Before the premiere, let's place bets
Speculation about the BSG final cylon under the cut.
First choice: Ellen Tigh. Baltar was ambiguous about whether or not she was a cylon. She was dead by the time D'Anna said the last one wasn't in the fleet. She's not in the Last Supper pic. And it would fucking kill Saul Tigh. Wouldn't do much emotionally for me, but it sort of makes sense. On the other hand, she does look a little too much like Number Six.
Second choice: Tom Zarek. Something the hybrid said about searching for redemption tipped this for me. Plus it'd be the perfect little nod to the original series.
Possible, but not likely: Felix Gaeta, Anastasia Dualla, Zak Adama, Lee Adama, Billy Kikeya, Admiral Cain. Or something really obtuse, like "the entire human race" or someone we've not met before. I want it to be Gaeta, but it probably won't be.
Red herrings: Laura Roslin, Kara Thrace, William Adama, Gaius Baltar.
Also-- what is Kara Thrace's Very Special Destiny? Is it just finding Earth, or is it more? I'm guessing there's more to it.
Earth: what's up with that? Was it a Cylon homeworld? Is the Earth that the crew found the same Earth that the thirteenth tribe journeyed to? Anyway, I think there are probably people around somewhere. And why does it have such special significance-- it makes no sense that of the 13 tribes, only Earth got a super-mystical acid-trip temple planetarium show map, right? It's gotta have special significance more than just being a failsafe. Earth has probably seen numerous apocolypses (apocolypsii?), which keeps with "this has all happened before and will happen again." My question is-- who will become the new Lords of Kobol? Kara seems a ripe candidate.
The Opera House: I really don't think Roslin's a cylon. I do think that her visions have something to do with the prophesy and/or sharing Hera's blood.
Is Caprica Six's child really Tigh's? The timelines say yes, so I'm inclined to agree. But this would be the first cylon/cylon child and how's that work? Because the final 5 are different?
How did the cylons get numbered?
1- Cavill
2- Leoben
3- D'Anna
4- Simon
5- Doral
6- Six/Caprica/Gina/Natalie, etc.
7- ?
8- Boomer/Athena
9- ?
10- ?
11- ?
12- ?
Why is Boomer not a part of the first group? Who was created first, and how does that play into their numbering? Does their numbering have astrological significance?
