It's time for school! - A Community Lot School Tutorial

I promised getmygameon at tumbler to make a little tutorial on how to set up a community lot school, so here we are!

First things first, to successfully build a working school you need some hacks.
Those hacks are:

iJ School Bell

iJ School Pupil Token

iJ School Class Controller

iJ School Class Place (recommended!) or iJ School Class Table (you are not able to choose a different table if you pick this one!)

Either download Inge's original School Hacks and edit her items to show up for community lots yourself, or (and I would recommend that for simplicity sake) go and download the set already edited to show up on community lots as well, it is by aelflaed and can be found here (Apartment Life is needed though). The link to the edited files is in the description, just scroll down, it's the last one before the credits (the mediafire link)! Alelflaed's edited set has the bonus that it is shift able with Apartment Life though, a definite plus for me!

However there is still one vital item you need to get from Inge, the ijSchoolClassPlace.zip, it includes two files you are going to need later on, SchoolClassPlace and SchoolClassWork (you can get the ijSchoolClassTable instead if you want, however you cannot choose which table you want if you get that one, the Class Place leaves you more freedom and I'm going to explain how to use it below!)

Step 1 - SimPE

Unfortunately one of the itmes in the School Class Place as to be edited in SimPE to work on Community Lots, but don't worry it is not as hard (or complicated) as it sounds! Start SimPE and open up ijSchoolClassWork.

In the Resource Tree click on Object Data (OBJD). There should just be one entry, called Homework, in the Resource List, click on it and a tab of the same name should open up in the Plugin View.

Change from Catalog Sort to RAW Data. If you have done this, you should notice the words Binary, Decimal and Hexadecimal on the right side. If you open up RAW Data for the first time Hexadecimal should be chosen, change the selection to Decimal instead. As you can see the numbers down below have changed from something like 0x008b to 139!

Scroll down a bit until you find 0x0064 Community Sort. Change the number next to it from 0 to 1 and commit your change!
That's it! You have successfully edited the file to now show up on a community lot as well! All that is left to do now is to click save and make sure that you have all the necessary files in your Downloads folder (or a subfolder of your choice...).

A small hint, either make a collection for the items or download Inge's collection file, trust me it will be much easier to find what you need when you start placing the controllers and stuff in your school!

Step 2 - Placing the Hack Objects in your School!

The next step is simple: fire up your game! Plop down a Community Lot and build a school of your preferred size and style! (I recommend at least one traditional classroom with desks, and a study/art/logic/music class for skill building! I have built this tiny school for the kids in my TEST hood (yes, that's the actual name of the neighbourhood, it is mainly for testing new clothing meshes and my defaults anyway. And also please ignore the lack of CC, I had forgotten to put anything besides my Default and Hack folder in and I didn't want to restart the game).

When you have build your school to your liking, save your game (because you never know what can happen, right?) and find those school hacks! The first things you need to put down is the school bell. I would recommend to put is somewhere near the exit, or another prominent position, because you will need it to start and end the school day during game play.

Next put down the classroom controllers, one per classroom. With the classroom controller you can start and end a lesson, and appoint a teacher to a classroom.

If the room is a conventional classroom you also will need some desks for the students to do their work on. If you have chosen the School Class Table, simply put it down and place a chair in front of it and you are done. If you have chosen the School Class Place (like I have), you can place any table or desk you like in your classroom. The Classroom Place looks like a little pencil, it is not very noticeable in the catalogue (it looks like a black line) but it is clearly a pencil once you place it on a table. You have to put one of those pencils on every table you want to use as a desk for students to work on!

The last item you need to place is the Pupil Token. Place one for every student you want to enroll (if you don't know how many you want to enroll, just place them in the school later, I just like to do it upfront). It is used to enroll the students into school later on. If you've downloaded aelflaed's edited version and you have Apartment Life you will be able to shift them up and down the wall and place them one beneath the other like I did in the picture. If you didn't download the edited version (or don't have AL) all pictures will be on the same position as my upper row! Your future pupils will appear in front of the tokens every day (as soon as you click Start School on the School Bell), so be sure to place them somewhere accessible, like the hallway or the classroom (or even the attic if you don’t mind teleporting them down!).

