Goodbye, San Francisco.

Eep! Busy, busy day. Good busy, but still. Need to find a moment to distract myself. Also need to sleep for more than 5 hours tonight. Last night, a commission stole my attention and prevented me from getting anything done in the way of updating. I also realized that I have like, four half-finished pieces as well as beads set aside for specific necklaces I haven't even started. I have some big, chunky purple agate that's going to even be potentially a belt.

I am delighted that my 'Travelogue: San Francisco' necklace sold last night, and it is going to a home where it will be loved. It served its purpose for me-- catharsis and cleansing, making something beautiful out of something painful-- and now it is free to go on and make someone happy and warm. That chapter of my life is truly well and over. The last vestiges are floating away, and I feel immense relief.

Also appears that I'm going to be donating a necklace and earring set to shadesong's July 26th Flash Blogathon to benefit Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. I'm thinking of making something fossil-y. Or maybe druszy. Anyhow, it's good to have a deadline, 'cause I suck at setting those for myself. Clearly. Anyhow, if you make nifty things and want to donate, email her!

Aside from that, I am having a major case of the materialistic wantses today. I want a red jaipur skirt. And Belladonna's DVD. And silk sari skirts. And organic wooden earrings. And this cool choker. And these cool copper blade earrings. And wings. And a corset vest. And steampunk stationery. And a kuchi belt, though only if I can find one with matching medallions and not a lot of blue and I'm undecided 'cause I might just want to go the shisha route after all and oh god oh god why does it all have to be so shiny?

Tonight, though, I spend the dough on something far more practical: hiking shoes.
