Oh, adulthood.

Holy crapballs bejesus, October is going to be an expensive month. I will likely have a tooth removed, plus there's a second gamut of testing right around the corner. I'd already committed to going to Faeriecon, and I have to pay for the faerie balls, the hotel, and 1/2 gas for the trip, plus spending for food. Ordinarily, I would bail on this, but I'd feel like crap doing so after the girl I'm going with already reserved a hotel room. And there's no way I'm missing the closing weekend of Faire with the Baebes playing. I probably won't do BellyHorror or Romka's sword workshop, which makes me sad. But non-ouchy teeth are more important to me right now.

Sadly, this means I need to start saying 'no' a lot more, particularly with a job change comin' right up, which always means money will be tight for awhile. I'll be devoting more time to jewelry and wholesale, sure, but it could take awhile before I start seeing a proportionate amount of dough roll in. I have to start prioritizing non-essential spending. I have to plan what I'll be making people for the Winter holidays, as my funds to buy will be tight. In short, I need to be all responsible-like as I prepare for a six month trial of self-employment (buffered by some freelance writing for Direct Dimensions and maybe a gig at Starbucks or something to get me on my feet for a bit). This will mean eating out way less (which is one of my major money drains), keeping more exact track of my pricing on the site, and putting myself on a mad money allowance. I doubt I'll have much left over to start on savings in the next six months, but as soon as things are off the ground, that's a priority.

Oh, adulthood.

It's also time for new business cards. I liked the ones I had, but I am thinking of a little simpler design this time around, which will match the new Etsy banner I'm gonna implement. The stickers I use in my packaging are from Max And Bella, and I like their aesthetic a lot. I think I'm going to go with these cards, with the flourish in my signature fuchsia. My other thought was having S Type Creative do them, 'cause I love their style and their pricing is extremely reasonable. Plus they can coordinate website design and buying a domain if I so wish, and that's definitely on my list of things to do. Decisions, decisions.