A neat trick I found out while searching for other tutorials is that should place one of those open/close shields on your school, trust me it will come in handy later on! I also would recommend to place/spawn a visitor controller to ban witches from the lot (that way you can avoid the lack that occurs before they turn up!).

Step 3 - Setting up your School (and actually playing it!)

Now go and visit your future principal and make him purchase the school lot you’ve just built! Unfortunately this is necessary unless you want to set up your school anew every time you want to play it! (If this doesn’t bother you, just skip this step!) As soon as the purchase is done you can sent the principal down to the school (I let him close the school as to not be disturbed by visitors!)

I’m going to use the freshly created Walter Principal and the kids and teens of my TEST hood to show you how to set up your school. So let’s start by appointing Walter as the new principal! Click on the School Bell and choose Set Principal to..., you can choose any sim on the lot to be the new principal of the school. You absolutely need to appoint a principal, but don’t worry the principal can double as a teacher as well! You also can set up some School Rules or Start/End School with the help of the School Bell!

Next click on the Class Controller, because we are going to set Walter up as the school’s one and only teacher now! You can appoint every sim on the lot as the teacher, so if you want somebody else to actually do the work, just teleport them down to the lot (with your preferred cheating way) and set them up. Just click on the controller and choose Set teacher to... and pick the sim you want to teach in the classroom you are currently in.

Now, we actually want to set up this class for studying at the desk. Click at the Class Controller again and choose Pre-set Subject... followed by Gradework. This setting means that your future students are going to (mostly) sit at their desks and work in their workbooks.

If you choose Classroom period under Pre-set Subject, your students will stay in the room the controller is set in, but will move around freely. This is perfect for a study room, a music or art class or whatever else you can think of!

There are a couple of other options also found on the Class Controller:

Pre-set class - let’s you appoint a certain class to the classroom (more on that later)

Timetable Grade work/Classroom period for all pupils/class - lets you set up a timetable (appoint a time when the class takes place for example Monday AM or Tuesday PM etc.)

Start/End Grade work/Classroom period for all pupils/class - start or end a lesson

Home room for... - I’ve never used this feature before, but I guess it will direct students who were appointed to a class to a certain classroom at the beginning of a school day?

Remove [sim name] as teacher - remove current teacher from class

Congratulations your school is now set up all that is left to do is enroll students! Click on one of the question mark pictures aka the Pupil Tokens and pick Enroll... You now have the choice between Child and Teen. I have chosen to enroll some kids to my school first. You can choose from all the households in your neighbourhood. Simply click on the name of the child you want to enroll, and voila the child will appear below the picture! You can enroll as many children and teens as you want! Don’t worry if the question mark stays on even after the child/teen has appeared. The picture will only show up after you have unpaused the game!

Now I promised I would explain why there is the option to pre-set a class in the Class Controller. You can sort your children and teenagers into four different classes. I think I’ve read somewhere that the classes should represent different grades for your students, but I don’t have enough kids and teens in my BaCC hood yet, so I have not tested this feature out properly! To set them up in a certain class, just click on the Pupil Token again and pick Assign to Class..., like I mentioned you can choose between class 1 to 4. The Class Controller then lets you appoint a certain class to a certain classroom!

You also can expel a student from school, just click on the Pupil token and choose Expel [name of sim]. The student in question will not turn up for school the next time!

All that is left to do now is click on the School Bell and start your very first school day! Have fun!

Ah well, I normally don't talk about real life stuff online, but I have an upcoming interview for a position as a foreign language assistant in Great Britain in about two weeks and I'm required to give some ideas on how to introduce British students/pupils to Austrian culture. (Have I mentioned that I'm really nervous about it? No? Well I am...)

I have no problems with the lesson planning aspect (after all, I've done that before) but I'm not sure what not-Austrians would consider Austrian culture, or simply know about Austria at all..

So it would really help me if you could maybe some of you could send me a message, or answer with what you know about Austria or would love to learn about it if you were in school and would learn German?

