The Compound

Still on stolen internet that only works maybe 5 minutes at a time, tops. There were complications in getting the wireless fixed last night, but it should be fixed tonight. It has literally taken me the whole of the day to upload the pics for this post. But as the TV has no cable yet and everybody else is on-site for work, I've had little else to do, besides unpacking. Which is thankfully done. But anyway, check out the new digs:

Step through the gate.

The front door...

Which leads to the kitchen.

We are still sorting that out, so don't mind the mess.

Our little kitchenette. There's also a cute little diner-style bar for more seating.
The laundry room and the 1/2 bathroom is in the back.

Stocked with the essentials.

From there, here is the living room.

I really like skylights.

Through there is the sunroom, which the guys have appropriated for a home office.

That leads to the game room.

With a pool table...

And a view of the pool. That door is the back door to my bedroom.

This is the full bath, for the other three bedrooms. Very sunny and cute.

This is the cleanest you will ever see a bedroom of mine.

My bed is like a fluffy white cloud.

And the cute little master bathroom with Southwestern sunshine colors.

My shower (and me).

I have a nice wooden medicine cabinet (and a tchotchke rack upon which I've stacked my BPAL).

And from my bedroom, I can practically step right out into the pool.
Which isn't open right now but will be shortly.

HOT TUB.

Hammock.

The door to the patio (from the kitchen).

And the patio itself.

The back porch sitting garden.
Not yet in bloom, but spring is coming.

The back gate, with birdbath.

And our potted tree by our garage.

I didn't photograph the other bedrooms; others have taken them over and that'd be a bit intrusive.

So far, the food here has been wonderful. When I posted on the BPAL boards about things to do in ABQ, I was directed by several locals (or former locals) to go to Padilla's and have the red chili enchiladas. As it turns out, Padilla's is literally right around the corner and I have already had their red chili enchiladas. Yum. We went to High Noon in Old Town for dinner last night-- the first truly decent margarita I've had in awhile. But I've been eating out a lot; I want to cook tonight. Hence, J and I are heading the 1/2 mile to Whole Foods to stock up on necessities. Tomorrow, I have to plan a route to the post office to mail packages.

That's all I've got for now.
