Hola. Happy Monday. If you tried to call me this weekend and it went straight to my voicemail, it's because my phone was completely dead, and my backup charger was at work. It's charging now... I suppose I'll check messages in a bit.
Mmmm, busy busy weekend. Very productive and very social. On the productive end, my commissions are more or less progressing smoothly, and my March update is nearly done. There are a couple of pieces that will have to be pushed back to the next update for supply reasons, but overall, this update will be a decent size. Mostly brass, some gunmetal. Some romantic, some gritty. Some just plain amusing.
On the social front, I had a champagne/sparkling wine tasting at Scott and Sarah's. With Chris and Sarah. So if you're playing the home game, that made two Chrises, two Sarahs, and one Scott. I won the trivia game purely by accident! Anyway, there was good bubbly from brut to sec, and the power blew about halfway through. Ergo-- bubbly + warm fire. Good times. I think it was all agreed that the high point of the evening was making Sarah M. say a certain word so she'd have a gigglefit. Sunday was a date with Julie-- she brought me flowers! So sweet. We saw La Cage Aux Folles onstage and had coffee in Fell's Point. (Hence my Emmet-as-drag-queen icon.) At any rate, we were out for 8 hrs-- for a first date, that's pretty successful. Considering how tired and cranky I was feeling pre-date, it's practically a miracle. Anyway, things went swimmingly, and it looks like we'll be doing it again.
On the docket for today: answering emails, getting a haircut, starting to write item descriptions for the update.
