Le weekend
Friday at work was the longest day ever. I was starting to get a little stir crazy, what with the beautiful sunshine outside and all. When I got home, I cooked dinner for me and J-- salad with grape tomatoes, almonds, apple, and cranberry walnut gorgonzola dressing, and basamati rice with chicken. Our initial plan was to chill inside and relax, but we ended up seeing Iron Man with his friends instead. Okay, I shall redact my "deeply ambivalent" comment in regards to Robert Downey, Jr. He was actually kinda hot with a little bit of muscle on him, despite the douchey facial hair and the fact that he apparently had spare eyeliner on him to tide him over in that cave. I suspect my general meh-ness had to do with the drug haze he spent much of the last 15 years in, as I sometimes have a hard time separating art from artist-- ie, my personal feelings about someone colors my opinion of the work they produce. At any rate, it was a good movie-- character-driven with a message, but never biting off more than it could chew. It was a fun action flick with the added bonus of some acting chops. And guys? I so missed holding hands at the movies.
We spent most of Saturday lounging about, being generally hedonistic. Big breakfast, epic nap, cuddle time, watching BSG, etc. He left at about 11pm, and I played around with iTunes, which I'm well aware that I'm apparently the last person on the planet to use. My rebate check had been deposited, and I had an economy to stimulate, people. So I downloaded some music, ordered a cute Stila palette, applied some dough to my credit card, bought a Kallisti Tribal teeshirt, and got a rosehips skirt. I want to pick up some hiking boots this week, too, as J and I have plans to go backpacking in the near future. I went to bed (er, I fell asleep on the couch) at about 5am.
Today, I slept in, did some dance drilling, bounced around to some peppy music, took a nice two mile walk (the weather was gorgeous), worked on a little craft project, started to do a massive amount of laundry, and took a nice long bath. My hair still smells of roses and my skin is oiled soft. Things are just as they ought to be.
Okay, I've procrastinated quite enough. I have a commission for
secretshores to finish up and send out. Must get to work now.
ETA: 1:20am, commission complete. G'night!
