Summary: It's the fall of 2003 and Ryan is already having a rough senior year. College applications are right around the corner, Homecoming is in a few days, and Pet Salamander just isn't as satisfying as it used to be. Worse, Ryan has developed a raging crush on his best friend and feels powerless to do anything about it. When Ryan accidentally wishes Spencer away to the goblins, he finds himself on a fantastical quest to stop Brendon, Prince of the Goblins, from keeping Spencer forever. All he has to do is solve an enormous maze, storm a castle, and find the right words to say --all under 13 hours!

Author's Note: This story wouldn't have happened without late-night musings with C., who linked me to photographs just like these and suggested that Brendon was forever practicing for prom.