As my computer is working again (sorta) I've been slowly downloading the stuff I had before it decided to crash on me. But these cacti I really loved are eluding me so far -.-

Maybe somebody recognizes it and can point me in the right direction?

Computer Problems

My simming computer has recently decided to not boot up anymore. According to my brother it might only need a complete reinstall to work again. I hope he is right, I don't really have the money to buy a new one at the moment. To buy a new one I would have to lend money from my parents or my granny...

Either way all my simming stuff is lost, which means I will have to start all over again (with those default clothings I had half finished and my Uberhood, yay me -.-).

At the moment I only have the small notebook I use for university (thank god, or I wouldn't be able to finish any of the papers I still have to finish...) but this means no Sims for me any time soon -.-

That Uberhood Project - Pleasant Round 1

It's a rainy and cold day, perfect for playing Sims and posting another round of my Uberhood!

Had them lying around in my Download-folder for a while now, today I finaly took the time to take some ingame pics! Therefore I present you, "That default project - part 2!"

Basically this one has the original shirt, retextured trousers and Yuxi's Converse.

This is quite a simple replacement. I loved the suit tomwood1906 and the default that le_plat_du_jour made out of it, but I wasn't nearly that fond of the shoes, so I replaced them with some wedges (mainly because I LOVE to wear wedges ^^)
The black one replaces afbodysocialworker, I tested it in my game so the social worker should turn up with this suit ^^
The brown one replaces afbodysuit.

Oh, there's only one file, replacing both afbodysocialworker and afbodysuit!

The tweed jacket is simply a darkend version of the original Maxis one, the sweater underneath has the same texture as my sweater dress replacement, the jeans and boots are by esperesa both...

Oh procrastinating, why oh why am I so good at it?

I'm currently writing a paper for one of my teaching methodology classes, and. I. don't. want. to.! I have no page or word limit, but that only means that I'm going to struggle to finish even two pages, and I somehow have a feeling that the paper should have at least 5 to 7 of them... so instead of struggeling with CLIL theories and using English during History lessons, I'm rather posting another update of my Uberhood! YAY, I guess... ;)

That Uberhood Project - Broke Round 1

Uh, quite a while since I last posted, isn't it? Well, I've been quite busy at University, leaving me almost no time for my poor neglected Sims and my default project. But I managed to play my Uberhood once in a while... and therefore I present you "That Uberhood Project", which basically is just me playing and making over each family in my Uberhood! ^^

If you are wondering why half of the picturs seem strangely dark, that's because of the lighting in the Broke house, which is wonky or maybe set this way by default, who knows... Of course I only realised that there is a cheat to edit the lighting file after I finished the week -.-

Dustin is the perfect big brother in my game!
He is a Fortune Sim (3/6/4/6/6) and has Family as his second aspiration.

Perfect working hours for a single mother with a teenage son to look after the little ones :)

The lenght of this round varies from household to household at the moment, depending which day of the week the family is at when I'm starting to play, but they all end on Monday of the following week, after that I'm planning to play each family for a week (Monday to Monday).

How will I know - BG dress with Nilou textures and trapping wedges

Remember the default I made from that black and white BG-dress? I really liked the mesh so I decided to slap more of Nilou's beautiful textures (stolen from her Mrs. Mashuga dress, found here) on it and share it with you! ^^

I only made the eight colours I normally end up using, but as the dress part is simply copy and pasta, adding the four remaing colours should be quite easy.

Zhulh - GoS Good Genes Challenge V

GoS had another Good Genes Challenge and as I quite liked the final three spawns I decided to share them with you!

Zhuhl fell in love with Monica Bratford and they had three rather... interesting... children together. Friday, the most charming of the three siblings caught herself Cyd Roseland, giving birth to Schneewittchen, Aschenputtel and Prinz. Schneewittchen was chosen as her heir purely by her awesome choice of clothing (a towel, she transistioned into a blue towel!!!) and after persuading Castor Nova to start a relationship with her they had three lovely children. Sherlock, John and Molly. In the end John made the race and therefore I present Mr. John Nova!

