decided what to do about the bound-to-happen differences with the premade family tree, exit and replay in case of multiple births or wrong gender? But for now, I don't have to decide since the game gave the Goths a son like the real Goths had.

What is it, Gretle? Sick of the Comfort Soup already ?

On Friday night, it's cake time already.

He inherited his mother's prognathism.

More little Goths on the way.

Meanwhile, next door, the Crumplebottoms are gossiping about Gretle's new pregnancy. At least their child will have little neighbours to play with, someday soon.

Just like Gunther Goth, Cornelia Crumplebottom is born on Thursday afternoon.

Black hair, brown eyes, light skin.

Well, Simon, you're a knowledge sim, don't you like knowing how to change a diaper?

Yes, Prudence, you need to have a second daughter, according to your family tree.

That mysterious woman again.

Really, you two. Are you ever getting used to it? Hire help if you don't want to do it.

Cake time for baby Cornelia.

She looks okay but I forgot to screencap her stats, it seems, and she doesn't get her little ID card.

Back at Goth Manor to finish their week. Gretle is having her second child and forgot about her boiling Comfort Soup. Well if she burns down the house (Victor is at work), at least she'll have died a better cook (+1 point).

And it's a giiiiirl, Frida Goth !

Also I see a face in the soup smoke, like a feline face maybe.

Great, now could you please do something about the burning soup?

Sorry about the cold tiles, Frida. I know your generation is supposed to die from fire, but it's just entirely too soon for that.
And that's it for the Goths and Crumplebottoms. The neighbourhood is still two sims and a couple of community lots short of reaching its population goal for the week, so we'll be back soon with a last Week 5 update.

Baccville Week 5 : Bitville, part II

So last time, the city received a new Business District, Bitville, with its 11 new households. I played them in alphabetical order, jumping from one to another, so they don't get individual updates, I'll just summarize here their first week in Baccville.

Obviously that's too many households to properly document their week, so let's just note the meaningful events, such as Greg Chomsky electrocuting himself (3 shocks unlock a position in Science).

Or finding the map to the Tropical Hidden Lot, while he's been wanting to visit the Tropics for days. Don't mind the unrelated stray cat keeping him company.

Let's do that, then.

Let's get the voodoo doll first, then you can enjoy your vacation, Greg, all right?

Greg not only obtained the Voodoo Doll, but also unlocked a position in Science by getting schocked three times in a row. And then he had coffee to regain energy, and he broke the dishwasher when he put his coffee cup in it. He had just finished repairing it, I had never had that happen before. Luckily for him but unfortunately for the challenge stats, he did not get schocked again while repairing it again.

Yeah, take it, you earned it.

Back at the camping site, Greg fell from the hammock. Seriously, Greg, no one ever falls from those, you must be like my second sim to do that.

As promised, after being tortured to obtain the doll, he got to enjoy his vacation any way he wanted.

He even found a girlfriend, the tropical Nettness !

I thought it might end with a proposal to follow him to Baccville, but it didn't. Maybe next week? Nett had the want to get engaged to Greg.

At Naomi Hunt's lot, someone messed with the trash and she didn't notice because of the snow, until it was too late and roaches appeared, ew.

Naomi could have dealt with that issue herself, but why not enjoy the fact that Baccville reached pop.500 and service calls are now unlocked, yay! Hello, exterminator NPC!

Naomi wouldn't mind getting to know Sherman Boggle better. That's great. I don't like her in the Life Stories game because of the way the scenario forces the player to have her marry Vincent, and I don't think they belong together at all. Why not the Sherman option instead, here. They had a friendly date for now, we'll see what happens next week.
And I summarized so much that I'm already out of pictures for these eleven new households, but the update is not over yet...

...because Chuck Sartor also moves to Baccville. Chuck is a townie from Bitville, where the eleven other come from. He wants to be a Business Tycoon, and that's what got him a ticket for the challenge. Like the others, he'll live in a Life Stories house, a little Townhouse from the bin.

While playing Chuck's lot, another Bitville sim, Johnny Cullen, decided to seduce townie Lisa in front of the little Townhouse.

You should have done that during your week, Johnny, you would have been married by now.

As for Chuck, he wanted to play Marco Polo so he playtested Baccville's new Unlocked Community Lot, Gene's Pool. Also from the original Bitville.

He didn't seduce her but he did meet townie Elise and flirt with her a bit, and she offered him better wages in return. Note to self, potential spouse!

And I'm afraid that's it for the Bitville folks and their first week in Baccville. I'm sorry about the random and uninspired update, but it was a lot of gameplay and it's hard to convert to a decent update. It's not the end of the fifth week of the challenge either, because I added even more CAS sims, I had accumulated so many of them! Next time we'll see who they are and I'll do a challenge stats recap after I'm done with this 5th rotation.

Baccville Week 5 : Rod Humble

I was so excited by the new Business District that I forgot to post Rod Humble's week which I had played before that.
So last time, Rod moved to Baccville where he opened a gaming shop, as well as started working as a criminal.

Rod apparently made enemies since we last saw him, I had him greet this socialite townie, Elisabeth Guillon, and she immediately jumped at his throat.

On Friday, Rod tops the Criminal career, which opens three new positions as per challenge rules (one in Crime, one in Law Enforcement and one in Intelligence). Good job!

All is not well, though, as this is what he gets when he tries to check on his business, Rodvik Games, on the computer.

He can visit his shop as the owner, but the NPC cashier, Antonio, is there. I had to sell the business and have Rod buy it back to fix this. It has its good sides as it lets the owner collect Business Perks again from the same owned lot, but it's still a nuisance and I sure hope it won't affect all my businesses universally. I'm not looking forward to having to buy all Landgraab businesses back in every Bluewater Village eveywhere.

Saturday: blah blah ransom of +55.000§ blah blah, yay chance card success!

Well, since money is not an issue, and Rod wants to buy a new business and he's been wanting to go roller skating all week, he opens a new business.

He gets to enjoy himself while charging the other skaters a little fee.

And of course it's more Business Perks.

Oscar and Metallica, the Servos from the Bigfoot household, like it so much they fall in love there, despite their negative chemistry.

On the last day of his rotation, Rod decides to visit Far East again and he takes with him his townie enemy, Elisabeth, the locals are shocked by such a bold strategical move from our gaming Criminal Mastermind.

Wow, Elisabeth really can't behave herself.

"You'll have success in your career path." Well, that would be the Athletic career, Rod switched to that so as not to clog a career track with limited positions. The Athletic career is completely unlocked.

Elisabeth finally agreed to leave the newspaper and the rubbish bin alone.

Oh, Elisabeth.

Elisabeth is a little sad that they have to fly back so soon, but she was all out of fountain soap anyway.

Back in Baccville, the "import section" of Rod's game otaku has new items to sale, dug out from Far East itself by the owner.

Baccville: Margison Household (Week 5)

Keats Margison has an alien baby, Jacob, and a little dog, Otis, and he previously moved in two elder townie ladies, one of which is still alive: Bim Yang. Also known as Stupid Bim.
He's also permaplat, and has a dance studio, that he never managed to visit this week, oops, even though it desperately needs to be extended and redecorated, since it's basically a ballet barre between four walls. His excuses are that he hates dance, for one thing, and he just had a baby, so give the man a break!

And these are Keats and baby Jacob.
Keats doesn't work today, and he won't go to work all week actually, because lvl 10 ballerinas don't work often, for one thing, and then he has his paternity leave.

The only "doable" want in Keats's panel this Monday morning was to cast a spell, and since he just greeted Servo Oscar...

-Magus mutatio!

I was expecting a positive reaction, Servo Oscar is a knowledge sim, but he even had the want, great!

Also, notice that model train table? ....................................... it all started with me thinking I should have Bim purchase a little community lot and put that there, since this is a very small house and no one else is into tinkering except Bim.
Then I started thinking of what kind of business that should be, and things escalated quickly.........................

... and it ended with Bim suddenly getting miraculously cured of her amnesia, and remembering that she can't have Three Kids Graduate from Uni because she never had children, but she did have a husband in a previous life: she's the widow of the train station master!

The ~~newly built~~ old station in what is now the Bellevue Business District was abandoned for years, but now Bim is purchasing and reopening it, just like dear, dear old Master Yang would have wanted it, may he rest in peace!

At last, trains will be able to stop in Bellevue again!

The train station is also a nice place to visit for railway and history lovers, it still has the original locomotive Master Yang's grandfather operated WAY BACK WHEN and it can be visited.

Hopefully, this is good news for the whole District, for instance for the museum which is really close to the station. Maybe it will now get visitors from other neighbourhoods.

