Wisdom teeth update, in short
-- First one (top left) came out like a charm, in about 10 minutes.
-- Second one (bottom left) was a total bitch, requiring over an hour of chisel, drill, pliers, repeat. It took three people and repeated numbing needles to get the little sucker out.
-- I was in the chair for about three hours.
-- Upon leaving the office, my dental assistant said "I can't believe you weren't knocked out for that." Alas, I have a weird reaction to anesthesia and didn't want to risk all my hair falling out.
-- Pain level was soaring high until I got Percoset into me... now, 2 pills later, I'm feeling better but still really uncomfortable. The bleeding has slowed, but not stopped. My jaw is super sore. I had a little bout of stress sobbing because my body is just really freaked out right now.
-- My parents showed up. I was... okay, I don't want to say surprised. But yeah. It was nice to have them there.
-- Jason is the world's most awesome boyfriend. He's been fixing my food, timing my pills, letting me lean/sleep on him, and fielding update calls from my parents. So blessed to have this man in my life.
All in all, a really difficult and traumatic extraction, and I am going to be very sore, if not bruised, for the next week. No strenuous physical activity until Thursday, and I have to go back in a week or so so they can check the stitches, for bone spurs, etc.
Time for more pills.