Look what I made! My first ever mesh plus default replacement! :D

Well my first ever shoe swap to be more correct, but it is a new mesh nonetheless! And because I'm too happy to keep the stuff for myself you get the goodies too!

Just a quick note to let you all know that I won't be updating my BaCC anymore.
With University and my teaching practice and almost no freetime at all, I just don't have the time to edit pics and writing any stuff for my BaCC.

Trust me it was a hard decision but I simply do not have the time for any updates and I won't have any in the near future either. I probably will continue playing my hood as I would miss my little simmies terrible otherwise, but I really don't have the time to make proper updates anymore. :(

Ah well, maybe I find something less time consuming to post in the future... ;)

Caelum Week 5 - The Nyx Family

Long time no update... sorry about that :s
University is really stressful at the moment and I scarcely had a day off with all these papers, presentations and other stuff I have to prepare and write.

Oh well, as I've decided to take the weekend off I thought this was the perfect opportunity to update my BaCC! So here you go, week 5 of the Nyx household! Enjoy!

Now that all the kids are old enough to visit school, Nuru has finally more time for herself. Although more time generally means putting toys away and gardening.

Ayazo manages to get promoted! Soon Caelum will have its very first mayor! ^^

As of late Subira has started to hang around whenever Aemon comes over to visit her sister. Mirembe is not sure how to feel about it, she is feeling very uneasy, especially since her sister started to tickle her boyfriend and making those lovey dovey eyes.

After this little kiss Subira should have realized to whom Aemon belongs...

Ah well, seems like it didn't work. Because I'm pretty sure you don't hug your sister's boyfriend like that!

Ever wondered how things are decided in Caelum? Wonder no more!
First of all a round of rock-paper-scissors is played to decide whether Ayazo's or Scott's idea is being realized. After that a quick round of gossip assures that the local town leader is up to date on the towns... ah well gossip... XD

Oh early morning bliss! Akinyi and Uluyo still love to fight. There isn't a single peaceful moment in the house when both of them are around!

Surrounded by her family little Akinyi turns into a teenager!

Akinyi is a Sagittarius (5/5/9/8/1) with the Family/Knowledge aspiration. She likes fit, blonde haired guys without hats and really hopes to marry off three children in her future.

Spot the difference! (And no, not the clothes or hair, differences in the facial structure, there are some, I promise! ;) )

Akinyi turning into a teen seems to have worked wonders in her relationship to her brother!

Well, at least her relationship to one brother. Now that she's older she has discovered that there are two more brothers to torment in this town!

Oh hello matchmaker! I already wondered when you were going to show up! ^^

Nuru decided to take her daughters on a little trip to her shop. Both Mirembe and Akinyi are natural talents when it comes to selling stuff. Subira... not so much. After this afternoon Nuru decided that it was in the best interest of her shop to leave Subira at home in the future...

Good news is that Nuru has finally managed that damned cash register! Yay! ^^

Guess who has taken a liking to the shop and now wants to own it oneday! ^^

Birthday time again! This time both Uluyo and Mirembe are about to grow up!

First of all Uluyo.
Uluyo is a Taurus (5/5/3/8/4) with the Popularity/Pleasure aspiration. Like his father he dreams of having 10 simultaneous best friends. He likes Sims with glasses who are good at cleaning but isn't into Plantsims.

Both her father and stepfather are really proud of her! After all she's the first teenager to grow up into an adult in this town! ^^

Thank god! It looks like Akinyi and Uluyo are still getting along! No more fights in this household! :D :D :D

Caelum - Year 1, a BaCC Overview

I thought an overview at how Caelum progressed during the first year (aka the first 4 weeks) might be a good idea. So here it is! ^^

I also made some family trees (but totally forgot to add the original settlers siblings, but who is whose sibling can easily found out by a quick visit to Meet the Settlers...), as some people mentioned that they got a little bit confused of who is the father to some of the children.

Ah well... let's jump right in, shall we?

Caelum has grown immensely during the first year of settlement. Eight families live live now in the once uninhabited area of SimNation, and the number is steadily growing, seeing as each family has a huge number of offspring ;)

Now, that we've taken a look at the basic information, how has the life of the settlers changed during the first year?