Bim even found old railway uniforms in the service room, even a female one. Of course, they were a little outdated but so was ~~Bim~~ the station.

Alp: Who would have thought Stupid Bim would suddenly get her brains and her memory back like that. One should never give up hope!

Wise words, Alp, wise words, and it's a good thing you have wisdom, since you're the controllable in an ISBI^^

Ah, it must have been something, running a train like this one! Bim now remembers quite clearly her poor late husband talking for hours of how proud he felt when he was allowed to visit and his grandfather would lift him on the engineer's seat.

[I'm not overdoing this, am I :p]

Nowadays, being the Station Master is not such hard work, it's mostly helping the travellers with informations.

The passengers actually get their tickets themselves from this machine, whether they've already booked their seats online or not.

It's an old train station but it has all the necessary modern technology, fear not!

(Where to, Raimondo dearest? Leaving town?)

-Nope, I just wanted to sit and watch the trains go by ~~like my life did~~, but you need a ticket to access the platform.

Stop depressing me! D:

Clearly, there are not as many railway and history lovers as I imagined in Baccville, but some do occasionally visit the old train.

And enjoy feeling like a privileged passenger of the luxurious first class cabin^^ once upon a time.

-OMG someone stole a painting from the Second Class cabin! Who would do such a thing!

-I must inspect the rest of the train!

-Thank God, nothing else is missing!

Gvaudoin's sons then passed each other in the street, suspiciously going in opposite directions and acting like they weren't together, in the middle of the night XD
Give that painting back, you damn kids!

Blackadder, where the fuck do you think you're going, on a school day no less? If you think Bim is senile enough to let you hop on a train on your own and not call your mother, think twice.

Like all the first week settlers, Keats is experiencing a weird feeling...

You've had a bit of a rough start in this business-oriented challenge, but in the end I think you can't complain.

Wait... yes, yes he can! Some sims just like to be disappointed I guess.
Now you want to get married, woohoo, and throw parties, really!! Well good luck with any of that!

He doesn't have time anyway, an invisible force makes him throw baby Jacob in the air (ignoring my cake >[)

No lips, no nose, Shrek ears, a weird personality (Virgo, 10/7/0/1/8), happy birthday, Jacob Margison!

Of course, once I got that out of the way, I went back to play with my new toy, the station^^

Until it became a level 5 business, at what point the cost of the station was covered.
That's one thing this challenge taught me, it's always worth it to start a business, for the cash perks if nothing else.

And I'm glad Bim found her life purpose, albeit belatedly. And that she was cured of amnesia, obviously.

Uh oh... Bad Omen Rainelle on their doorstep...

Seriously... Every bloody time death visits, it feels like Rainelle is somewhere on the lot. Coincidence?

Goodbye, Bim! You tested my patience for weeks, but in the end we had fun with the station, against all odds.

Hey, Blaise. Funny you should visit now. I guess you and your brother can sleep peacefully now, or rather peacefully continue to sneak out at night and misbehave.

Jacob is going to have a bit of a weird childhood, isn't he? That's good, hopefully he keeps at least some of the weird when he grows up.

-So let's see... xylophones... Let's skip that chapter, shall we, you need to master logic and charisma before adulthood, so don't worry about xylophones.

Jacob: ...okay.
Keats: Ah! Here's an easy one! We're looking for a colour. Soooooooo, what colour is daddy's car?

Jacob: Ugly.
Keats: ... ... ... .... ugly is not... a colour, it's... yellow.

Jacob: But it's ugly, dad.

Keats: Well, I suppose it's not the nicest shade of yellow. But it's not like there's a lot of choice, and some of us have to have the ugly colours, otherwise the whole neighbourhood would drive the same car.

Keats: Sure, there are recolours. But car recolours are rather heavy packages, and we must think of the planet.
You will understand these things when you're a little older.
Jacob: Yes, daddy.
Keats: Ah, a tricky one! What's in that ugly community lot across the street?

Jacob: A satellite, dad. It fell on the lady's head.
Keats: O_o ...yes, it's a satellite! I am proud of you, my boy, you will be a little scientist just like dad someday.

Keats: And the next chapter is about xylophones again. Oh well, the schoolbus 's here anyway, off with you, young man! Enjoy your first day at school :)

The other townie who died the previous week still hasn't showed herself, but unlike Bim she was self-sufficient when she lived too.

It's almost a shame, she could have been a ghost in a haunted train^^
But since she's attached to her bed, I won't separate them.

During the weekend, the boys (Keats, Jacob and Otis) were finally able to leave the house! They did some shopping then visited the train station they had inherited from Bim.

Bloody hell, Humble, the woman just passed away! Have you no shame!

Jacob: Dad, why did you dress like that.
Keats: Why, is it ugly too?
Jacob: No. But it's funny.
Keats: Well get used to it, son. Someday, this station will be your duty and you will dress funny too :)

Baccville: Secundo Household (Week 5)

Today, we will be spying on Raimondo Secundo, his boyfriend Grégory (Greg) Wilson, and their three dogs.
Raimondo is permaplat (became Professional Party Guest), and Grégory wants to have 20 simultaneous relationships, though he's not doing so great so far (he has 5).

Sadly, that time has come, and Raimondo steps out of his car, back from work, only to become an old person :(
After all this years, it's still a painful moment, and the stupid witchy forced-makeover doesn't help >[

And where are his eyebrows!! >((

Grégory is sad like me, and hides in the little study, lest Rai should witness that moment of weakness :(

The cruel cycle of life goes on, though, and, good news! Raimondo found a boyfriend for Buxtehude!
It's Foulcan, a stray Chow Chow ♥

It was as hard as ever to get them to get into that house, it took two visits and hours of encouraging them to play together, but they lullabied on first try, w00t! And at least it distracted us all from sad thoughts.

And then it was time to visit Bellevue, the Business District, with Pompon. Raimondo got new clothes (he's Italian, that's all I'm going to say to explain the choice of outfit).

He made sure to pick them from the most expensive clothing rack from Chez Monsieur Alex, and dressing at Monsieur Alex doesn't come cheap to begin with. Compensation for BEING OLD :[

Pompon didn't buy anything, but he really enjoyed the shop too.

And this is the second reason Raimondo visited Bellevue today: his new business, Inter@ctive!
Yeah I've decided to try those premade business bin lots, that I admit I've never used.

It doesn't look bad and, besides, although he likes pretty things, Raimondo is a pragmatic kind of guy and not too picky about how his business lots are decorated.

One of my favourite sims in Veronaville is a pleasure sim with Games as OTH, just like Rai, and she runs a gaming business there. There's nowhere those sims could be happier, trust me :D

(Shibata, I'm not sure your mother Gvaudoin would approve of your infatuation with her oldest friend...)

Her mother is not there, though, so Shishi followed him around, telling him how much she'd admired him since as far as she can remember.

This maxis lot was a perfect choice, the business quietly reached Level 4 while Rai was crafting stuff in his cauldron, or socializing with the customers, playing with Pompon, and such. Rai can now manipulate the townies to give him MOAR fake monies.

Bwahaha^^
Raimondo didn't go greedy like Gvaudoin last time, though. He merely did it a few times to cover the lot purchase expenses (around 80k) and, you know, annoy the archenemy Luna Podmore the Evil Witch, as you do.

Then he set back the price to something that will allow the rest of the neighbourhood to visit when it's their turn, cleaned the place -or rather had a Spectral Assistant clean the place- and it was time to go home.

Where Greg had been a good boy.
Lots of skilling wants for Greg, lately. He can't quite decide whether to go for that promiscuous Romance Sim LTW, or forget about it and aim for Aspirational Permaplat.

Don't worry, Greg still dreams about other men, even as Raimondo lovingly cleans the pet bed just to be in the same room.
Ever since his birthday, Raimondo has thrown all pretences of indifference to the wind and is stalking his lover [=3 bolters again], terrified Greg could leave him for someone younger.

Or shall I say all pretences of dignity.

Grégory: Scrubing the shower, Rai? I didn't know you could sponge.
Raimondo: Haha.
Grégory: What gives, your Cleaning Ghost on holidays?
Raimondo: It's a Spectral Assistant.
Grégory: Yeah well, anyway. I could use a little privacy here.

A little later, outside, confetti!!

Pompon grew old!
He's one of those breeds that doesn't change much in old age.
It reminded Raimondo that it was time for Doudou, his first dog, to retire from his job as Pet Star.

Greg sold a masterpiece and rolled the want to let Pompon retire too. Aw, all right, let's have them both retire. And endure the crowded little house.

Since you care about the dogs now, why don't you take them to Bigfoot's shop and buy them collars?

Oh, right, Raimondo gave him a voodoo doll last time. Well, let's make some voodoo-friends.

