SilverRide Launches East Bay Paratransit Service with Transdev, LAVTA, and County Connection Partnership
New assisted transportation service across California’s Tri-Valley and Central Contra Costa regions add to SilverRide’s growing footprint in the state
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – January 15, 2026 – SilverRide Inc. (“SilverRide” or the “Company”), the nation’s leading mobility-as-a-service technology platform for older adults and individuals with mobility or cognitive challenges, today announced a new contract with Transdev North America Inc. (“Transdev”) to provide supplemental paratransit service for two regional transit authorities in California’s East Bay region: the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (“LAVTA”) and the Central Contra Costa Transit Authority (“CCCTA” or “County Connection”).
The service, which launched in November 2025, expands accessible transportation options for aging and physically or cognitively disabled riders across 15 communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The phased launch begins in LAVTA’s service area, with expansion into County Connection’s territory. An estimated 25-30% of trips will serve passengers requiring wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
Partnership Deepens Transdev Relationship
The East Bay service continues SilverRide’s expanded operational footprint as a subcontractor to Transdev, the largest private operator of multiple public transportation modes in the United States, operating 17,000 vehicles across 46 states for more than 400 communities nationwide.
This new service adds to existing SilverRide partnerships with Transdev in San Diego and Orange County, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
“This partnership reflects the collaborative and flexible approach needed to meet growing paratransit demand across the Bay Area,” said Carmen Alba, Senior Vice President of Transit for Transdev’s Northwest Region. “The partnership with LAVTA has been exceptional. They’ve demonstrated the ability to deploy quickly and maintain the service standards our transit agency partners require and that our riders deserve.”
Serving Award-Winning Transit Agencies
LAVTA operates Wheels, providing fixed-route and paratransit service to the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area. LAVTA serves approximately 1.4 million annual riders across Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and surrounding communities in Alameda County. The agency received the 2020 APTA Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award for systems providing four million or fewer passenger trips annually.
“Paratransit riders in the Tri-Valley deserve reliable, accessible service they can count on,” said Christy Wegener, Executive Director of LAVTA. “This partnership adds capacity to meet the mobility needs of our community while upholding the service quality our riders expect.”
County Connection provides fixed-route and LINK paratransit service across Central Contra Costa County. The agency operates 121 wheelchair lift-equipped buses and serves approximately 2.8 million annual riders across Clayton, Concord, Danville, Lafayette, Martinez, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, and surrounding communities.
“Bringing on an industry-leading provider like SilverRide allows us to better respond to demand fluctuations and ensure LINK paratransit riders receive consistent, high-quality service,” said Bill Churchill, General Manager of County Connection. “Their focus on accessible transportation and building a driver network of skilled drivers who can meet our requirements aligns with our commitment to the riders who depend on us.”
Scalable Model Positioned for Growth
SilverRide delivers supplemental paratransit service with drivers who are more heavily screened than general ride-hail services, subject to background checks, drug testing, and credentialed for assisting passengers with mobility needs. Its platform integrates with existing transit agency dispatch systems, enabling seamless service delivery alongside traditional paratransit fleets.
“The Bay Area represents exactly the kind of market where specialized paratransit capacity is essential,” said Jeff Maltz, CEO of SilverRide. “LAVTA and County Connection have built strong reputations for service quality, and we’re committed to meeting the standards their riders expect. This new partnership demonstrates the scalability of our model across multiple agencies and service areas within a single region.”
The company delivered more than one million rides in 2025, doubled ridership in the first half of the year, and is on track to double again by mid-2026. SilverRide now operates in more than 35 major metro areas across 15 states, and maintains over 95% on-time performance across its national driver network.