Family Tree

Things are running rather smoothly in the Nyx household. Ayazo is acting as a judge at the moment but he still hopes to become mayor sooner than later. Nuru was able to open up the little shop she always dreamed about and is trying to persuade one of her children to take over the shop in their future.
Speaking of Children, Mirembe is almost an adult now and plans to move out as soon as possible. As does Subira who hopes that Akinyi can be persuaded to share a house with her. Little Uluyo only hopes to be finally left alone by Akinyi at the moment...

Family Tree

Life has been pretty good for the Wilders. Caleb loves being a house husband and caring for their children (including little Cyrenny, he doesn’t make any differences between her and his sons). Mara on the other hand has almost reached her secret goal of becoming a superhero. Both Aemon and Janos have inherited their mother’s witchcraft, whether this is also true for little Renly and Cyrenna remains to be seen.

Seth has finally settled down, or so it seems. Being a father has changed him, although he hates to admit it. He rarely sees his sons, which makes him pretty sad, but he knows that Nephthys is never far away. Although his little girl is a little more lonely than she should be, but at least she now has company in form of her dog Egypt.

Jolene has finally found happiness in form of her husband Scott and her children. Because Scott now works for Ayazo, their little shop is now her sole responsibility, not that she minds that though. Kenneth and Laurence have turned into teenagers recently and are sure to make a lot of trouble, at least little Madeleine is still the sunshine she always used to be.

The Myrthrae family is one of the most quiet (and the richest) in the settlement. After his divorce and his marriage to Clare everything started to run smoothly for Eilreir. Clare doesn’t mind that he is a werewolf. Or that her children are werewolves too. Since a couple of days Eilreir can be considered “The Law” and it almost seems as if Sylria wants to follow in his footsteps. Arrahd on the other hand has no real plan for his future, therefore Clare decided to let him have her shop in the near future, which would give her enough time to focus on her career as a scientist.

Rose’ daily life is a struggle. She doesn’t have much money and the man she loves is a vampire who is too much of a Romance Sim to ever be faithful. At least she has her sons. Niall and Alcide are always there for their mother. Niall has already taken over most of the household and even Alcide tries to help his mother as much as he can, seeing as there is another little one on its way.

Darwin never thought that he one day would move to Caelum when he took the job to deliver the mail to this little town. But after he met Seth and their little daughter was born he decided to move there. It is safe to say that it was the best decision of his life! He now has a beautiful wife, Auggy who is working in the Oceanography career, and four wonderful children. Nephthys (who is living with her father Seth), Giles (his firstborn) and the twins Harris and Summer. Life really couldn’t be better for him!

Anderson had to wait a long time till Cleo agreed to move in and marry him. Now his life couldn’t be better, well if you exclude their financial problems and the slight job problems that is. He always dreamed of becoming a father, a dream that finally has been fulfilled with the birth of his twins Emerson and Addison and the family soon will have another member as Cleo is currently pregnant again!

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Just a quick note to let you know that University is starting again tomorrow, which basically means I won't have as much time for playing with my Sims or doing Sims-related stuff as I did during my semester break.

In detail it means I won't be able to play my BaCC as often as I would like, or even post updates as often as I would like. I will try to post something every week, but I can't promise anything, as it's going to be quite hectic this semester, with me having my compulsory "Schulpraktikum" (which means teaching practice, I'm going to two different schools to sit in on English and History classes and teach some of them too) and the accompanying coursesI have to take at University.

Good news is that I have actually played week 5 up the Myrthrae family. I only need to edit those pics and post them, but of course that takes time too and I still have to finish two papers for last semester. -.-
Oh the joy of studying! ;P

I won't vanish or anything, I just won't be able to post as "regulary" as I was used to...

Oh, I don't know if you are interested in that, but I'm trying myself on some shoe-swaps and defaulting, so keep looking I might post some of my shoe-swaped defaults later on ;)

Caelum Week 4 - The Greye Family

With this post we've reached the end of week 4! Yay! ^^
And because I've absolutely no idea what to babble about before we start, let's jump right in!