Such as sim-Rachel, Bigfoot's permanent friend-from-work.

Lyla and another visitor were very happy to stumble upon each other here tonight.

I expected tears and slapping, as Greg is the father of Lyla's son (one night stand), but either the Great Divide fence on the floor is working, or jealousy in this game suddenly got intelligent^^

Just because Greg isn't jealous of Lyla, doesn't mean nobody is...

New day, new (premade) business lot for Raimondo, Pettina's Pet Retreat.
This one is Rai's gift to every pet lover in the neighbourhood, to just come and have fun with their four legged friends. No ticket machine, nothing to buy.

The street hosts this lot, then the Thelonious Simk Square (Music Venue, unowned), then Keats's Dance Studio, and that last building in the distance is Raimondo's Club.

As you can see, this strip of land is attached to a hill, meaning I wouldn't play residential lots there anyway, because the camera would jump up and down when rotated and that would annoy me^^
Across the street, on the right, it's the beach!

Lorin and Clifford's beach house is within walking distance, I'm not surprised they came to the opening of the Pet Retreat, even though they don't have a pet. (They have six flamingos :p)

Poor Lorin keeps randomly reverting to that ghastly pink maternity outfit even though I gave her another maternity outfit. Feel the flamingo love! :D

Lorin: So, I was thinking, we're starting with a handicap, because of the OWBC, and we need to work on our OTH to get that Genie Lamp ASAP, which is a requirement of one of our mini-challenges anyway. Since I'm all barbified by pregnancy and I get tired too easily, you have to work on the Junk Car tonight instead of me.

Clifford: Babe, you're so hot when you're all challenge-oriented and bossing me around like that :p But the way I see it, we're also starting with an advantage, because challenge households are more interesting.

I don't have much to do while Raimondo is working on his cauldron in these low maintenance businesses, other than observing visiting sims. And OMG Weedy is such a cheat XD

I usually play on bigger lots, and pet ghosts happily float about the garden without doing much scaring. Here they're bound to be more noticeable, but all in all Doudou is still a rather quiet dog.

And that would be it for Raimondo's update.

The household paid 7,940§ in taxes, and with two new businesses, gave Baccville 2 new CAS sims, but most of all, the next owned community lot will make the SM jump from 9 to 10 ^^

On Monday morning, the puppies still hadn't grown up so hopefully they're not stuck.

Lastly, I tested and indeed, as you discovered, lorinsv60, the cheap fireplace does appreciate to 6 times its initial value, but unlike the dreamcatcher once, it seems to be a one time thing only, it didn't change anymore after it became a 600§ fireplace XD
I didn't sell it so I'll keep monitoring it next time!

Alest Week 5 - Part 2

Welcome back!

In the first part of the update, Gvaudoin discovered that townies were willing to pay insane amounts of money to see the satellite that had once fallen on her and killed her. She therefore transformed her "shop of vaguely scientific stuff" in a sort of satellite museum.
As you can see behind her, a ~~bubble blower~~ highly technological oxygen dispenser was added to the lot so that visitors could get physically ready for the contact with the celestial debris, before they proceed to the exhibit room.

This...er infomachine videostation was added too. Visitors can watch its screen to learn stuff about... stars, the spatial conquest, astronomy, divination, and all that.

Look at those family funds!
And I thought selling TVs was real money... LITTLE DID I KNOW

Some family time before going back to business. Although the house is so crowded now, playing the businesses is more relaxing! And the kids wanted to buy all those noisy electronics that get on my nerves.

This one really made me laugh because, in French, to say that someone is the town bicycle, we say "the train is the only thing she didn't ride".
I'm going to assume the dirty joke was either about Lyla Vandermorgan or Raimondo's boyfriend, Grégory.

Benoît: I think my tender kiss was a more dignified way to go, that train joke really wasn't necessary.
Aline: Oh come on, you young people are such killjoys, these days!

Last school day this week. Plastic Flamingo can only silently disapprove of the growing pile. Snowman melts in shame.

Again, all three teens brought friends from school: Ripp, Can the ISBI kid, and Buffy the vampire slayer.

Saturday! Moving day for Shishi. She packed her stuff, including these 10 expensive televisions, she comes, after all, from a now rich family.

Boring BaCC considerations, skip if you want:
Speaking of which, you might have noticed that Gvaudoin did not fund a private University with her million §.
She made that money in like, 3 or 4 days? with no cheating whatsoever. It just seems too easy and not realistic challenge-wise.
At that rate, you can fund a Uni on day one of the challenge by starting with a fortune sim (for the energizer), immediately buying his first business, and staying there forever, until it somehow makes 1,000,000§ It would be a city with a Uni and a population of ... one :s
This city doesn't even have a mayor, heck it hasn't even unlocked the right to have a doctor's office somewhere. I don't see that it should have a University which, maybe for cultural reasons, I consider to be a big, heavy administrative institution.
I also don't want to deal with the Young Adults having to pay 50,000§ tuitions, or with having to shovel that sum towards the founder's household each time a teen leaves for Uni.

Tl;dr: for now, I'm sticking to collecting taxes in order to fund a State University. The challenge rules do leave the options open, at the player's discretion, so someone might still fund a private Uni at some point in the future.

Anyway, here's the Business District with the new apartment lot built for Shibata.

Better view. The lot is the Mortimer Avenue Condos by Simtopi, and the taller white building next to it is neighbourhood deco that will be Shishi's working place (LTW: Science). Until that time when she can hopefully open her own... lab-or-something business :p

So she moves in and is immediately VERY disappointed that the building has trash chutes on every floor.

By the way, do not use Cyjon's Random Apartment Residents which is a broken mod as Chris Hatch explains here. I've spent a lot of time wondering what was making it misbehave in my game, and it was actually not my game.

First post of the city's fifth week!

So this is the founder's household: it's Gvaudoin Tricou from the premade Downtown, she's standing in the middle with husband Adrien.

Their three kids are
-Shibata, the teen in pink sweater on the left
-Blackadder, the teen in cameo pants
-Blaise, the teen in the white jumpsuit

Two elder townies also moved in:
-Aline on the left, in grey
-Chloé, in a red apron

Last week, we had the first death in the neighbourhood! It was another moved-in old townie, and she was friends with these two old ladies it seems, as they both inherited some money.

And here's my beloved founder skilling for her LTW.
She's usually the one that is being spied on, but when she spies the victim is the second sim of the hood, Raimondo Secundo.
The funny fact is, that really is his house. For once the telescope points in the right direction :D

Other funny fact: Raimondo is a wizard, he cannot come and slap the spying sim.
Moved-in townie Aline here just achieved permaplat by watching his house: she had the LTW to max all skills.

She did get the Science Hobby Plaque while she was gallivanting with aliens around the milky way, though :D I'm surprised she didn't have it already, I guess there's just so much to do in a BaCC.

Since several household members were awake now, they decided they might as well open the grocery store earlier, today.

Blaise managed to sell a new bathing suit to Clifford, Lorin's husband from a couple updates back. Clifford had a "naked" outfit for swimsuit, and he lives on a beach, so, well done Blaise!

Weedy-Cynthia was an oceanography god or something in her previous life, and helped choose the new outfit.

Gvaudoin's back. But it's half past six, she's leaving for work in a couple hours, without the needed logic point :(

Whhaaaat... somehow she sneakily maxed logic during the abduction? You can see that the want is still locked, it's not that I missed the pop up.

Oh great, that means she has time to dye her hair before work instead of telescoping.

Old Aline, on the other hand, has nothing to do, now that she achieved her LTW. She felt like having a date, so she asked higher-chemistry-in-the-relationships Benoît to meet her at the museum. They both look like the kind of people who'd enjoy a realistic date.

As opposed to, you know, burning hot dogs on the streets and banging in photobooths or in a car in front of the grocery store :D

After watching the paintings, they lingered some more and danced in the museum hall.

Aline let him know she had really enjoyed their date.

Antonio Schneider: This fake job wouldn't be half this bad, if I didn't have to witness all this old people love.

After the date, Aline was feeling restless and decided to visit one of Gvaudoin's businesses instead of going back home.

A million years ago, I built this stadium according to challenge rules, and then I never even played it, save for some playtesting. I guess it being a 5x5 lot made me fear lag.

Turns out, lag isn't an issue, despite the snow. This thing, however, is. Sims, playables especially, are attracted to it something crazy, and just order again and again.
In the end I deleted it. It works great on regular community lots, in my experience, but not here.

Other issue: patrons won't touch anything else than the running mats, in the work out area. Minor issue but still.

This one ate so many hot dogs at the food stand that all the running didn't help :D

Another one bites the dust.

