Goodbye, monies!
I just got to write an ad for the receptionist who will replace me. It's kind of odd, though-- basically they're splitting what my job has been into two parts, so I was only writing a bit of what I have done during my time at DDI. I handed in my official written resignation this morning after haven given an unofficial 4 week verbal notice. My last day as a full-time employee is October 31st. Samhain. Kind of fitting. It's time to say goodbye to things that no longer are beneficial and plan for the year ahead.
It's just time to try to do what I love full time. It's scary; my budget is going to be tight and it might not work. But things have just sort of aligned the right way and now is the time to give it a shot. There's been talk of me freelancing some writing and marketing when they have need; I think that's an arrangement that will benefit us both. So we'll see. And it's not like I'll never see these people again-- a bunch of them are now counted as friends and J & I are more or less joined at the hip anyway.
Anyhow, busy weekend ahead... and very probably the last one for which I'll have money for a long while. RenFest with the Mediaeval Baebes and seeing friends, a ghost walk in Gettysburg on Sunday, spending some time with my Annabean for her birthday. And I'm buying a new digital camera tonight. Goodbye, monies.
