This and that, or where I get geeky about French and ask for help.

Despite the fact that Jenna Jameson and I had the same idea (!), I'm still thinking about the St. Joan tattoo. Only I'm getting geeky about the French. In boiled down terms, there are two contemporary quotes of Joan's I'm looking at...

Je ne crains pas... Je suis née pour ce faire.
I do not fear. I was born to do to do this.

Ne me plaignez pas, c'est pour cela que je suis née.
Do not feel sorry for me, it is for that which I was born.

I definitely want to keep "Je ne crains pas." It's just that even though "je suis née pour ce faire" is very blunt. It lacks a sense of the artistry I love in the French language. I love the fluidity and grace of "c'est pour cela que je suis née," and was thinking of putting the two quotes together to make "Je ne crains pas... c'est pour cela que je suis née." It sounds just beautiful. But then it would say "I do not fear... it is for that which I was born." And I really want to retain a sense of "for this." Which would read "Je ne crains pas... c'est pour ceci que je suis née." It's lyrical, it retains a sense of her words. But they're not her words exactly, and part of me wants to use the exact words (or as near as we have to them) in the tattoo.

And I'm also thinking of script/font... some thoughts below the cut.