Weedy seems to be the only playable immune to the food stand's power. She actually comes to the gym to work out \o/

And get fit.

Aline is constantly trying to work the massage table, even though no one asked her to.

For some reason, patrons are not in a great hurry to receive massages from an almost naked old lady.

-Sure I can, and thanks to it, I can also have the hot tub all to myself.

And she also visited the sauna! At least she made the most of that free entry Aline granted her, unlike all the other, hot dog-obsessed, playables.

And here it is, ladies and gentlemen, the ultimate business perk that I knew about, but had never used before: manipulation! Which is really another Dazzle, just stronger.

Only the business owner can use it, though. Time to go home.

Where Gvaudoin achieves permaplat by becoming City Planner! YAY! All the hard work has finally paid, and topping architecture is really hard work here, as my fellow BaCC players know :)

How fitting that she gained the ability to use the energizer at will just after she became a Manipulator, hehehe.

New sim in town!

Welcome, Lorin (by Lorinsv60) !
Notice the great LTW, and notice the flamingo shirt: Lorin will be doing an OWBC! Which, for this first week, won't translate into much more than wearing this shirt and having a few flamingos on her lot, so there's no need to have studied the rules extensively to follow.
FOR NOW.

Lorin buys the next available beach lot (her neighbours are the Michels), and decides that her first autonomous action should be to get a tan.
Priorities. She has them.

Also, the lot should at some point host this house, or as close as I'll be able to build anyway.

I don't usually pay much attention to interests, but since I have nothing better to do while Miss Mesavista gets a tan: she is interested most of all in paranormal, for some reason, then culture and fashion, then crime, then travels.
The one thing she really doesn't care about are sports. But food, health, environment and the weather forecast are pretty boring too.
I should pay attention to those more often.

The paperboy brings the paper, Humble brings a computer, and Cookie the stray comes to stare.

Boring welcome wagon consisting of beach-neighbours Quinkie Michel and Alex Neengia, and of Grégory Wilson.

Greg the (wo)manizer is attracted to Lorin and immediately starts a conversation, but she lets him know that she's a family sim and is only interested in Golden Anniversary material, not becoming one of someone's 20 lovers.

The welcome wagon goes to kick the flamingos, and this boho townie comes and offers Lorin a job in the Adventure career path, as a Relic Liberator.
She takes it, it requires a lot of skills and friends she doesn't have, and she did want to "get a job".
It also requires a Museum community lot, which doesn't technically exist but virtually does (I have one free community lot to place).
Building time, I guess!

(And this thing is already unlocked, although Lorin cannot use it per OWBC challenge rules.)

After a nice first day at home, it's time to go looking for a spouse in the Business District.
First stop is Chloé's Grocery Store. You don't mind if we borrow your energizer, Chloé, do you^^

I totally forgot about it though at the end of the week, I should have abused it to pay more taxes. Like most players I expect, I don't take advantage of that bonus, it feels cheaty even though it's technically not.

A NPC cashier was generated, Antonio Schneider, even though all shops are player owned. Antonio is just there to pretend he's selling museum tickets.

This is townie Grob, and downtownie Cuchulainn, courtesy of esmeiolanthe (thanks!). He's one of the hidden Downtownies that I can never have in my hoods because I restrict townie regeneration, but I made a new batch of townies/tourists (and also let the game generate some), and he's one of them.

The last household (Weedy) had to fetch a spouse from Takemizu, and the one before that (Coleman) didn't even find one, so I thought it was time to add some new faces.

Clifford works in Games, he's going to quit because he can find a better job, and I don't want to spend their money on all the electronics required to be able to work in that career path (BaCC rules). They have a house to build.
He also has a bronze badge in Toy Making.

All right, since I spent so much time on the rest of the week and this update is almost 100 pictures long, I'll picspam the honeymoon on tumblr instead.

When they came back, Clifford took a job in the athletic career track because it's unlocked.
They paid 1860 § in taxes.

So! The museum is the tenth community lot in the neighbourhood, which means the Sim Multiplier is now 9 (pop. 315)
There are eleven households: one more and I'll have earned a free Community Lot, and this time it'll be the Military Base, since that's the last career-unlocking community lot I have to add.

This calls for yet another new household to add to this 4th week. Although we'll have the first born-in-game baby become an adult next time in the founder's household, so she could create that new household too.
But since I have 6 available CAS sims, might as well use one (6/16).

Baccville: Coleman Household (Week 4)

So this is Glen, by Tiipiipii.

I try not to introduce similar CAS sims twice. Last time it was Weedy from a prettacy, this time it's therefore a male sim, more average looking, basically the hot guy next door.
The guys next to my door are not at all this hot though :/

I thought it was Weedy last time who'd have an impossible LTW, graduate 20 children or the likes, and instead it's poor Glen who rolled what must be the only Fortune sim LTW he can never achieve: become the Law (only available to sims with a diploma per challenge rules).

Clearly, Glen is an apartment kind of guy, and thanks to him the neighbourhood gets its first apartment lot!

Hi, Glen! Welcome home!

Glen wants to work in architecture, and there is one available position.
He's lucky because I've had to move him in and out a few times to fix random stuff in this newly built lot, and architecture wasn't always among the offers of the day. But he always had the want!

You know how landlords are mostly jerks in this game, well Glen got along really well with this one, even though the man had a little trouble with the concept of boundaries.

At least he looks really happy while stealing Glen's money :)

This is the first time I've tried having a car in a garage that is not part of the playable's apartment. It works fine (of course you need to enable build mode to be able to place the car in the garage).
The only trouble (unless you want to see it as a loophole for easily scored aspiration points^^) is that the sim will keep rolling the want to buy a car even after he already has one.

Speaking of issues, in case you'd build the same lot yourself, the paperboy doesn't bring the paper to the door, he leaves it near the portal. Rod Humble correctly delivered his computer in front of the apartment door and not outside the building, though.

There was nowhere where to get a massage, so I shamelessly copied the massage lot I made for another neighbourhood.

All right, landlord, I hope you enjoyed your vacation and pouring soap into fountains again and again and again and again....

They come back in time on Saturday for the landlord to organize his little party. Of course pizza delivery is not unlocked yet but the landlord is awesome like that, he has some secret pizza smuggling connections.

He had to party alone in the laundry/whatever/service room though. But hey, he got the pizza to himself. Even better!

Oops, the landlord got fat. But PIZZA. I think it was worth it.

The week was ending so Glen introduced himself at last to his neighbour Amélie. She too was good friends with the landlord and promised Glen a cheaper rent from now on.
Wow, we didn't bring the right sim on vacation. Do you hear that, landlord??

Glen and Amélie saw more of each other during the weekend, but Glen hasn't expressed any romantic urges for now.
That's cool, he can stay "that hot single guy who recently moved in in the newly built apartments ~~downtown~~ in the business district" for now.

He also bought a guitar (OTH Music) which probably won't help him develop his social life, but I'm confident he'll do that as visitor while I play other households.

Taxes: something ridiculously small, given that the lot himself doesn't count on apartment lots. Which makes them not so great for this challenge but I'm still glad I placed this one because it looks good in the (sub)neighbourhood.
I'll do a full recap of challenge infos when the week ends, soon, but for now I still have 6 available CAS sims, and the pop. reached 264, which unlocked the first position in Education.

Baccville: Magpie Household (Week 4)

There's a new sim in town...
But who could it be....

-I wanna go home, to TigerAnne's computer, away from this maxis-matchy hell.

She doesn't want to introduce herself so let me do it. This is Cynthia Magpie, better known as Weedy, from TigerAnne's Magpie Prettacy.
Weedy is a neat freak, a family sim with no playful or nice points at all. She's a second generation spare, and is originally daughter to Garden Club premade Allyn Thomason.

Here she rolled the LTW to become Captain Hero, which is doable!

After two beach updates I needed a change, and Weedy becomes the first household in the Bellevue Business District. We're building her a nice big house, I think this is actually the biggest residential lot in the neighbourhood (4X4).

Further up the street are the existing businesses, and in the opposite direction, the street leads to the beach. An excellent location! Nothing but the best for you, Weedy!

The first day was uneventful in terms of spouse hunting. The many visitors Weedy met on her lot or on community lots were all playables, married, women, or didn't appeal to her.
Better luck tomorrow, hopefully!

Better luck indeed: a blind date! With a Far East local: Crispin. This is not the first time Crispin tries to immigrate from his native Zaru Soba, he already fell from the sky for the founder waaaaay back in week one.

Let's see how it works out for him this time.

Though it's fairly certain that they would breed horrifyingly :D

That epic first kiss scene...

So one thing lead to another...
I know she looks half horrified, half appalled, but please believe these are all her wants.

