My spoilery thoughts on...

Queer as Folk, Season 2, now that I have completed my viewing:

Emmett. I love you. You are the one character that I did not have an irrational moment of ire for this season.

Ben has the body of a superhero. Why the hell wasn't he the basis for Rage instead of Brian? I mean- SuperThigh!Ben! Mmm. I mourned the departing of Dr. Dave, but now I'm all Dr. Who? Although the zen thing got a little overdone... Still, I am now officially in love with Robert Gant.

Justin, Justin. You cannot pull off being Brian, no matter how much you crib dialogue from season 1. You're a bottom, for the most part, and your attempts at being a top come off as merely being a spoiled whiny brat. And by the way- why would you want to be Brian?

This season has redefined the words 'stereotype' and 'stock character.' Fie on the writing staff.

Michael in drag! So cute. Michael's father a drag queen! So cute.

Debbie. For fuck's sake, can you please omit 'cock' from just one conversation?? And BTW, your 'mother-love heart-of-the-show' gimmick is being sorely abused. Once, you were my favorite character. Now, I just groan.

I think Justin's mom deserves props for just being cool. I wish my mom were that cool.

Brian. Fucking the cop with the reflective glasses and hat. Hotness. Gale Harold is sex on a stick.

Also, I was surprised at Brian's considerate rehabilitation of Justin. In his own way, he's being the bestest boyfriend ever. And snuggling! I saw one instance of snuggling! Balance that by his horrible treatment of Justin by the end of the season, and I can't quite form a complete opinion. Don't get me wrong- I'm glad he's not daffodils and kittens, but it seems like the writers have no clue what to do with him.

I was fully prepared to hate Scott Hope Ethan. But even though he overacts in that pretentious "I'm such an artist" way that I have detested in many an ex, he won me over because he's not afraid to give Justin what he needs. The jury's still out over Justin-- he spat in the face of many of the good things that Brian did for him, but Ethan's okay with me. Now go shave your soul patch, darling.

The new announcer at Babylon- Cree-pee.

I was fully expecting to be disgusted with Emmett's relationship with Mr. Pickle. But Peter Paige pulled it off... very nice. But please. No 70-year old nudity scenes ever again, mmkay?? And the scene in the airplane.... eeeew. Necrophilia is a definite no. Ick. Ick.

Ah! The lesbians finally got to have sex! Yippee!

Thea Gill can act circle around the rest of the cast.

This Leda girl irks the living hell out of me. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with her "I'm so wild and enthusiastic" grin that basically amounts to the actress looking vapid with her mouth hanging open for large amounts of time in an attempt to be hot. I'll pass, although she did have nice tits.

Ted annoyed the fuck out of me this season. And Ted/Emmett?? NO!

... and that is all off the top of my head. More to come, I'm sure.

By the way, are there any Queer as Folk LiveJournal communities? If not, I'd be happy to donate a code of anyone wants to moderate. Seeing as I don't get Showtime, I wouldn't be very helpful in that capacity. But, yeah. Let me know.
