The fatigue continues.
Man, your muscles really tire quickly when you haven't used them in two weeks. This I learned in dance class today. I came home with the intention of working on commissions, but instead passed out cold for what became a three-hour nap. I'm sure part of it was that I was up 'til about 2:30 coughing, and I slept fitfully. But still. I'm still catching up on rest.
Ariel came over for dinner, and we watched Queer as Folk while I worked on commissions. I finished another Kushiel's ear cuff-- a commissioned House Orchis cuff with a sterling silver orchid and pretty purples for
firebirdgrrl. I also spent forever on a 3' long linked necklace that will be called 'The Silk Road.' The only thing is that since it is rather heavy, I'm going to have to buy a pair of split ring pliers and replace the jumprings with split ones so it won't break if it gets snagged. Usually, I'd just link each piece to the next, but I liked the spacing of having a ring between each link. Overall, it is rather pretty-- olive green gems smoothly gradiating into warm oranges and cinnamon reds, with antique copper bits that I bought during my travels in San Francisco. It's definitely a necklace with character and a sense of place, and versatile-- it looks just as good looped twice as it does in one long hanging strand. And I did another gear necklace with color-gradiating hessonite garnets. It's been a good few days in terms of art.
And now... I'm going to zonk out and sleep in tomorrow. Much, much needed. Ta!