They kept rolling matching wants for woohoo, first woohoo, then engagement, then wedding and throwing a wedding party. It was nice of Crispin since he's a knowledge sim, and as we all know he could have plagued the date with wants to cheat death, be struck by lightning, see ghosts and such.

Instead, he became Crispin Magpie (+6000§; Pisces, 9/6/6/0/4, LTW Gamer)

Weedy immediately rolled a want to go on holidays. Obviously, as a family sim, she's eager to meet her in-laws, and she made reservations while Crispin was fetching this beautiful bouquet for his bride.

Enjoy yourself, Weedy darling! Don't go on any dangerous tours or anything, and please behave appropriately with Crispin's folks, this isn't the Magpie prettacy.

First thing she did upon exiting the airport shuttle.
Well, it's never easy meeting the in-laws. You look fab, Weedy, don't worry.

Crispin's first cousin, Thomas, was supposed to greet them, but he was a little busy with weird-hat-guy.

So Weedy and Crispin decided to er.. explore the tents until Thomas was ready to show them around.

The tourists were shocked, but Crispin's other cousin, Audrey, thought it was funny.
[She's one of the local goths, Narrator, if you happen to read this^^, so she's happy that her cousin can have true love <3<3<3]

Later, they met Crispin's ninja uncle, but the uncle said it was too late to go up in the hills to see Crispin's father, and to come back the next day.

The next morning, Crispin went to see his uncle once more, but it was still impossible to climb the hill as the road was apparently blocked [grrrrrr!]

Meanwhile, Weedy had forgotten what we had agreed on about appropriateness.

The evening brought good news: the road to the hills was to be reopened.

-It's okay, my uncle said to visit him tomorrow morning and he'd give us a lift to my father's place.
-About bloody time, we have to leave the day after tomorrow.

Indeed, the next morning, Weedy met her husband's uncle.

Weedy thought he was rather queer, but then again she came from a "different" family herself.

Crispin's uncle had all kind of liminary informations to give before they could visit Crispin's father, which was some kind of local pope or something, and you had to act accordingly around him.

-Also, my brother is very, very old, don't be surprised if he doesn't always make sense. We usually just nod and say "yes, oh wise old man, whatever you say".
-....?

-Now don't you start patronizing me! I'm not a barbarian, I know how to deal with old folks!!

(Giving them a heart attack by sneaking on them?)

-He's dozed off, and probably half-deaf anyway, there's no safe way to approach him!!

Weedy: -What! A man the age of your father shouldn't be living on his own, and like this. At the Magpie house, we might have been trolls but all generations lived under one roof and looked after each other.

-Your concubine has a strong temper, son. It is good to have an entertaining companion, but how will she get along with your other concubines should you acquire more?

Weedy -... !!

Before flying back home, they visited Crispin's many cousins to say goodbye. As usual, Crispin had to engage in some gratuitous PDA.

Not sure but hey, the tear in her lower lip is fixed from this angle!

By the end of the week, both Weedy and Crispin had found jobs in their respective LTWs. Weedy in law enforcement, and Crispin in Games. In case you're not familiar with the BaCC rules, he needs to have all these things to be able to work in games (and the expensive computer they got from townie networking is in his inventory).
Next week Crispin plans on opening a pachinko arcade.

Yes, another one! I'm sorry for eating your friends page with all these updates :/

This is another new family, CAS sim Jean Michel integrated the neighbourhood last week (1, 2, 3)
I must have made like 5 sims in all my years of playing this game, it's really not my forte, but I do like his looks.

So last week, Jean (male name, it's the French "John") married townie Quinkie, and they had a baby boy, Benoît-Joseph [Ben-WHA].

He's Popularity and she is Pleasure, and they both have stupid LTWs, which I guess is fitting for this challenge: they don't have to worry about what is unlocked or not.
Jean took a job in the Business career track last week (his want). And he's building himself a nice beach house next to that of Rainelle Neengia.

Monday night, it's cake time for baby Benji!

I DID go a little crazy with his father's eyebrows, but I'm glad he inherited them.

In fact, looking at the pictures folder, I mostly picspammed this little guy all week.

And here's Jean, the CAS sim I haven't even shown yet, Benji's father.

Yup, more toddler picspam and not much of anything else. Oh well, at least it's going to be a short update!

And another birthday (Thursday). Rainelle's son Alexis can now have a friend his own age.

I got a little carried away building the house and didn't think to leave any money to pay the taxes!
So I played on their next Monday, with Quinkie digging the front lawn for treasures. She didn't find the treasure chest but Jean came back promoted to CEO, so they were able to pay their 3353§
That's where I left them since I had already trespassed on week 5.

Next time, the neighbourhood will welcome a new sim!

Baccville: Neengia Household Week 4

Week 4 of the challenge, but second week only for Rainelle, which is about to shooflee in a bathroom, in true sim fashion.

It's a boy! Baby Alexis Neengia.

And this be the proud father, Alex, who used to be the Arts & Crafts Hobby guy until someone set him and Rainelle on a blind date.

Raimondo apparently knew that Rainelle was due this morning and comes to visit.

That's, like, extremely rude, Raimondo :D

It looks like Rainelle had some thinking to do, she went to sit on the beach and look at the waves.
She works in the police but the money is short, every simoleon is put into building the house.
Alex is determined to "find a job", but Rainelle knows he'd rather raise a family while somehow making a living with his creative skills and badges.

Meanwhile, it's Rudeness Day in Baccville. Alex greeted the blond townie on the porch, and then blond townie greeted Lyla Vandermorgan who was passing by, and now Lyla is greeting this jogging chick.

Right. Both townies were among Lyla's "20 simultaneous relationships"...
Enjoy your slap in the face, Lyla. Serves you right for inviting yourself in.

After she slept on it, Rainelle has decided that it's time already to use the last Genie wish. She kind of didn't intend to use all so soon, but they need the money.

-Please, sir, I want some more.

On Thursday night, it's cake time.

Looks AND personality mostly come from daddy.

Luckily, Alex is aware that he's a straight face template: he wants another child.
He has also been working on a few creations, while taking care of his son, and is ready to open a Couture business, and hopefully become a rich tailor.

Alex buys a nice strip of lawn in the Bellevue business district, across from the Grocery store and next to Ripp Vandermorgan's Fast ~~Food~~ Robots.

And he builds and opens his shop, chez Monsieur Alex. Hopefully, there will be some demand in this neighbourhood for quality, tailor-made garments.

And with that, Alex pockets the last of the Cash prizes. He went from nothing to over 70 000 § on their bank account. (Monsieur Alex is now a lvl 5 business.)

Back home, everything is fine, Rainelle hasn't visited the shop yet, but she has to take it easy, with her second pregnancy, and she has skilling to do for work anyway.

Alexis is growing fast.

And he's already a big boy, a very cute one too!
It's sad that he's currently the only child in the neighbourhood, though. But that should change with the next household.

Back at the shop (level 6 now), Béa the ISBI spouse has come shopping for a new outfit to better represent her new, happier self.

(How good it feels to have playables who can afford shit, instead of giving me the "I'm just looking" speech bubble :D)

(Though I don't understand why Alex doesn't have to sew new clothes, he's been selling the same 7 outfits he had in his inventory since he opened shop.
I installed the H&M SP recently, does this have to do with using the H&M clothing racks maybe? Or it could be an M&G thing? I installed M&G belatedly too.
I know that my sims used to have to sew more outfits after a while.
Oh well, makes it easier so, thanks game, I guess!)

Saturday night, Alex is going home after another fruitful day. He wish he could have dressed even more Baccville citizens, but tomorrow is Sunday, non-working day.
Rainelle is due sometime this night anyway, he couldn't leave home even if it wasn't Sunday.

Yup, it's another bathroom shooflee.

Alex couldn't be happier.

This time, it's a little princess: Lise [Liz] Neengia! First a boy and now a girl, how great. Lise has all of mum's colourings, but do the blue eyes mean she's also inherited their shape? Time will tell. ~~Unlike~~ ~~some people~~ ~~I will be patient and not have a peek in Bodyshop~~^^

I can't deny Alexis his want to "swim in the ocean", even though it's winter. Just a quick dip won't hurt, and it's a rather warm day.
(It was winter last week already but I've discovered Paladin's season adjuster since then and I'm synchronizing the whole neighbourhood.)

-AAAAAAH, THE TWEED, MIND THE TWEED!!!! Ugh, your brother never did that.

Sunday night, Lieutenant Neengia, getting fit. Not bad considering the two pregnancies. She now has access to the Fingerprint scanner, and there are other positions available in Law Enforcement anyway, she can afford to take her time climbing that ladder.