Having the sole responsibility for the towns children and their education can be a hard task. One day Anderson finds himself caught between the choice of near frozen students and buying bullhorns. He decides that frozen students are definitely a no-go and buys the bullhorns. Which although better than frozen students, didn't work out, as can be seen by this two nice pop-ups... unfortunately those Simoleans were all the money the little family had. Leaving them with absolute no money at the start of the week...

Their money problem is also the reason why ~~I ahem I mean~~ Anderson and Cleo forgot their little ones birthday. Therefore I present you not only with one, but two pictures of the first pair of twins ever to be born in Caelum!
Little Emerson has one cute little nose, especially when looked at in profile, while Addison "Addy" certainly has tiny eyes. I really hope the girl grows into them...

Because worrying about the lack of money isn't the best thing to do on birthdays, Cleo and Anderson decide to rather teach their children how to talk. Successfully, might be added.

Ah... potty training faces, how I missed you! ^^
After a long day of work at school, his wife often forces Anderson to the most exciting activity of potty training his children. You don't think he is bored by it, do you? ;)

Yay, Promotion!
A promotion means more money! I guess I know who is finally going to pay his weekly taxes to Ayazo!

Anderson wants to be involved in his children upbringing, therefore Cleo waits with the fun activities e.g. potty training, teaching them how to talk, or in this case how to walk, till Anderson comes home from work. Maybe, and just maybe Cleo also isn't very sure how to teach them something. She was an only child, whereas Anderson has two sisters and helped to raise his nephew Kenny until he bought their house.

Sometimes I wonder if these two realise that they have a bedroom upstairs... -.-

Oh no... exactly what this family needed... a demotion... -.-

Anderson naturally doesn't take this very easy. He really hoped to be promoted that day, plus the money is still very tight and the twins are about to grow up very soon!

Definitely not their week... luckily our nice neighbourhood burglar didn't steal anything. He crept upstairs, turned around and left again...

YAY...

... I guess???
Ahm... Anderson you know you were promoted just seconds ago... do you?

Obviously not...
Enter the Doctor (say what you want, everytime I see the Therapist turn up my mind instantly squee's DOCTOR! So now I surrender and the Therapist will from now on be called "The Doctor" in my game!) with his ~~sonic srewdriver~~ flying hypnotism propellor! After talking a look at poor troubled Anderson he recommends a loud frustrated scream... which actually works. Anderson starts feeling better and the Doctor leaves the town until he is needed again! ^^

Birthday time! Both the promotion and the Doctor arrived just in time to save the twins birthday! Luckily Addy really did grow into her eyes and Emerson's nose is still as cute as it was as a toddler! ^^

Hmm... Is it just me or does this looks suspiciously like "Try for Baby"?

Although the twins personalities are quite different they get along great. They insist on doing everything together, if possible even in the same place. Why jump on your own bed for example, if you can jump on your twin's one? Although they are definitely right if they insist that playing chess all by yourself is kinda boring...

I guess we all know what this means. Yet another pregnant sim...

POP and POP², nothing of interest happend between those two shots, or during the night that followed, so that's the end onf week 4!

Caelum Week 4 - The Parker Family

I'm sick... well, actually I was sick and today is the first day I feel actually better. I wanted to play my BaCC and post an update on the weekend, but instead I slept and felt terrible. Go me! I must have catched a cold during my stay at the Baltic Sea... -.-

Ah well, now that I feel better I thought I give you the next update of my BaCC!

As you remember we left the Parker family with a very pregnant Auggy. And there we are again. A very pregnant Auggy and her husband Darwin who is still very much in love with her! ^^

Of course Auggy managed to give birth to her little baby boy in the smallest room of the house... the bathroom! She instantly went of to show her loving husband their newborn... wait... there's something wrong there...

