Mini Lost rant.

Well I guess it would be nice if I could touch your body
I know not everybody has got a body like yoo-o-ou...
Damn you, ubiquitous ads for Eli Stone; that song is now firmly lodged in my brain.

Back at work today. Tired and cold, but not plague-ridden. Spent most of yesterday in bed, watching Rome and Lost. Had lots of soup and tea.

I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. Aside from Hurley getting off the island, we learned nothing new, really. Sure, it looked like Christian Sheppard was in Jacob's chair. And we got Ghost!Charlie. And Peter from Secretary is a new savior-slash-bad guy. But you know what? I'm really tired of the show just piling on new mysteries without solving any of the other mysteries. Mostly, it's just a confusing mess, and while I enjoy watching the show, the post-show WTF-ery is getting to be too much. Why does the island bring back dead people? How the hell are Patchy and Locke not dead? What was the point of Naomi's brief resurrection, aside from changing the dial on the satellite phone? Dude, answers soon would be nice, 'cause it's getting to the point where I am so frustrated at having no bearings whatsoever in this ever-changing mythology that I'm really considering not watching until the series is over and I can just go through the DVDs.

Plus... okay, so say you've crashed on this island that may or may not have a person-eating monster, and certainly has a bunch of people that kidnap people from your group. In the sheer interest of survival, after several months, wouldn't you have figured out that sharing all information and using proper fucking nouns and descriptors is infinitely preferable to vague statements like "Beware! Those people are not who you think they are! They did that thing that one time!"?? These are intelligent people, and I'm tired of the writers fucking us around.

Gah. When I'm this frustrated with a goddamn tv show, it's not entertainment anymore.

Tonight: finishing up some brass pieces, dyeing my hair. Tomorrow is the day o'birthdays. I'll be attending my grandfather's 70th birthday party, then my brother's 21st. I will then astrally project my birthday love to evergleam83, who has her birthday tomorrow.
