Anniversary!

Yesterday was our anniversary. Jason came home to me with approximately 1/3 the hair he left me with and was, um, humptastically enthusiastic about the new look. (For the record, the stylist was right about the hair taking a few days to fall into place. Pomade or no pomade, the bangs do not want to be bang-y.) We got all shined up, exchanged gifts, then headed out to dinner at The Melting Pot.

YUM. Really. First course was a four-cheese fondue course. Second, a caprese salad with balsamic and a garlic wine topping (which was so good we actually bought some for home). Third was a mojo-styled meats course with lobster tail, shrimp, filet, chicken, veggies, and pasta sachettes. Fourth was the Oreo cookie fondue-- pound cake, brownies, rice crispie treats, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, and marshmallows dipped in a marshmallow dark chocolate mix. I licked my fingers a lot.

We came home and gave each other massages, having missed the 10pm showing of The Dark Crystal at the local movie theater. We'll probably go tonight, instead.

Part of J's gift-- pretty wrapping, a lotus candle-holder, and a sweet card.

Moi, dolled up. The bangs are behaving a little better today.

Jason. :)

My gift to J, all wrapped up in printed Japanese paper.

And, my gift-- a paper star lantern. We want some in our bedroom back home, so this is the first in our collection.
(Yes, I know that paper is a traditional first wedding gift, but I was feeling whimsical.)

Jason's card to me. Now, in unison: "d'aaaaaaawwww!"

And his other gift, a beautiful journal in which to put our pictures and notes.

With its own inscription. My man is the sweetest ever.

My little feather hair fascinator. :)

Alrighty. I'm gonna go fix some dinner. We're doing breakfast for dinner tonight. Avocado, egg, and cheese wraps with a big side salad. Yum.
