Spring Cleaning.

I might be a little post-y today. I have lots of things on my mind that seem to want to be resolutely separate.

Well... Ostara has just passed, and the last of my Cadbury eggs have been eaten. This, of course, means it is time for Spring Cleaning. I've already started the mental/emotional part of Spring Cleaning-- I'm starting to streamline my time and prioritize. I'll be about a month yet until everything settles into routine... I hadn't realized just how far in advance I tend to book myself.

It's really the physical cleaning that needs to be done. I procrastinate on chores, and my room is a straight-up mess. Packing material boxes everywhere. Clothes from my closet strewn about from last weekend. Unpacked suitcases. I've just been too busy to do anything in it other than work and then sleep. Yesterday I went to JoAnn's and bought new bright turquose cloth for my dresser-tops, as the old runner had gotten wax spilled all over it. I started stuffing bay leaves in little cracks. My room is a renovated attic, which means when it gets rainy, I have to be extra-diligent about pest control. I've seen some ants about here and there, mostly trying to get into my bead box, as things are shiny and bright and look much like food to them. Things left to do: massive cleanout of junk drawers. Vacuuming. Scouting a new rug-- mine has this bizarre ripple down the center that I've never quite been able to smooth out. I also need to talk to Dixie about getting the ceiling fixed-- when I moved back in, a tile had started to buckle and while it poses no structural damage, it just doesn't look good. There are also a couple of other holes and the like that need to be fixed. Paint bubbling. Etc.

Spiritually-- time to renew the altar. I can say with absolute certainty that the decanter of honey I placed on it 6 months ago has really drawn sweetness into my life. But it's time to clear off the dust, get a new oil burner, and overall spruce things up a little. I was thinking I might get one of the TAL conjure bags for some focusing work.

And of course, people are waiting with baited breath for the return of the hot pink hair. That's a renewal in and of itself. :)

Do any of you have any Spring Cleaning rituals?