And that's it for Rainelle's second week.
Playing beach lots on this map is an enchantment, and the next household is another beach house, yay!
After that, I'll probably be adding some CAS sims (8/15 available), I've been slacking with that and should really work on adding to the playables count (now would be the right time to offer selfsims and such if anyone's interested^^). I have a huge list of bookmarked/downloaded sims, I'm just lazy because adding households means more building :p

Baccville: Bigfoot Household Week 4

This time we visit Bigfoot's hut! Not in the mountains, but in the main neighbourhood, where Cyrille Bigfoot lives with its own creation, Servo Oscar.

I totally forgot when I played the Alest household that Bigfoot was waiting for their daughter to transition to adult, which would have unlocked the job in Entertainment he dreams of. And so she's still a teen and Entertainment doesn't exist yet in the neighbourhood. Sorry, Bigfoot :p

What does exist is a grocery store, because of which (I guess?) some households have food baskets delivered the first time I load them, while others don't, not sure what's up with that exactly.

It's not like this household really needed it either, Cyrille Bigfoot and Servo Oscar had 8 food baskets already in their inventories!
Oh well, I guess too much food is better than starvation.

I remember planning on moving Servo Oscar out to a new lot, but not only does he stay, Cyrille Bigfoot crafts another Servo to keep him company. A lady robot, this time: Metallica!
She has no badges at all, but has all skills mastered. And she wants to be a dancer.

So, boring job data:
-Bigfoot is a Business Tycoon
-Oscar just took the first position in the Criminal career track ever opened. He's already permaplat but topping Criminal unlocks OTHER STUFF so it needs to be done
-Metallica takes a job in the Business career track since it's unlocked (until she can find a job as a Dancer)

Bad news for the Uni Fund: Oscar loses 25 000§ on a chance card on Tuesday :/
That's a lot but hopefully with three highly skilled sims in this household, all working, they should be able to earn the money back by the end of the week.

Metallica already wants to visit the Far Far East, and why not!

Metallica is not travelling alone, she invited Mohamed, an old townie she became friends with.

Local greeting: check! Now that we got that out of the way, let's explore this place a bit.

Starting with this thing across the street. For once they take the right portal, doesn't it annoy you when they exit the lot on the right while going somewhere immediately to the left on the map!

Ouch, the bees! Not sure why a robot would fear bees but they did chase Metallica.

Then the ninja escaped before she could greet him, but she got better luck on this other lot.

Yay, on first try! The sword, of course, the sword came first!

Metallica then visited a Wise Old Man, she needed his wisdom about the moral predicament Oscar found himself in, having to work as a Criminal because of the limited employment possibilities in Baccville.

The Wise Old Man briefly pondered the matter while sipping his tea.

After what he stood up and invited Metallica to partake in his early exercise.

The mind couldn't think at ease, he said, until the body had warmed up.

Metallica was pretty clueless when it came to body warming, but it would have been rude to object.

-"Besides, said Wise Old Man, only the Fool makes decisions before the Sun has risen, as Fortune would not favour them."

-Another Morning Calm is now born, its wisdom has dawned on me, Foreigner, sit and I will share it with you.

-Thou art thy neighbour's keeper, Foreigner, however, it's okay for your friend to be a Criminal if such Misfortune has befallen on him, as long as he doesn't steal from his own neighbourhood.
-Oh no, it's got to be outside somewhere, because a carpool comes for him and everything is within walking distance in the neighbourhood.

After thanking the Wise Old Man for his time, Metallica collected Unwise Old Townie at the campground and they flew back home.

Aw, Metallica got a Thank You card from Mohamed the old townie.

Let's put it with all the gifts Bigfoot receives from his coworkers everyday (they can soon open a flowershop :D).

On Thursday, Oscar is promoted to Criminal Mastermind!

"Wherever there are people there is also crime. When the population of the town reaches 100 one spot on the Criminal Career track opens. Every time a Sim reaches the top of the Criminal Career, they open an additional position in both the Criminal and the Law Enforcement careers."

And another rule:
"Intelligence: A position in the Intelligence Career is opened each time a Sim reaches the top of the Military, Criminal, or Science Career."

So Oscar just created 3 jobs: Crime, Police, Intelligence.

Ouch! I didn't know the SentryBot attacked for that too.
I understand defending the domestic gnomes when someone is trying to steal them, but come on, that townie was just kicking the Flamingo!

Aw, Sim Van too? Come on, Sentry, I like having townies around, and you're chasing everyone away!

And this is what Bigfoot brought from work today.

Speaking of work, there is an opening in Dance, Metallica's LTW, she takes the job.

I guess it's true that chicks dig bad boys, then! Anyway they have a crush on each other now.

All right, it's the weekend, Bigfoot doesn't work, time to open the bookstore, the neighbours must be all out of reading material since last week.

Bigfoot meditated outside while the Servos did the actual work. He doesn't like running a business and the Servos needed the Badges.

After they went home, the Servos went to work, and Metallica is already a World Class Ballet Dancer (permaplat).

A bit of a stupid end for an update, but the CleanBot broke Sunday in the evening, and the Servos spent the night filling a couple compost bins with the trash the bot spewed out. Hey, why not :D It might come handy for gardening someday!
Servos can die by flies as far as I know but I took the risk, and with three knowledge sims in the household, surely they wouldn't have minded cheating Death had it come to that.

No one died and their lot was worth 91 742§ by Monday morning (4 587§ taxes paid).
Last time, I counted the business' worth too for this household, but that was actually the only time I did. I have since decided once and for all ~~for now~~ that I would be counting the residential lot's value only.

Yes, we have reached 10% of the goal and I'm very happy about it :)

Baccville: Easbee Household Week 4

This should be a short one: the Torch Holder skilled for promotions, and the other two did nothing as I can't control them.
It was far from boring but not too picturesque, if you want.

So this is the ISBI household of Baccville: Alp (Family) was randomly generated in CAS, ex-jock townie Béa (Knowledge) is his spouse, and their son is Can [Tchann].
They don't really have BaCC oriented goals (unlocking stuff or such) but of course they follow the build-a-city rules.

I gave them one last chance to try for a baby, but like the previous week, it didn't work. Family sim Alp didn't even have the want.
All it did was attract creepy Can who has made staring at his parents in bed an habit.

Alp likes to influence his wife to serve meals, to develop her interest in cooking since she's a housewife. I don't think she's revealed her OTH yet but it doesn't mean she can't find happiness in other hobbies.

I wouldn't mind a house fire either, but Béa is quite competent and never sets the stove on fire.

Little Can leaves for school, Alp leaves for work, and Béa worries and worries.
Alp has an impossible family sim LTW, he works in science because a position was available to him and it's his OTH.

Béa used to be in the army when Alp met her, but she had to quit ~~per challenge rules~~ because she now lives too far from a military base.

Alp got demoted (grrr chance card) but it's okay, he was able to go back to work and be re-promoted, meaning more money from the bonus.

And that is when I spotted the missing wallpaper on the Vandermorgan house across the street. Could it be what had been fuelling Béa's depression? Surely watching such horror daily for hours was bound to cause the sanest mind to falter!

After school, Béa and Can sat skilling quietly at the chess table, so Alp left them to it and went grocery shopping by himself.

After buying food baskets and mobile phones at Chloé's, Alp went to Ripp's Fast ~~Food~~ Robots to "buy a robot".

Man, I'm still not used to playing businesses that are the actual retail shops where the rest of the playable sims go shopping :D Ripp didn't restock before his week ended, and he's out of sentry bots. Alp bought the last two available products: a hydrobot and a vacuum thingy.

I didn't want the sentry anyway and I don't even know why I made him buy the CleanBot, those are lethal weapons in the hands of uncontrollable sims (death by flies, TRUST ME ON THIS^^). But no one else can buy bots from here before it's Ripp's week again, oops.

What.. How come Alp paid 1800§ and Ripp only pocketed 600?! WHEN DID BACCVILLE BECOME A SOCIALIST NEIGHBOURHOOD??

And it didn't even fulfil the buy a robot want! I guess you have to buy them one by one for that?

Alp: -I mean, what's next? Political trials for deviant thinking??
Raimondo: -Oh I wouldn't worry about that, we'll be long dead by the time the Law career track is unlocked.
Alp: -YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT!

Later that night, Béa has scored a lot of logic points at chess but as usual she never rolled the related wants so..

My thoughts exactly, Can: suck it up, Béa!
I mean I used to be sympathetic, I would ask other sims to talk to her, tell her jokes, and what not, but at this point it's obvious she's just enjoying wallowing in self-pity.

Still Alp influenced her to unclog the broken toilet, in case she yearned for a mechanical point, but there was no progress bar above her. I guess she has mastered mechanical when she was in the army.