As soon as Auggy had handed over the baby to his father she went into labour again and gave birth to a beautiful little baby girl! ^^

And here they are! Darwin is holding little Harris, who has his daddy's skin and eye colour. Auggy is holding Summer, who has her daddy's skin and her mommy's eye colour. They are of course blond, seeing as both their parents are blond! ^^

Those bouncy chairs are life savers! The twins are playing happily in them and Darwin has time to do his household chores or to be a good daddy for Giles!

Let the promotion marathon begin! ^^
Auggy had most of her skills maxed out, so she pretty much goes to work to be promoted! ^^

She still tries to win the stepmother of the year award, pretty successfully might be added! Whether helping Giles with his homework, or dancing with him to imaginary music, Auggy is the perfect choice for either task! Giles already considers calling her mummy or mum, but he is not sure at the moment if this is the right choice for him!

Ah, the next one...

This time however Auggy noticed that her new job position was really exhausting and she decided to make some sport to get fitter. Why she chose rope jumping though... no idea...

Oh how time flies past! It's already time for the twins' birthday! Nephthys was of course invited and was as always thrilled to spend her otherwise pretty lonely afternoons with somebody else than her beloved dog!
The twins grew up into two really cute toddlers. Poor Darwin, though. Talking care of two toddlers is going to be hell on earth...

While Auggy and Darwin started to teach the twins how to talk, did Nepthys and Giles spend some time together... in the bathroom. It's not like there would be plenty of space in the kitchen, or like Giles having his own bedroom upstairs... noooo... bathroom it is! At least the siblings get along great...

Poor Darwin, he spend have of his morning with teaching his kids how to walk. As soon as one had fallen asleep, the other woke up and he had to start all over with teaching them how to walk...

Promotion and rope jumping break! XD

Sometimes Darwin gets lucky and his twins are playing with their toys. In those moments he can sneak to his easel and paint something. Those moments are pretty rare, though...

Giles brought home Akinyi after school. And once again, Giles proves that choosing appropriate places to play is not one of his strongest talents, as he decides that sitting down on their porch, in the middle of winter, to play "Mary Mack"... I really do understand to not want to play next to your little brother and sister, but once again... what about your own room???

And with these two promotions, this weeks promotion marathon in the Parker household is finally finished! ^^

Birthday time once more! Both the twins and Giles are having their birthday!

And here they are, Harris and Summer all grown up! Life is going to be a lot easier for Darwin now! ^^

Giles is a Capricorn (10/5/4/7/3) with the Knowledge/Family aspiration. Giles hopes to max out 5 skills in his future. He loves people who are great cooks and hopefully are Plantsims, but they better should not be wearing hats!

Caelum Week 4 - The Wilder Family (Rose edition)

Hello again!
Just yesterday I arrived home again after spending some wonderful days in Germany (Berlin and Baltic Sea if anybody wants to know ^^) and because I don't want to start working on that dreadful seminar paper of mine (yeah another one, luck me...) I'm giving you another BaCC update!

This week started with the happy occasion of Niall's birthday! Although Niall has lots of friends only his mum was there to cheer for him. The reason is pretty simple, Rose hasn't got the money to throw a huge party, no matter how much Niall wants one.

Niall is a Libra (1/10/3/3/10) with the Popularity/Romance aspiration. He dreams of becoming a celebrity chef in his future. His dream Sim should be good at cleaning and a red head. Being logical though is definitely a no-go for Niall.

Rose didn't cope very well with Niall's birthday. A teenager in the house means more expenses and money is tight in her household, especially with little Alcide about to grow up as well! The only thing I'm not so sure about though is if begging really is the right choice...

So back to sewing some napholders, curtains and clothes. At the moment Rose hopes to open up a small shop, but unfortunately money is tight and there is just no money left to buy a community lot to build a shop on, or even to build a little shop next to their house...

Time for little Alcide to grow up into a child. I predict that he is going to be a heartbreaker in his near future! ^^

Winter means snowmen, and it seems that Niall isn't too grown up to build one ;)

Remember that Niall wants to become a celebrity chef?
Well, he thought it would be a great idea to cook for his family. Unfortunately he started out with Mac and Cheese, setting the stove on fire while cooking it. Good thing Rose was around and knew how to handle a fire extinguisher, otherwise the whole house might have burned down (seeing as the stove as well as the dishwasher took fire)!
As Niall must have inherited Ayazo's cooking skills he was not allowed near that stove again till he had learned a few cooking skills, no need to set that kitchen on fire twice after all!

