Mice!
So, at 4am, the ceiling directly over my bed caved in. I have tile up there, and it's frankly old; I was up until 5 dusting shit off and taping the hole until Jayson (Dixie's bf/ our handyman) can fix it on Friday. Add to that the persistent scritch scritch scritch of the mouse I cannot seem to catch despite tasty smoked cheese in our no-kill trap, and I was a bit frazzly this morning. Yes folks, it is that time of the year again. And little mousie sneezing makes me sad. I hope to come home tonight to a mouse in the trap that I can release into the wilds of Sudbrook Park. I'm all for live and let live, but not in my bedroom at 5am, okay? This goes double for spiders.
But plus side: Ariel is cooking me dinner tonight!

1. Why do you blog? It started as a way to keep track of friends in college, then it became more of a headspace thing for me. I process things out through writing, and if I have a lot on my mind but don't get it down, I get jittery and frazzled. I also blog for networking/friend making and some jewelry marketing purposes.
2. What did you talk about on your blog on this date 2 years ago? 3 years ago? 4 years ago? Keep going back if applicable. Last year: the post breakup room cleaning, taking a dance workshop, hanging out with friends. Two years ago: Nada. Three: Nada. Four: A brief, ill-fated fling with a girl named Rachel. Five: Siiiiiick. Six: an English exam, and stupid quizzes.
3. Do you dislike some of your friends list as people, but enjoy their journals? Nah. If I start to dislike who people are (as opposed to just growing apart), it generally comes from an ethics standpoint, which is reflected in the writing. I will defriend in that case. I mean, there are people I often don't agree with, or whose viewpoints frustrate me, but that's not necessarily the same thing as thinking someone's ethically shady. Otherwise, if someone is consistently whiny or negative or is a total drama queen, they're off my list.
4. How much (percentage-wise) does the life you have right now resemble the life you want for yourself (as of now)? %60 and climbing. I am working on getting the job I want, and moving in with the man I'm in love with. So the goal is in sight, and I'm steadily working towards it. I suppose The Big Move (wherever that might be) is after that.
5. What thing do you keep meaning to do but keep putting off? Cleaning. Sending out the resume to part-time places. Ordering more business cards.
6. What emotion did you feel for most of the past 24 hours? Anticipation.
7. If you were/are single, are you alright with it? I mean like, really alright with it? If you knew you would be for at least three more years, would that freak you out? The last time I was single (all six months of it) didn't really feel single 'cause I was casually dating a ton of people, all of whom were great people, and then there was Tex who continues to be one of the best men I've ever met. So even though I was 'single' I wasn't preoccupied with prospects. I don't think I'm someone who needs to have someone, but I enjoy companionship and don't usually go long periods without it.
8. Are you more likely to be mistaken for a jerk or a doormat? A jerk. I have strong opinions, and I often express them in a forthright manner. I try not to be actively mean about it, though.
9. What is pissing you off about yourself at the moment? The fact that I'm having a really hard time with the ten birth control pounds. I am considering taking a p/t job at Starbucks or in Retail just to be on my feet more.
10. Does anyone really really really get you, and give a fuck? Yep. More than one person. I'm lucky.
11. Did you ever all of a sudden, for no apparent reason (i.e., not a fight or miscommunication or any sort of preceding incident) start to loathe one of your close friends? Not loathe. Moments of resentment, sure. But not out of the blue or without reason.
12. Do you enjoy Disney movies? Meh. Not any of the newer ones.
13. What perfume or cologne have you been wearing lately? Today is BPAL Snake Oil.
14. Does facebook ever make you feel like the whole world is happier than you? Nope.
15. Do you like being hugged? If I'm comfortable with someone's it's okay. If I'm not, it's extremely awkward.
16. Would you rather be "cute," "sexy" or "beautiful?" Beautiful, because I think that tends to be more about the person as a whole rather than just the physical aspect. Also, real beauty tends to age with grace. (See: Mirren, Helen.)
17. Which of the three do you suspect you're described as most often? Beautiful in writing, but god knows what spoken.
18. What do you wear to bed? Entirely dependent on climate. In the summer, nothing. In the winter, PJ pants and a long sleeved shirt.
19. Do you ever get so angry it freaks other people out? Hmm. Maybe? I'm usually more peeved than I am angry.
20. Would other people describe you as "laid-back" or "relaxed?" No. I can be totally type-A.
21. Do you find people who describe themselves as such kind of eye-rolling? No. They're usually pretty spot-on about it.
22. Polo shirts with little alligators on them- cute or ick? Not my thing.
23. If you take a shower in the morning and go about your day in a typical way, do you still feel fresh and clean at about 4 PM? How about 7 PM? Unless I've been super sweaty for some reason, I feel fine.
24. Do you dance when you're home alone? I'm a dancer. It's what I do.
25. What's a song that keeps coming into your head over and over for no apparent reason?
Today... Prince. "I Would Die 4 U." Thanks, ONTD.
