i have been tearing through the FMA manga. SO GOOD. SO FREAKIN' GOOD. ♥

ok so. i will admit to becoming an embarrassing level of gleeful at "when we're alone, the colonel always calls me 'riza'"

and then she just had to add that little 'just kidding' and i immediately sobered up. :(

and while i'm on the subject of team mustang - holy shit, i LOVE THOSE GUYS. the clandestine information sharing! the badass shit they get up to! after bradley split them up, i found myself analyzing so many conversations for the messages behind them - roy and riza's cafeteria chat, their phone conversation while riza calmly sniped from an abandoned building YES ♥

in other news, we're moving house on monday, so this past month has been nothing but going to work, packing, and catching what little sleep i can. sorry for not getting back to some people in any semblance of a timely fashion!
Holy shit. HOLY SHIT.

I can't believe it's actually, officially over. I think I'm most concerned about that fact over anything else. I mean, it just felt like it was going to last forever (that "good" kind of forever, where you never ever get sick of it). Thinking about The End makes me miss the freakin' good old days, when all Sokka had to worry about was his snow-watch tower falling apart (and meat), Toph made blind jokes (and, by extension, made everyone feel guilty for about five seconds afterwards), and Zuko had hair that slowly engaged in a hostile takeover of his face.

I was pretty happy for most of it, but then the last forty five minutes had me curled up in a ball on the floor about two inches from the screen. I was incoherent during the Agni Kai. Azula cracking. The sad music. Zuko just confidently going in there, never faltering, even though he knows his sister is hopelessly losing it because she's scared and sad and unable to handle the pressure, knowing that he's got to take down a creature that was so beautiful and deadly and poised in better days. IT BROKE MY HEART. And unf yes I WAS WAITING FOR KATARA TO PULL OFF SOME SORT OF BADASSERY.

My most prominent complaint at the moment: MAIKO UGH. I could have most definitely lived without that, and I say that without any influence from my major Zutara bias. Though, I think the only reason that that was in there at the end was due to the fact that they'd been throwing a shitload of Zutara at us the past few episodes. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the final Maiko moment was just a little "ha-ha" at anyone the recent Zutara had made hopeful.

I was surprisingly OK with the Kataang, probably because we all knew that it was definitely endgame. And it was sorta sweet, I'll admit.

And I love how there was way more kickass shit that happened, but all I'm managing to blabber about is ships. GREAT.

ANYONE UP FOR BABBLING/DISCUSSION/WHATEVERTHEHELL?

So, I've been shopping for a bento and accessories for some time now, but nothing had really caught my eye.

And then I discovered Shinzi Katoh.

Holy shit ♥!!

His bento designs are absolutely adorable. I seriously want ALL OF THEM. And his onigiri cases, too. I really, really want his Gibbon design bento (I even have matching chopsticks and kinchaku all picked out!), but it's even out of stock on his own website. I might buy another one to hold me over until a restock happens. Not that I would mind, really. Like I said, I want them all. I hope I immerse myself enough in bento that it's worth it to have more than one.

Took my oldest cat to the vet this morning. We walked in with her, but she didn't come back out with us. Needless to say, today sucked.

We knew it was time, though. She was something like 18 years old, and she'd been having problems with her hips. Last week, she had a lot of trouble walking. This week she stopped eating, and we had to carry her from place to place because she couldn't get there on her own. It was hard to watch her; she was that miserable looking. She wouldn't even eat kitty treats this morning, and she's a fiend for those.

She had a good run. At least I managed to give her that.

So I'm finding that I absolutely hate the second season of Hanadan. I mean, I know dramas thrive on angst and misunderstandings and eavesdropping on all the wrong parts of conversations, but seriously. I am about to throttle Makino.

Every single time Tsukasa tries to explain himself, she cuts him off. He tries and tries, and eventually gets mad, then she gets mad, then it's a whole new can of worms that's broken open. It's quite boring, after three straight episodes of exactly the same scenario.

AND YOU, Tsukasa. STOP LETTING HER WALK ALL OVER YOU AND RIGHT OUT THE DOOR.

I'm waiting for him to clamp a hand over her mouth and make her listen.

If things are going to be like this all season long, I may just skip to the last episode. Cut out all the crap and just get to the (hopefully) happy ending. (I really didn't even see a point for season two in the first place. So what if it didn't cover all the stuff in the manga? I liked things they way they were.)

And honestly, if Rui falls in love with her again like I have a horrid feeling he's going to, I'm going to punch a baby in the face. WHY. WHY. He didn't fall back in love with her in the manga, right?! STOP IMPEDING MY OTP.

Someone please tell me its worth it to keep watching.

IN HAPPIER NEWS, I bought my Philly Folk Fest tickets today. I'm stoked!

EDIT: OK SO episode four's "fig scene" gives me vast amounts of hope (which will probably be dashed to little pieces in the next episode BUT STILL AT LEAST IN THIS MOMENT THERE'S HOPE).