Ha! I knew it, there's nothing a few harsh words can't fix. After I scolded her the previous night, it looks like the drama queen decided to roll normal wants at last, even if it's just a cheap "play chess +500".

SEE? Was it that hard, Béa? Master logic +8000. Couldn't you do the same last week when you mastered creativity for nothing?

All right, enough with the chess table, your son has something he wants to show you.

(I'm not sure what it says about me as an ISBI player when the Torch Holder is the only one who isn't in platinum^^)

So I hate diary but I remove (most of) my no-autonomy mods to play this household.
It's all right, Béa, pour your soul into it, it's just you in the room.

Oh look, this is the first time I got the message saying that Can is starving and what kind of parent lets that happen.
He played chess almost until dawn, I have to get rid of the chess table, after he's mastered logic (challenge rules), or move it where it will be less attractive.

The school bus woke him up, but his motives must have been too low and Can didn't get on the bus. Which he had a fear of.

Obviously Can didn't want to miss school so Alp bought a little car and took him to school himself.

I thought Alp was going to be late himself because of it, but he managed to make it in time and hop into his own carpool just before it was too late, yay!

Oh, a family meal at last, how lovely.

Can: -I heard there was this thing called the telly. Are we getting one someday?
Béa: -Well, we got one from townie networking, a kickass flat screen it was, too. But someone sold it from your father's inventory.

Yeah, someone hates television, deal with it. I'll buy you one eventually, when the house is not so bare, and it's easier to ignore the blasted thing^^

Can is such a little cheater, haha! I don't know his stats but I like him, he's a grouchy, quiet little thing.

Ta da, logic mastered for the kid. That's one position in the Science career track when he transitions to adult.
His father occupies the only available position right now. Alp has made it to theorist but he won't be able to top the career as it's already Saturday and he doesn't work tomorrow.

Baccville: Vandermorgan Household Week 4

Yes, it is I again with another update. The previous updates of the Vandermorgan household are available here.

Lyla and Ripp, mother and son, are both romance sims.
Ripp is a teen, Lyla is working on having 20 simultaneous relationships, and Joshua here must be one of them, I guess he caught Lyla cheating ~~years ago when I last played this family~~.

Lyla had a fear of falling out of love with him, and yet it happens even as I clumsily try to mend their relationship. I guess I underestimated how hurt his feelings were, and he rejected her, oops :p

But Lyla is dead set on becoming permaplat, and immediately rolls the want to "love Joshua" again. Monday morning is spent working on that.

And then it was robots and more robots.

And then, all was ready for what I thought was a brilliant business idea.

Selling the food the munchie-bot kept hoarding, as take-away! Ripp purchased a small lot in the Business District, to start his business later, after school.

Being self-employed, Lyla makes her own schedule. Right now, it's time to visit the new grocery store, and seduce some more sims.

I guess she's a bit of a kleptomaniac and "forgot" to pay last time she was here: as soon as she got out of the car, she went to pay something hidden in a shopping bag she had stashed somewhere in that car of hers?
Well since she felt remorse and paid her debts, I say we forgive her.

Lyla met Charlie Misericordia, unaware that he was really the neighbourhood burglar in victorian disguise, dun dun dun!

It was true woohoo at any rate, and another notch on the car's dashboard.

Then Lyla visited Big Books, Bigfoot's bookstore (and another architectural masterpiece^^).

And more public-woohoo-with-random-townie happened.

But Lyla had to leave this place too: the business owner's motives are unfortunately not frozen while other sims visit them. The whole neighbourhood will soon have red memories of wetting themselves :/
How did you do back in the wilderness, Whatsyourface Bigfoot, couldn't just find a tree outside or something, honestly!

So Lyla visited Raimondo's ~~kind of~~ Club next, and, would you believe it, once you drive to a Bandatron operated business, you HAVE TO pay no matter what .
She got this pop-up that says basically FIRST YOU PAY THEN WE TALK whatever she tried to do, even just get back in the car.
Geez, what if someone just made a wrong turn!

All right, here's your 13§. What a scam.
Of course, Raimondo in the back wasn't helpful at all, Lyla being the woman who got pregnant by HIS boyfriend. He just kept playing darts and ignored her.

Fool me once!
After that traumatic experience, Lyla remembered Baccville has a FREE park, and went there to torture an innocent piano.

Somehow, the audience seemed to guess that Lyla had only one creativity point.

15§ ? Really? That's not a tip, that's an insult.

But let's not dwell on that and focus on this hottie instead, Algie Smith, who, despite his fancy coat, dwell doth not in the Palace of Neverending Light.

Just as Lyla and Good Algie were starting to explore their three-bolts chemistry, who should show up but Joshua the townie scorned.

-Oh, Joshua, I'm so sorry, I swear this has never happened with someone else, why does it always have to be you!

-Wait, what... what does that even mean!

-Well, Joshua, you have to admit that you have this uncanny ability to arrive at the worst possible moments. You make your own luck or misery, you know, if you didn't stalk people like that, you wouldn't witness things you shouldn't, and get hurt.
I'm going home now, but please stop by ~~every couple of hours to steal my paper~~ later so we can talk about this.

Someone else stopped by first, Charlie the burglar.
Oh Charlie, you shouldn't have ~~stolen those somewhere to give them to Lyla~~!

So! School is over, Ripp takes the car, today is the grand opening of his first business, Ripp's Fast Food.

Well that dream didn't last: 2§ is very expensive! And that's the highest you can set the price.
The whole pizza.
Or the entire tray of eight Chinese meals.

And the game considers that it's still a 50§ profit. Because 2-40=90 as we all know.
And the best part: customers think it's still too much, it took Ripp hours to sell that pizza!

On the plus side, Ripp got a gold badge in sales in record time :D

Aw, Grégory, Ripp's father, came to comfort him.

That was an interesting experience, but since Ripp had loaded the car with Lyla's crafted robots "just in case" (and how right he had been), I guess the business needs to be renamed to Fast Food Fast ~~Women~~ -er Robots.
After he sold everything, Ripp went home.

The next two days consisted in more crafting bots and flirting, for Lyla, and on Friday, Luna Podmore the ubiquitous evil witch was Lyla's 20th simultaneous relationship. Permaplat!

Her next LTW is the athletic career, and since it's unlocked and there was a position available, she took it.
She had been having wants to find a job ever since she rolled that secondary Fortune aspiration, so I guess it's all for the best.

Speaking of which, Ripp earned a secondary too (what I call "earn" is that I roll for the secondary once they have nowhere to spend their new aspiration points, then it's time to open that fourth column): Ripp is now Romance/Popularity.

Saturday, it's time to go sell some more take-away robots.

Greg! Shame on you! Considering that is your son that you never raised a day in your life, you might want to be a little nicer to him!

And now this townie has some shocking revelations for Ripp about Greg. And only last weekend father and son were bonding so nicely!

That bad, uh?

The blow to Greg's already blurry father figure caused some emotional distress for Ripp, who indulged in nervous eating with the customers and became overweight!

And the Chinese food didn't help with Ripp's bad skin either.

The business was doing fine, however, and again Ripp sold what robots he had and went home.

On Sunday, Blackadder Alest, Ripp's best friend, visited. And he'll probably remember it for a long time. First, he got food poisoning.

And then he unwisely attempted to pet the skunk...

AND he had to watch his sister and Ripp snog. I'm not sure how it made him feel but he made a funny face.

Just as I was thinking that this was going to be the first household NOT to visit Tahitiki, less than an hour before Monday and the new week officially started, Lyla thought it would be nice to visit that tropical destination everyone went to!

I had been postponing building a hotel there, but I meant to do it. Since the beginning I decided the vacation destinations would grow with the neighbourhood, like at first they were preserved from tourism and the BaCC sims were the first foreigners to visit. That's why there was only a campsite and not many places to visit.
Now that Tahitiki is becoming popular in the neighbourhood, someone there sensed a business opportunity and built a hotel.

Meanwhile, tourist Alexander loves the hotel's restaurant very much and just had lunch there three times in a row!

The next day, I didn't see it but Lyla was kind enough to be struck by a lightning. I think the count is still 4 electrocutions for poor Keats Margison, so this would be number 5.

They didn't find the map until the last day (at least they dug out two treasure chests and a ton other stuff), and Lyla let Ripp have the doll since he helped and fixed the bathtub all by himself.

And I'll confess I forced Ripp to sunbathe just before the shuttle came for them, otherwise he would still be binge eating in the restaurant in his winter coat.

Maybe as a punishment for my cheating ways, he got those weird white lines on the shoulders, I don't know if it's a known bug or something with my default skintones. But I don't care I'm still happy I cheated, I've had enough of red sims in these last updates.