Alcide brought home Giles after school, and to my everlasting delight the brothers got along great. They settled for playing rock-paper-scissors after a while and judging by Alcides face he seems to take the game very seriously!

Have I mentioned yet what a cute big brother Niall is? No?
Ah well, Niall is such a cute big brother. He spends lots of time with Alcide, probably because Rose doesn't have that much time anymore. She mostly sits in front of her sewing machine, trying to sew stuff she can sell someday!

Look who's allowed to use the stove again! This time Niall didn't manage a fire and the meal was actually eatable! Yay for Niall! ^^

Rose was a little lonely during this week, and since Seth didn't walk by she decided to invite him over. Of course the two ended in the bedroom after a short while.
Hmmm... somehow this seems strangely familiar!

Just a quick note to let you know that I won't be around till at least Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday.

I'm visiting a friend in Berlin and we are also going to make a short trip to the Baltic Sea! ^^
Unfortunately that also means I've to brush up my rusty standard German skills, as I'm afraid that my friend wouldn't understand me that well if I would keep speaking in my local German accent... (hell, even at University my standard German is rather colloquial, and only used in my History classes, I use local accent with my friends and English during my English classes...)

Ah well I'm rambling ^^

Caelum Week 4 - The Myrthrae Family

It's time for our favourite Werewolf family in town! ^^

Clare is working steadily on her career and earned a promotion as a reward. That and a hug from Arrahd.

Eilreir managed to reach the top of the Law career! Which means the career is now unlocked for everyone! Yay! ^^

Three-Bolters, the first: Sylria and Janos are still very much in love. There isn't a day when Janos is not coming over to visit his girlfriend.

Three-Bolters, the second: Eilreir and Clare are still all over each other whenever possible! They are officialy the happiest married couple in town!

Ever wondered what a teenage werewolf can do to pass the time during the night? No?
Well, Sylria has. At the moment painting is on the top of her list, seeing as both her and Janos' parents are against him spending the nights at the Myrhrae's place...

Sylria is such a loving big sister! ^^

As of late Sylria tries herself at cooking. Sometimes her meals are delicious, sometimes they are not. Still her family, and especially her father, eat everything as long as it is eatable. Also, table manners, what's that???

Promotion time! ^^

What's the favourite free time activity for Knowledge Sims? Gaining new skills of course! ^^

Sylria seems to have won the jackpot with Janos. He doesn't mind that she's a werewolf, just as long as she doesn't mind that he's a witch. He get's along great with her father, even ignoring the fact that his mother isn't exactly fond of Eilreir, and he is really great at ignoring her mother working in her nighty on her next robot!

Also, who could withstand a guy landing on his broomstick in front of their house?
Sylria obviously can't! ^^

Promotion the third! ^^

"The Mechanical Knight", Clare's little side project, is one successful business! No thanks to Clare who still keeps struggeling with the cash register. Much to the dismay of her customers. But luckily, Sylria is one hell of a shop assistant!

Sylria and Arrahd are really close. I'm really starting to wonder how that little guy manages to hide his evilness so well...

I sense a promotion! ^^

Mirembe loves to visit the Myrthrae household. Unlike at home she tends to be the centre of attention once she steps through her father's frontdoor. Sylria loves to spend time with her, and even family dinner suddenly becomes much more interesting when you are the one being asked how your schoolday was!

There is also the added bonus of her dad actually listening to her problems and not just nodding and smiling while thinking about town business like Ayazo. Even Arrahd's little evil plans are quite amusing. She even manages to play some chess with her dad withoug being interrupted by one of her siblings newest fights!

And there she is... the next promotion!

Arrahd is a Sagittarius with the Fortune/Knowledge aspiration. He dreams of becoming a game designer. He loves guys in swim wear, who should also be quite logical to keep up with him. They better shouldn't wear hats though! Oh, it also turned out that he is a werewolf!