And yes I commanded Ripp to go in the water at least five minutes, it was just too sad that he spent three days there and never swam in the ocean.

Back at home, I made Lyla wish for wealth because I couldn't stand paying peanuts in taxes. Neither of them had the want but Lyla wanted to make 9000§ so it still counts as simcentric gameplay, I say.

Shishi was still there from her pre-vacation date with Ripp, so they had another date. It must be love because she didn't care that he got a skin disease. However she's the only female teen in the neighbourhood (but they do have a two-bolts chemistry), I can't wait to see what happens when they grow up and whether they stay together.

I don't feel like building/redecorating now, so they just dropped all the crap they dug out on the few available tables/endtables and stuffed the rest on these handy shelves FOR NOW.

Come on, that's what you do when you get off the plane, there's the jet lag, and the phone calls and you have blogs to update and you need to shop for groceries, you can't just get home and start redecorating, right?^^

So next time, we'll be visiting the ISBI household (yay, depressed Béa!), and here are a few challenge facts:

Thanks to lorinsv60 for reminding me that Keats had a baby last time so that there are now 25 playables, i.e. a population of 200! (SM=8)

Ripp's business of phail still counts (it has walls and a roof and everything now) so that's 8 residential/8 community lots, 1 Business District, 4 unlocked career tracks, actually 5 virtually but I'm waiting to see what community lot is useful to someone next, and then I'll place it (a museum or military base most likely).

I still have 7 available CAS sims, I'll probably add some at the end of this rotation, dunno.

Baccville: Margison Household Week 4

This week, let's visit the third settler of the neighbourhood, a sim originally from the Life Stories game, Keats Margison.

Previously, Keats was a depressed and conflicted knowledge sim: he needed to run a dancing class in order to unlock his LTW's career track, but he didn't like running a business when he could have been skilling instead.

Those sad days are behind him now. Keats has topped the dancing career and achieved permaplat. The Dance career track is unlocked to all thanks to him. He lives in a little house with Otis the dog, and two old ladies (remember, we will need graves for the future cemetery!)

This week too starts with a trip to the newly opened Grocery store, to buy cell phones. Hey that's the first blue bag sold here! :)
Blue bag lady is Aline, one of the two elderly townies Keats moved in with him. She's a popularity sim who wants 20 besties. Let's then go to the local park to make friends.

This community lot is also the "Music venue" which unlocked the Music career track.

And Music is Aline's OTH, so this was perfect for her, she even earned some money performing.

Aline was not alone, Otis the dog was with her.

Yak yak yak, the popularity sim's routine. At least now she can do it on the phone.

Back at home, here's Keats fixing himself a nice used orange car.
I had this dream of ONE car dealer for the whole neighbourhood, but Keats wants mechanical points, and fixing cars is such easy money.

Here, have your cell phone, stupid Bim, though I don't know who would call you.
Bim is the other moved-in townie. She's half brain-dead and what little brain cells she still has are used to annoy me.

Yeah, I want to see a ghost too, Keats, and I hope it's Bim's ^^
For now, though, there are still no graves in this neighbourhood.

On Tuesday night, something very cool happened...

You see, here was Keats, minding his own business, ~~by which I mean he was summoning aliens~~, when he felt this looming something...

I need to picspam a bit, I haven't seen this cut scene in forever. It's so cute.

Aline was pretty cute too when she went to look at the sky from an upstairs window while Keats was missing.

Keats returned as the sun was rising. It was dark outside when the spaceship appeared, and bright daylight by the end of the cutscene, never had that happen :)

Now this is all very nice but it's not going to change Keats' plans, and those are to visit the tropical destination. Last time there was a broken arch in the witch doctor's house, which I fixed (hopefully), but it needs testing to be sure.

Someone looks happy to go on vacation!

Going with him are Aline (the voodoo doll is hers if they can get one), and Béa the depressed ISBI spouse. I figured it was allowed to invite her since she'll still be in ISBI mode, left to her own artificial intelligence, or lack thereof.
I can already reveal that it was all for nothing, no matter what I try with her, I never see aspiration points above that blonde head. I would sure like to know what her wants might be!

The seasons here are set to four summers, but each visit is different. Last time there was a hailstorm, now there's a nasty heat wave, everyone is red in the face, even the locals.

Too hot to sleep in a tent, is it. Well tough luck, that's all there is^^

Since it's too hot to sleep, Keats and the ladies visit the hidden shack on the beach.

Hurray! The broken arch from last time is fixed.
I was eager to playtest because I used a new method for fixing this hidden lot: the loadlot cheat! No need to un-hide/re-hide the lot using SimPE. I have updated my tutorial on vacation destinations with the result of this test. (Can't wait to redecorate the Mysterious Hut in maxis-made neighbourhoods).

Keats is an accomplished mechanic now, he easily fixed all that was broken, Aline will have her LTW-doll.

But not before she shares the latest gossip about stupid Bim with Béa.
Aline is actually very kind and patient with Bim, we won't hold this little bit of gossip against her.

As soon as they left the hidden lot, Keats gave Aline the doll, which was apparently a sad experience for all present, for some reason.

First voodoo best friend is local Dean Bora Bora, but you can't see the doll because it's behind him.

Meanwhile, the heat is just getting worse. It looks like this was not the best summer to visit Tahitiki.

It became so bad that Béa left! I know from experience that guests can't die on holidays, unlike the current household. If their motives drop too much they will "leave" the lot.
Here I selected Béa without cheating, without looking at the bottom of the screen, and indeed she was about to pass out from the heat.

The next day was mostly spent on community lots, with Aline trying to voodoo-friend everyone.

There was a lot of back-firing, but Aline is very old, she can't afford caution if she is to make those 20 BFs.

It was a good vacation in spite of everything, everyone got their three bonuses.

Back in Baccville, Keats, who is also a warlock but lacks competence and has no ingredients in his inventory, flew to the Palace of Neverending Light.

He was understandably shocked to find evil Luna Podmore there instead of a High Witch of Light.(It's okay, Keats, probably I deleted the Good High Witch, or messed something with my empty templates, just ignore her ^^)

More voodoo-friending, activity which was then relocated to Keats' Dance school. Remember, the business he had to lead to level 5 to be able to work as a dancer (LTW).

Like so.
Aline befriended the customers, but also invited more townies to visit, by phone. One of them asked whether her friend could come too...

The friend turned out to be bloody Bim Yang! Yes, stupid Bim, from the same household! Bim, you annoying hag, don't you think that, had I wanted you to tag along, I would have brought you myself??

See? Even depressed Béa agrees with me, she complained that stupid Bim should make herself scarce.
Admittedly, depressed Béa is not a sim anyone is happy to meet either, but maybe she's not aware of that.

Anyway, since stupid Bim always has low aspiration, therefore low motives and therefore cannot use the energizer, Aline had no choice, she had to close the business and bring stupid Bim home.

Where Aline achieved her LTW on Thursday night: 20 best friends, yay!
(In case you're wondering, making her achieve permaplat had nothing to do with the BaCC challenge, I just feel it's my mission as player and try to achieve it with all playable sims).

Saturday morning, winter started, and Keats started feeling weird...

Welcome to Baccville, Jacob Margison, 118th sim of the neighbourhood :)

Just after Jacob was born, I noticed his father had earned a secondary aspiration, and he rolled Family!

Since Aline and Bim were there to look after Jacob, Keats went to work.

And then Aline died before I had time to take her phone and voodoo doll, use her aspiration points, and sell her bed, which to be honest was kind of rude of her after everything I'd done for her.

So I exited and reloaded like the dirty cheater I am, and she was able to die properly.

22 heirs, who all got more or less the same sum, no surprise there.

Of course stupid Bim was late to the party.

And who should I find on the front lawn while Death was visiting, but creepy undead Rainelle Neengia.
Did you have anything to do with this, Rainelle??

Whoa, townies, rude! Wrong time, wrong place, Otis hasn't even finished howling.

Sunday night, Bim wanted a date, and invited her highest chemistry/relationship, townie Joshua Tsang. He was head over heels and wanted to love Bim, to get engaged to Bim, to marry Bim, but I just wanted to give Bim a better aspiration, so they had a chaste and appropriate little date during which Bim apparently blessed him? In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, go find a woman your age, Joshua, amen!

Ha! I see! Joshua had a fling with romance sim Lyla Vandermorgan next door, and they didn't end it on friendly terms. You're confused, Joshua, that's why you are making terrible decisions like wanting to marry Bim! You shouldn't use someone as rebound, not even stupid Bim deserves that.

But it's nice of you to have brought a flower for her grave :D It appears Bim was younger than Aline, but she cannot have much more to live either.
